Life too short for long UA-cam videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
Welcome to the show! Well, it’s been an emotional week. The brilliant, mesmerising, mercurial and completely mega Andy Timmons has been with us to play some shows, create some tones and indeed make this here video.
We go through Andy’s approach to guitar tones, get a personal demo of his new Halo Dual Echo from Robert Keeley and generally chew the fat on life, playing and this weird obsession we call guitar.
He even makes us cry. What a week!

I make people cry with my playing for a very different reason.
🤣🥲
Lol 😅👍🏻💥💯🌟
😂
I feel ya bro.
Same here, bro! 😂😂😂😂
Emailed Andy (on behalf of everyone) to see what the piece that made Dan cry is called, and here is his reply:
"Hi Adrian!
Thanks for the kind words :)
The song is called "Here Lies The Heart" and is very much a tribute to Chopin who I love dearly.
It will be part of an upcoming record called "Bitter Suites: The Outlier Nocturnes", a collection of solo guitar pieces.
Keep playing!
Andy Timmons"
Yesssssss. Looking forward to the tabs! Thanks for the effort!
@@masoncusack it's really not as hard to figure out by ear as you might think. A lot of repeating patterns. Give it a try, it's good practice!
Beautiful playing Andy, extraordinary indeed. 👍
Andy is not only a beast player but also reply to his fan's emails. What an absolute legend!
@@TheMrClaus He's a proper gentleman is Andy. Tremendous surprise to get a personal reply!
As Ben Eller said, “There’s no such thing as the best guitar tone in the world… but Andy Timmons has it.”
9 months later….and it’s still true.
EJ: “hold my beer”
Andy Timmons makes the world a better place.
I'm glad everyone gets to see what a wonderful person Andy Timmons is, and what silly good tone he has. Someone on here said it perfectly, Andy doesn't play any throw-away notes, not even when he's unplugged and talking with people...he is always purposeful and in emotional-tune with his guitar. What can't be understated is, how Andy's constant guidance pushed us to design something better than we ever could have without him. Andy is a force that brought us to a higher level. Thanks Andy, Dan, and Mick!
Thank you Robert! And congrats on Halo. Our best to everyone at your end! X
I wonder how many Halos will be ordered today. I ordered mine. Thanks, Robert; these things matter to us. -G
What a great partnership between yourself and Andy in producing a great pedal Robert 😊👍
Great shout Robert! Thanks for putting this together TPS. Legends all around. So stoked for you!
Andy is an amazing player (wish I could play more like him, but it does help that I have several of the same pedals, including the Halo).
FROM MINUTES 13:15 TO 15:00 IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS I'VE SEEN SOMEONE PLAY. ANDY TIMMONS IS ONE OF THE COOLEST AND INSPIRATIONAL GUITARISTS ON THE PLANET
I mean… we all agree.
So why are you yelling at us? 😎🤠
Appropriate use of all caps friend.
Agreed ! Apart from the notes he chose to play...for me it's the spaces he uses in between that dramatically emphasises each note....genius....and yeah and it hit me right in the feelers....
Such an absolutely beautiful episode. Music is such an inherently emotional thing and to see it manifest this way, even without any lyrics, just pure emotional guitar playing, is a pleasure. Andy is a legend.
It's so much fun watching you guys in this video. Andy made me cry last week so many times - he is truly an extraordinary, special musician and human being!
You are in the same League Tom.
I am fortunate to live in Plano, TX about 10 mins from where Andy lives and hear him play often at the sanctuary. Talk about a tear jerker, at his show a few weeks ago one of his former students passed away and Andy played electric gypsy on the kids guitar with his family there as a tribute to him.
Let us have a crying competition to see if we can find who is the most well known musician to cry along to Andy’s guitar playing 😂
Love your playing/technique/enthusiasm for the art and science inherent in the modern guitar. Players like you and Andy give much to us fans who strive to improve. Thank you.
@@JeffAlpha1 That kind of comment could use a warning label.
The most striking thing for me was that over the whole week I never heard Andy play one note he didn't mean, even when sitting around unplugged. Nothing thrown away, Nothing half hearted. I'm not sure I've ever seen someone so in love with playing guitar!
Paddy! X
@@GCKelloch I never said anything about 'wrong' notes... Everyone makes errors and as you say they can lead to great things! What I mean is he just puts his all in whenever he's playing, everything is done with great intent. Makes me want to ensure I'm doing the same.
