I’m 66 years old 32 years driving a truck now retired I’ve always dreamed about those big boats ,you’ve turned my dreams into reality with your videos thanks Jo god bless stay safe 🙏🙏🤠
Hi Buddy i have been sailing for 12 years on different ships but mainly passenger now I became a class surveyor and sometimes I think to go back... But not sure? 🤔 Any thoughts?
Very few videos do I enjoy with music, but MR Joe this was outstanding. The music was perfect. I swear for a minute I could smell the salt in the air. Hell of a job.
Just popping up to say a quick thank you and add a prayer for all of you that work in shipping. The last few days have I’m sure been hard, may those workers lost be at peace. I know we all take for granted things going smoothly daily. I couldn’t help but think of this channel in the wake of the Key bridge tragedy. Not just Joe but all of the characters he has brought to us, and their daily work. May God watch over sailors, shippies, support crew and workers in ports across the world.❤
The music and production blow me away every time! Another good one Joe!
Always look forward to your next drop Joe, keep up the great work!
Merry christmas Joe!
Im going back to sea after 3 years break while I tried to settle on land. It called me back though. Your videos help to get ready for it!
Cool footage! Thanks for filming this stuff. This is stuff I'd never see in my life otherwise. Cheers!
Nice one Joe, have a great Christmas. I have enjoyed your content this year & look forward to your videos in 2024.
Always good to get another video. Merry Christmas, Joe.
G'day Joe
Just found your channel a few days ago and watched everything so far. I'm an AB integrated rating in Australia working on LNG ships between Western Australia and Japan. I noticed 2 LNG terminals in this time lapse video. Good jobs if you get the opportunity to work on one, I would recommend it.
Love your videos mate.
I heard the U.S. has no LNG in its fleet, but not too sure.
Yes indeed, Exporting LNG from West Texas (thanks to all the fracking going on over there).
And No, no USA LNG tankers since the days of El Paso (late 1970's), when they built 4 of the Spherical Tank design (commercial failures they were...)
I'm on 1 of the 4 Australian crewed LNG carriers, all being Moss Rosenberg designed 4 spherical tanks. They've been on the run for 30 year's. Project ends in April.
Thank you for taking us along on your voyages. Mariners and Truckers are people we don't know, doing jobs we don't ever think about. But if it wasn't for them, civilized life for the rest of us wouldn't be possible. Fair winds and following seas
I wish to associate myself with you perfect comment.
Wow, what a memory trigger! I was the 2nd Mate on the ST ARCO HERITAGE (I believe) sometime in the late summer 1978 as we docked and loaded in Lake Charles. Inbound we picked up one of the friendliest and professional harbor pilots I ever dealt with (I was the mate on watch heading in and few days later heading out. Sadly, the outbound pilot told us that the inbound pilot had fallen off the jacob's ladder of an incoming tanker and was missing. I remember the weather was pretty bad both incoming and outgoing. On the next trip, we were told his body washed up somewhere in Texas. Joe, thank you for your videos. All are wonderful. Boy how the bridge has changed since my sailing days. Happy New Year to you and all your subscribers and viewers.🎉
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
Couldn't get here fast enough...thank you Joe Franta
This is my new favorite channel. I have been binge watching all of your videos for the past few days. Thank you for sharing your adventures and keep up the great work!
That channel wakes up some memories. In 85/86 I was a snot nosed 21 year AB on the Swedish bulk carrier Stena Arctica and spent many hours at the helm transiting the channel, unfortunately though I can’t remember what we loaded or offloaded there.
Got to admit these are some of the best videos. I sailed for 20 years, no finer smells than refineries and paper mills……I consider myself fortunate to have sailed when I did
Keep em coming Brother
Man that’s crazy, I work on the green tug that helped with the sailing. Small world
Great video and background music! Thanks Joe!!!
I always enjoy your videos, Joe. Wishing you and your family a blessed and Merry Christmas. May God bless you in the New Year.
Cool Vid! Thanks for sharing this stuff Joe, Wishing you a very joyous Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2024.
Joe... Thanks for the continued great content.
I was across the ship channel from your ship on a marsh buggy. We passed by your ship Saturday on a deck boat. Good videos enjoy watching
Very cool. Thanks for posting Joe, hope your well, peace.
Great music...Great video !!
love your videos, super laid back style relaxes me
Great idea! Great video! Keep 'em comin'. We enjoy them all.
I'm a retired Chemical Engineer - that scenery caused me chub up a bit. Awesome scenes of oil & gas and chemical plants, and one LNG plant. I hope you ate some mud bugs down there.
Enjoyed this video again. Thank you Joe. Regards from the Netherlands.
miss you bro, cant wait to see what you post next
Incredible! Merry Christmas Joe! Love that tune! Went right in my “Road Work” library!!
Im going to sea for the first time in October as an engine cadet on a cruise ship and your videos have been really good to watch to get some sort of an idea of being at sea so thanks
Outstanding! Merry Christmas sir!
Well produced and a great tune.
thank you Joe
on point, great time lapse and song.
Im an OS on a Navy contracting ship! Thanks for the inspiration n insights, keep up the adventures
Great video, you found the perfect music!
Been a while a while. Glad to see you back on deck. Been missing your perspective. Cheers 🍺
Merry Christmas Joe! Thanks for letting the song finish. I really liked it. Great video.
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you Dean!
Just found your channel, thank you for what you do! F'n Fantastic Content! You hooked me up with Them Dirty Roses too, got em on Spotify now....great choice of music Joe!
