Canada's beautiful nature and machinery on this video. Beau travail ! Likewise, driving or riding through a long or successif tunnels on a train is a pleasure, especially on the European Alpes mountainous countries. Tyson's CP and CN heavy freight train videos therapy to survive very hot night temperature in Europe. I appreciate your efforts to share these videos.
Hello Tyson great work from your hands. Wonderful CP Locos worked hard with her Frightrains at the Rogers Pass Tunnel. Nice Scenery in BC. The Mountain railroad is a Inginearing wonder in beautyfull Canadian Nature. 🇨🇦👍👍👍😄😊😊🤗🤗 Love greetings from Graz Austria 🇦🇹
Very interesting Tyson I'm very impressed once again on your videos of the trains going through Shaughnessy and Mount McDonald first time seeing this area in Canada in this video and I'm liking the video and more. Robert
I have videos from Field, BC and the surrounding areas, but this is the first time shooting content from the Mountain sub from around Glacier. Thanks Ed for being one of my top supporters 🙏
10:10 mark: Interesting that the avalanche shed sign is "McDonald" whereas the 1961 plaque is for a Mr. MacDonald. Someone maybe wasn't paying attention to detail when creating the shed sign. But I also like the coincidence of both the railway tunnel and the highway snow-shed each being named for a person named MacDonald, from two different centuries. Well, I take some license in saying that, because of course the tunnel is named for a mountain, but the mountain is named for John A. MacDonald. Tyson: Thanks again for your work, especially the Mt. Shaughnessy tunnel part.
Super video showing the two tunnels. U get anything of the Connaught Tunnel? The WB leaving the Mt. Mac tunnel shows that the hogger has his train under control at Ross Peak for the downhill run to Revelstoke.(aka Revy or Reveltoke). LOL!
Another ripper Tyson! I assume they have ventilation on that tunnel? I was hoping for some serious "black fog" from the locos! I went through the Spiral Tunnels on Kicking Horse, on the Rocky M back in 2015 and that was pretty cool...incredible scenery you have up there! Cheers Gregg.
Hey Gregg, there are fans located on the other side of this 14 kilometre tunnel and a door that opens and closes which is located at Bear Creek on the CP mountain subdivision. Thanks for the great comment I appreciate it 🙏
Those engines coming out of the tunnel seemed to be just this side of Adhesion. A steep stretch could be the difference between moving forward or sliding backwards!
No adhesion problems with the Mount McDonald tunnel. That is why it was built for the heavy west bound unit trains like coal, potash and grain. Prior to it being built they had to climb up to the 5 mile Connaught tunnel using 6 SD40-2’s as pushers stationed at the Rogers pusher station.
@@TracksideTyson as a young diesel mechanic, I used to work on the engines in the Connaught Tunnel fan house back in the 70’s before the Mt. MacDonald tunnel was built
Yes I have but when I visited the back lighting wasn’t very good and that area had a lot of black diesel exhaust suit so it’s certainly going to need a re visit another time for some better angles. Thanks for watching!
This one gives me great memories ! Thanks.
Really happy to hear that Thank You for watching 👍🏼

Great video TT, I love that mountain, it’s amazing….
Thanks for watching Carol!
Drove 4 times through Rogers Pass, but never saw a train, did not know spots to stop, very nice video!
Same for me until this trip! They are quite hidden unlike other locations I’ve visited.
Mount MacDonald Tunnel is pretty cool lookin’.
I thought so to
Fantastic videos! I love the sound of the engines working hard up the grade.
It’s the best! Thanks for the comment 🙏
One of my favorite locations in the Selkirks
Thanks for watching John

It was a great location, great to catch the engines working hard climbing the hill!
Nice catch
Thanks!
Thanks Tyson for a truly great job on this. I've always been fascinated by anything to do with these tunnels.
I certainly appreciate your support thank you Dwayne

You have some solid points and it’s nice to have viewers notice detail in my movies, thanks Mike for your support 🙏
Loved the scenery shots - they helped put the struggle of the railways and highways through the mountains into visual context.
Thanks a lot TJ
@@TracksideTyson I agree with tjguy98 and you Tyson aswell.

@dougberry1011 Thanks for that info, there is tons of cool history here indeed!

Have you ever visited the East Portal of the Mount MacDonald Tunnel to see the tunnel door in action? Awesome job btw

Cool can’t wait to see that.
It's the longest in North America ✌️🎉👍🇨🇦
Thanks John 👍🏼
Was the tunnel of Mount McDonald founded in 1988 just wanted to ask that's all.
Robert.