@@GCKelloch II di che uii
Man that is a great observation 🤘🏻
I was at Fat Lil's on the Sunday. I loved your playing Paddy.
13:16 I came back and had a cry with Dan at this. Sometimes it's just needed to hear music like that
Edit: it's released on Spotify - 'here lies the heart'
Dan’s unashamed attitude reacting emotionally towards guitar tones and notes is inspiring. It shows how passionate he is about guitars. It also shows the power of music. Sometimes we make ourselves to busy with life and pushing emotions down and music allows us (sometimes even forces us) to relax our minds and allow those emotions to come up. It’s moments like these when we can forget the things that separate us and have unity. Man, good stuff Andy and thank you Dan and Mick for providing an avenue for this to happen.
Very nicely put, Stephen. Moved by that section of the video, I've just lost myself for over 40mins, tuning into my intonation, note choice, tone, picking etc etc - and feel so good for it. My playing is a million miles away from Andy's - but for that 40mins, I attuned to my emotions and found ways to express them.
That made me cry too. Someone give this guy a film to score.
Andy Timmons playing is magical!
Real men cry. The strongest cry in response to guitar.
I remember seeing old 80s videos of Andy and he was an absolute speed demon shredder, capable of all the tricks and techniques with the most technical. Andy Timmons is what happens when you learn technique to a super advanced level and are then able to remove your ego completely from your playing
That’s a nice way to put it. Thanks Jared!
@@ThatPedalShow I agree. 👍🏼👍🏼
Very well put!
I listened to this on headphones (as I usually do) and Andy's sound was so amazing that I had my girlfriend also listen. She and I were driven to tears because of the beauty of his sound, his touch, his overall sensibility. I understand why Dan had to leave the room. It was a bit overwhelming on headphones, I can only imagine what it sounded like in person. Thanks TPS for opening my ears to players like Andy. Fantastic show... keep them coming.
I love that Andy gives them credit for being great players and singers in their own rights! So true! All three of these guys sat there are massive inspirations, fountains of knowledge and models of humility and professionalism.
Thank you Adam!
Thank you Adam!
I totally agree. We are in forever debt with TPS. It is a gift sent from heaven. Its part of our lives and hearts.
Andy strikes me as such a genuine guy - to just break off from what he was saying and give a lovely nod to Mick and Dan in the way he did.
How is this normal? I didn't cry, just felt overwhelmed and enjoying every note...10 seconds later Dan cried. Andy is an amazing guitar player, don't get me wrong, very knowledgeable but he has something that not all the virtuosos has: that feel, the taste, and that's something that makes you feel, no need of thousands of notes, fancy scales, just feel, articulations and taste. AMAZING SOUND!
Such an amazing show for us guitar players, really valuable! Thank you Mick and Dan for your effort and dedication also for your amazing guitar playing and knowledge.
Congrats Mick on the engineering here. Capturing such an authentic representation of what I can only imagine is one of the few “audience with god” moments. Andy is truly a great... among the Beck, Trucks, Lukather crowd where no matter how much you understand about guitar, you can’t fathom the level that the very few are at one with the instrument and the music. Thanks so much for this.
Thanks Tony! I appreciate that. In one way it’s easy - the source is sooooo good, all I really have to do is not screw it up. Ha!! Aside from that we’re now at a point where we’re using zero plug ins or extra EQ on the guitars. Mics > Mic pres (minimal EQ) > recording machine. I have just got a lovely stereo analogue bus compressor and there’s a tiny bit of that in here too. Really happy with what we’re capturing these days. Thanks man!
@@ThatPedalShow Which microphones are you using here? I know I've seen them used in this show a hundred times, but I don't remember what they are. They do an amazing job of capturing all the high-end details of Andy's pick attack.
Yeah I was nearly ill from how good this one sounded I’m still shaking
Please add my voice to this particular chorus. Mick, you are *incredibly* good at your day job. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
Tony's absolutely right here Mick, you've absolutely nailed the sound here. I have a ridiculous set of headphones and this is one of the best things I've heard through it.
I didn't know Andy Timmons before this video. That bit that makes Dan cry is unbelievable.
Love the way Mick and Dan are shaking their heads at Andy’s astonishing tone and playing. What a monster player he is!
It’s about the only response we can muster when it’s happening Bill. Truly in the presence of something far bigger than guitar playing here. We are lucky boys!
@@ThatPedalShow I'd be exactly the same!
