I am so happy to see your vintage dolls collection and your collection growing so fast! I love both cherry Merry muffin and lady lovely locks❤️ Thanks for always sharing your restoration tips so that’s make me will get more vintage dolls even they are not in very good condition. Btw, your nails look great, did you do the gel nail yourself? Have a great day Lau ❤️

Thank you so much ❤~ haha yeah for some reason my doll collections grow pretty fast (although I always say that I actually don't collect dolls...^^°)
I personally love the toys that I spent time on restoration even more than the ones that came in really good condition. ❤
I did my gel nails myself for a very long time. Some years ago I stopped.
But that's why I have all the equipment. Right now I'm wearing press-ons but covered with one coat of clear gel to make them more shiny and the deco more save on there.
thank you always for your sweet comments ❤❤❤

I think the purple horse was for Maiden Fair Hair. The pink-white one was for LLL.

The dolls all look lovely. I think I especially like maiden curly crown because the hair turned out so amazing
And yeah you can give clothes to all naked duchesses 😂👍

Hey Lau. Not sure if you have one. But I would love a video on how to fix doll hair. I tried to boil wash my lil miss mermaid doll but her hair went straight. Any suggestions would be helpful

      Heyho,
yes, if you just boil it in hot water, the hair gets straight. You need to have the curlers in and than put her in hot water and then let her dry like this.
Please have a look at this one of my videos : "Curling doll hair with boil perm tutorial - vintage Lady Lovely Locks, Cherry Merry Muffin" ua-cam.com/video/32Qb6kv2E0g/v-deo.html

You mentioned you reattached a head during the video. How exactly is that done. I have a lady lovely locks from when i was a child, its in fantastic condition but the head can easily be removed. I still have the ball mechanics attached to the neck, curious what went wrong. Thank you 😊

      Hello,
if your doll still has the ball joint attached to her neck and nothing is chipped off then I guess it is fully intact any maybe just easily removalbe. The dolls that I repared had chipped necklines with the ball joint completely broken off. I molded a new ball joint into the neckline with Worbla (thermoplastic material) to be able to re-attach the head. I guess that's not the case with your doll.

@@LauSkypainter Thanks! In my case I guess that is the issue. Everything on the ball joint is intact. I read or heard that putting the head in hot water helps it mold better to the joint? Wondering if this actually helps.

Hi Lau, I am restauring my first Lady Lovely locks, she is the ballerina one, I love her so much. What's the name of the material you fix the neck peg with again? These dolls are gorgeous but they often come in poor conditions, although they are very 'fixable' and can come out beautifully :)

    • @LauSkypainter

Hey, in this video I show it on a Skipper doll. The video is old and not that good but I don't really enjoy making restauration videos/ tutorials. So I would advice to do more research on the internet maybe you come across another better way for you to fix the neck situation. It also depends on how much was broken off or if you still have the neck peg or not.ua-cam.com/video/dRHCiIhmWDQ/v-deo.html
from minute 31 onwards I show how I repared the neck with "Worbla". The material is sometimes also called "Cosplayflex". It's a thermoplastic material the gets soft with heat and quickly cools down and gets hard again. You could probably do the same job with this epoxy putty stuff called "Milliput" that customisers use for sculpting but this one needs to rest half a day to get hard.
I mostly use Worbla/ Cosplayflex and in some occasions Milliput when there is more broken off from the neckline so I can sculpt it better, sand it down etc. and can paint it better afterwards to match the sklin color if there was a chunk of plastic broken off.
But I really advice not only to trust in what I do but do more research on the whole internet.
This is just what works best for me since I have experience with Worbla for years and years because of my cosplays.
