A Chat with Dermot Power and Rob Bliss

We met with UK based concept artists Dermot Power and Rob Bliss on Thursday 28th January. Dermot and Rob have a very impressive combined film resume and include movies such as the Harry Potter franchise, Star Wars prequels, Kong: Skull Island, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ready Player One and many more.
The Concept Art Association is an organization committed to elevating and raising the profile of concept artists, their art, and their involvement in the entertainment industries. We are creating a community and have events throughout the year with an annual Concept Art Awards Show where we showcase and recognize these behind-the-scenes individuals working in entertainment concept art.

All the pros I've worked with over the years have been very open about technique and eager to share. All shutting down acomplishes is people wont share back. We all need to continue learning You can teach process, but it isnt giving away WHO you are as an artist. Ive been on the industry 25 years, still love it, but that said I absolutely will not work with really difficult people, got my head around that in the 90s.