@@ThatPedalShow “the channel is wide open” when Andy plays guitar. Giving a voice to that which is unknown. What music is supposed to be. He’s an incredible musician. Great episode gentlemen.
@@ThatPedalShow Boys, someone is using your thumbnail and is handing out fake prizes on telegram. Just a heads up. Cheers.
Such a gracious player and spreader of his tone. I was very pleased to see the compressor, and the several gain stage paths and their dynamics.. Aces everywhere!
I tried to like this twice but it wouldn't let me.....wow..Brilliant. Dan's eyes said it all. Thanks TPS and Andy
Andy Timmons is so on top of his game it's unbelievable.
Can literally bring you to tears with a bending.
And that tone...
Ultimate mastery over the instrument, without being in any way flashy, and clearly a very humble and engaging guy. Andy Timmons, you're incredible.
I was listening to the first 25 minutes of this episode driving into the office, so I wasn't watching, just listening. And I teared up at exactly the place Dan did. Such beautiful melody, touch and tone. Now, back to finish watching this great episode.
an absolute pleasure - frankly one of the best shows ever. Andy is such a likeable, humble, funny and talented guy - I could listen to him for days! Thanks so much lads
Andy seems to be the most genuine guy. Love hearing him play, but also just love hearing him talk about his passion for music.
Dan has a great heart. God bless him. Its possible to see in this interview the pure goodness of this people that happen to play guitar.
My God!! Through my headphones Andy’s tone and touch is just otherworldly. Thanks so much for this video.
What an incredible player and a wonderful man. I always remember emailing Andy probably 18 years ago now asking him about some specialist markings on the Electric Gypsy tab I bought from his site. He replied explaining what a tapped harmonic was. Absolute legend with some of the greatest tones I've ever heard.
Perhaps the most enjoyable 1 hour 13 minutes and 46 seconds ever. God Bless you all. Absolutely superb.
Dan having a genuine emotional reaction to Andy's playing might be the greatest thing on YT rn.
Effortless flow of pure creativity, genuine musical expressions, and an incredible humbleness is what makes Andy a one of a kind musician, composer and guitar player. Wanna learn about touch sensitivity, dynamic nuances and chordal articulation? Carefully watch the effortless synergy between both hands. He is not just a great guitar player, but a musician and composer at heart. The way he is expressing emotions through his unique choice of notes and intervals is what makes his incredibly unique signature tone, not just his gears. Please never change Mr Andy Timmons ~peace
After watching this… I think I’m moving Andy into the same level as Jeff Beck for the ability to pull raw emotion out of his dynamics. Just floored.
@Dan - Being that moved by music is a beautiful thing, and don’t ever stop letting it happen. For a period of time in my life (much was going on) I couldn’t listen to Jeff Beck’s version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” without bursting into tears. Music and emotion are so closely tied together; great to see you embrace it!
That’s a great comment - I also think that Jeff and Andy both share a wonderful ear for melody.
I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the show. There is a certain Beck's quality in AT's playing and sense for dynamics.
@@Restringlo I think the comment said Jeff Beck? 🤔
The last time I was brought to tears by guitar (read: note selection, phrasing, pacing, execution, et al) happened while I heard David Gilmour, in person. This is the first time I've cried watching a performance on video. Mirror neurons notwithstanding, Andy's music is an emotional sledgehammer, wrapped in the softest feather pillow. Extraordinary.
@@ngsanfo7927 lol it totally did lol I literally searched the internet only to find it was Jeff beck LOL I’m dead
Many times when my son is asleep and I'm home alone, I browse UA-cam for guitar videos. Whenever I want to hear one of the most beautiful guitar tones ever created and one of the most refined playing styles I've ever heard, I keep coming back to this video. Dan and Mick create a perfect atmosphere and it all feels like a chat between friends (which they clearly are) and the result is phenomenal. A pleasure to watch this video again and again. And, finally, the piece that plays at minute 13:19 : God what a beauty!
Thank you Marino!
Every single time I watch that clip, I tear up. Unbelievable. I cannot imagine how you must’ve felt experiencing that live.
Magic.
TPS introduced me to Andy Timmons, Matt Schofield, Joey Landreth, Ariel Posen, Chris Buck (insert everyone else) and my life is better as a result.
Thanks boys
True that…
They also introduced me to Biffy Clyro…an astounding band that gets no North American exposure
Cheers to that
Same to all the above! Thank you TPS!!
True
Thanks!!!