Greetings from Lake Charles! Thanks for the video. It shows a different perspective than what I see docking on those docks most times. The Lone Star State is always in and out of the docks.
Merry Christmas, Joe Franta. 🎄🎅⭐✴
Really cool video Joe!
Welcome back buddy...🎉🎉
Great video!
That was cool! And the music was perfect.
Good vid. Loading out at B-dock on the ship channel. Never seen it from this perspective, and beautiful days to ride up and down the calcasieu ship channel. Thanks!!
Another hard day of labor helping humanity.
Excellent work on this video I love your editing style ❤
love the music!
Awesome! Liked it enough to subscribe. Well done. Cheers.
Love it THANK U
Merry Christmas Joe.
Hi Joe. New Subscriber here..just found your channel, going back to start at the beginning . Take care kiddo.👍🙏🏴🏴
Awesome man!
I used to be a deck hand on those same tugs that docked you Joe was it the Carl and the Edith I still get a little pissed when I think about Harbor Docking and how I was the only deck hand out of the three that actually made it through the 6 month probation period and became a full fledged employee until I had a got damn seizure on the stern and was medically laid off I still regret losing that job cause it's truly the only job that I actually enjoyed doing.
The Song is called "FIX YOU" by THEM DIRTY ROSES 🌹
Same here, come back to us brother miss u!!!!
welcome back Joe
Great tune
Need more videos! I have watched all of them hoping he puts up more soon!
very good job on the video. Now we a full video of the process and a tour of the boat. also you should a 100 days on the great lakes again. keep up the great work my man.
Good music!!
Was that some ‘Pontchartrain Pirates’ trying to board you on the starboard side at the end of the video? 🤣
Merry Christmas Joe
What a cool job. And a cool geographic area.
That was badass!
My new addiction…Mr. Joe.
Merry Christmas Joe!

Thanks buddy! I'll be home in March cant wait to see you
Thanks buddy! I'll be home in March cant wait to see you
You have a very Positive outtake on this industry . Very well be that you had good experiences. I also think it's important to put a realistic idea what it's like to work on a ship.
Base pay 56 hour week
Can be working with some pretty rough dudes.
Guys that have been in a lot of trouble before.
Works better for single guys
Can be very very difficult in relationships
Difference between SIU union workers and Officers.
If there is personality conflicts there's no getting off the ship..
Some ships you rarely ever go to shore.
Some ships if they're making long passages you're going through time zones and your work shift is Changing all the time..
Most important
A lot of people are not being relieved . end up being on the ship many many months. You end up with a lot of unhappy people and you're working with them..
Thanks!
Thanks so much Thomas!
Citgo B dock. Nice video
Love it
Dittos on music selection 💪
I spent a lot of long nights and days there in Cameron, LA right where the ship channel meets the gulf at that 1st LNG facility when it was under construction 👍
Hey man just checking in you’re ok! Been a while since your last video. We miss you!
All is well. Back on land after a long trip and getting the next videos ready!
Joe I enjoy watching your videos, always you said" I love my job" and there are a lot of reason, the main reason is to see God creation, sun rises, sunset, and some fish jumping ahead the ship nice is very nice I like you videos
Just came across your channel and I’m simply amazed at how cool your job is. My question is do you ever get motion sickness and how do you deal with it?
Im an uber driver and this song made the cut to be on "THE PLAYLIST"
That was cool
Close to home! 3 miles east of the Mobile Bay!
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year
More please!
Hey Joe I’ve watched a few of your videos and I’m currently thinking of switching from the Gulf to SIU coming in as C Book you think that would be a wise choice I have my AB Unlimited with RFPNW,BST,Lifeboatman and also VPDSD 3:39
i enjoy your timelapse but can you make a video how you make them so i can make also some timelapses of my ship.
You visited my home town. At 1:36 you passed where I work.
Miss your videos! Hope all is well
Mr Fanta, I am once again asking for your vlogs.
Saw a sticker you put up in the ATL airport
You plan to release a video anytime soon? I really enjoy your content! Thanks!
I have a theory on why he hasn’t been posting.
If you notice he’s been an AB for a while now, so at this point he probably already has his 1080 days at sea and is currently at Piney Point getting that license since it takes like 6 months worth of courses to get that 3rd Mate license, I could be wrong though😂 I was at Piney Point too so that’s how I come out with that theory
Very good theory! haha But I just got off a long contract. So just spending time with family and getting some new videos assembled.
Miss the new content Joe. We hope you are doing well
Not sure how often you respond to videos and which hall you sail out of but the Marjorie C is a great ship to work on. Unfortunately the only non-permanent position they have (at the time I worked there) is GVA (basically OS) but the run is sweet and the crew is awesome. Job usually comes in at the Wilmington, CA hall.
Also, the name of the ship isn't mentioned but this has to be an APT tanker, if this is the Bay State I was one of the original crew to take this ship out of the NASSCO San Diego yard. I even have a plank owner certificate. They're pretty easy to identify because the deck is EXTREMELY crowded, specifically some sort of pump that blocks the passage near the port/starboard walking area. It's like the ship is a foot too short athwart, a real change for the worse.
That's a really fast ship.
Just found your channel. Is music on all of them??
👏👏👏👏👍
I made the mistake of drinking the Kool Aid and was brainwashed into becoming a Corporate Drone.
You're living how a man should live.
Joe just checking on you…I need some more of those ship videos! Hope all is well
More to come!
Hey Joe.
