    Mate, love the video and love the tasteful mods done ✅ to the Duster. I'm doing a 1970, feel about the same way you did the back end caught my eye. One thing, in America that hang you for putting a Mustang 🐎 tank in a Mopar!
    J/k can't wait to see more of your videos,
    cheers,

      G'Day, thank you for watching and the kind words. Yeah I know the issue with the Mustang tank. Let's just keep it a secret. I have my reasons for it and can go into depth why, if you care to know. Anyway, stick around. I will have more vids in the future. I'm just dealing with family at this stage and will get back to UA-cam when I can.
      Have a lovely rest of your day, Rob.

    Nice Duster. I like your touches. Looks very factory. My first car was a 1972 Hemi Orange Duster. Hood and stepped just like yours. I bought the car at the age of 17 in 1976. I really liked that car. I still have dreams when I am cruising around in it. Have fun and be safe. Or just have fun. I know how those Dusters can be.

    Bought a '69 Swinger from Central, West Texas. Came from the original owner, who had done some "Interesting" mods in about '78 or '79 when the car wasn't worth much...'68 383 powertrain & 8.75 from a Road Runner, all shackled up with BBP wide wheels on the back & SBP stock, 5.5" wide wheels on front. Car was parked in about '81 and sat way out in his "Back 40 (acres)" until my buddy got several vehicles from him. As of now, the floor has been replaced (rubber floor cover trapped water & killed the forward, front footwells), bucket reinforcement plates are in, the manual tranny hump is in, it's been on a jig (making sure it's straight & true), subframe connectors, torque boxes, inner fender reinforcements, the 26" thick & reinforced core support, and I have a bunch of parts for the car's restomod. Like what you've done, my goal is along the same vein as your Duster. Very sharp!

      G'Day, Thanks so much for watching. I like what you are doing and would love to see a walk around (as it is)! I love the story about it siting around in Texas. And the fact the car is currently on a jig. There's so much more to tell about my Duster but I thought it would bore people. It's tubbed, the rear springs are moved in and has chassis connectors that the roll cage was welded to. But I cut the cage out just above the floor. So it's all still reinforcing the "frame". There's evidence the Duster was also on a jig or rotisserie. Like I said so much more to tell. Please if you do a Video on your Swinger please forward the link to me. Anyway, have a wonderful day. Robert.

      @RobsGarageDays I think the details actually act to inspire or kick off people's thinking/creativity. Be it chassis, braking, handling, color combos, wheels/tires, interior ... welcome, too- I enjoyed you going over it all & telling the story

    I'm a big fan of the rallye rims on them cars. The strobe decals that are on the hood are from the Duster Twister it was a option that made the car look like a Duster 340 car with the shark tooth grille and such but came with he 225 or 318 only the regular 71 Dusters had the same grille the 70 had only the Duster 340 and the Twister came with the shark tooth grille for 1971

      Hi, Yeah I love the rallye rims. The stripes and black out hood are definitely a mix match. It had a different grill off a valiant when I got the car. I had to put a shark tooth grill on it. You know 1971 and all.

    Did you have to at the scoops on the hood or did by the hood that way and if you did what kind is it

    • @RobsGarageDays
      @RobsGarageDays  Рік тому

      Hi, the hood scoops were purchased from Classic Industries (California). I then carefully placed them over the holes in the hood and drilled the holes accordingly.
      The hood is an original item. Thanks for watching. I hope this helped Have a great day!

      Uncle Pete had a 71 Duster , bought it new , was tan , crashed it in 3 months , sold it to his little brother , Uncle John who was 15 , he and grandpa fixed it , had it painted Blue , installed a whip antenna , hooked up the CB radio , and his Handle was Blue Dust ,

      Hi Joe, that is a cool story. I mean sad too. To hear Uncle John and Pa fixed it together, well that's the cool thing. Good that family fixed it together. And blue dust that's a sweet color. I'm guessing it's a silvery blue? Ha, I used to use UHF myself but there's too many heroes on the CB now days.@@joelaichner3025

    I'm not a fan of the whole aftermarket interior I like the factory look I notice you have the manual shifter in the middle of the hump were factory 4 spd mopars came out the side of the hump there was a piece that came out the side of the hump instead of the center anyway as long as you like it that's all that matters. I hope you kept all the factory pieces just in case you want to put it back or want to sell the car those factory parts will be good to have.

    • @RobsGarageDays
      @RobsGarageDays  8 місяців тому

      Hi, unfortunately when I acquired the vehicle it car never came with any "Factory" trim. It had some other (brand) buckets in the front and NO back seat. It had a full roll cage and was built for drag racing. It was trimmed in 90's looking grey with yellow stripes. The carpet was light grey. The dash had big autometer gauges with a yellow dash surround. Hence the outcome of the interior it has now. As for the gearbox, it has a Tremec TKO600 5 speed in it. That's why the shifter is in the center and not to the side. I have most of the parts I pulled off or replaced but the car was in no way "Factory" when I got it any who.
      Thanks for the feedback. Thanks for watching.

    And just to let you know the yellow that was on it was a proper Mopar yellow. It was from a 2003 2003 viper race yellow. It already was a Chrysler color!

    Sweet looking car,
    Only bad part is the confederate flag and the racism associated with that flag

    I can’t believe what you’ve done to my car! If you wanted a car that you wanted to make your own you should’ve got one that wasn’t already fixed. You should’ve got a garage fine or a junker. There was a lot of love and a lot of money put into this car and you just ripped it off! If I would’ve known that you were gonna do this to my car, I would’ve never sold it to you and I mean never

There was a lot of love and a lot of money put into this car and you just ripped it off! If I would’ve known that you were gonna do this to my car, I would’ve never sold it to you and I mean never you you know, I’ve listened to you talk on and on and on about what the car had before you started doing anything to it. It sounds like you were degrading either me or the car. I don’t think I appreciate that. The car was the way I wanted it not you.