This man is literally a genius at the 14 minute mark I basically started to weep.
The emotion in the playing, even on simple things is incredible.
Right there with you, Kenton. Astonishing and extraordinary. I didn't expect to cry today, and certainly not because of a beautiful guitar phrase. Stunning.
Music is that emotional bridge to feelings we dare not expose in normal ordinary life. It has gotten me through more days and nights than I can admit. 🙏
"you can hear the intent" is on of the most astute things I've heard in years in terms of explaining what I love about my favourite players. Bravo Dan.
13:15 - I don't know how many times I've watched this section over the past week. I can tell you, It's been a lot. Brings tears to my eyes every time. Thank you for touching people with your gift Andy.
It's beautiful and also quite a lot of fun to play. I'd urge any player to try it. It's probably not as hard as it might seem to you and might enrich your technique arsenal with some very usefull concepts. Also good for practicing dynamics. Thanks for the inspiration, Andy!
@Who Cares it’s based on a piece by Chopin called Tristesse. Muse also used a bit from that in one of their songs. Check one of the top comments for more info.
@Who Cares Muse used a bit in their prelude to the song Survival from their album 2nd Law.
As long as I've been playing - 50 years now - I'll never be able to hold a candle to Andy Timmons, but by the cringe, is he ever inspirational. I love seeing/hearing players who are at the top of their game and Mr Timmons really brings it.
This is a perfect example of how music can touch others soul. To move Dan an experienced musician to tears with the beautiful inflection of light/shade and amazing musicianship not to mention incredible effects and tone. Andy has a lot more going on than just a great guitarist and to top all that an incredible human being. It’s people like Andy that inspires me to work harder even though I could never achieve his level. Thank you Dan & Mick for sharing this.
Andy Timmons should go down as one of the greatest guitarists that’s ever played. He touched Dan somewhere deep in his soul, and made him vulnerable. Real men aren’t afraid to be moved emotionally and shed tears. We all need to do it more. I’m so thankful this was recorded.
I can completely understand that pause that they took. Andy’s tone with the usage of the effects is absolutely beautiful to hear. Thank you to all for this wonderful video!
An Englishman, an Australian and a American walk into a bar then another bar and another bar, being superstitious, after 12 bars they started again. Awesome!
Hahahah!
Every time Andy comes to NYC, I go see him at the Iridium, as you gents know. Ben Eller nailed it a couple years ago when he said, "We all know there's no such thing as the best guitar tone in the world, but Andy Timmons has it."
Been subscribed for ages but never commented - you guys have been sitting on this video for over a week now?! How dare you keep this from us ;) Extraordinary… and now I’m finally here thank you so much for your effort, passion and expertise - I’ve taken up the guitar again recently (haven’t touched since my teens) to keep up with my son and starting back at the beginnings I’m so invigorated by it. So to whole TPS team and incredible guests like Andy thank you for the inspiration - coming from a guy who only owns an acoustic! Love from New Zealand, Scott
Thank you Scott!
Dan wasn’t the only emotional one while Andy played that beautiful clean stuff. I could listen to that for days on end.
Hearing Andy's isolated noodling in a small, quiet environment has only made me appreciate his talent even more. What a player.
When you go to heaven and stand at the gates it will be Andy Timmons tone that will usher you through. Simply angelic!
Andy was Olivia Newton-Jhon's musical director for 15 years and it does show!! what a musical genius with the PERFECT guitar tone.
it's what all musicians shoot for, emotion in their audience. Andy's the best. What a great piece of music
Man the way Andy blends in "shreddy" techniques in his playing like trem flutters etc...but it never sounds forced or for the sake of flash is amazing. Like every single note expression HAS to be there..soo unbelievably talented amd musical. Top tier!!
I teared up at the same time Dan did - unexpectedly too. It's one of those things you can't really try to resist lol Just let the sound do it's thing. That was such a heavy, yet uplifting piece Andy played. There was intention in every single note. What a musician.
Was it improvised? Or is it on one of his albums?
@@G-regTaylor I'm sure I heard that it'll be on his next album!
And frankly, it was such a simple melody, You knew where it will go, what will be the next note he will play - it was like we had this melody in us all a long, just forgot it over life’s struggles, our ego and fake goals. And suddenly Andy brings back to us this sudden realisation of what is important, this almost effortless harmony, a sense of calm that we could achieve by being in the moment and letting go of our worries for even just a brief moment…
If you didn't cry on that Andy´s smooth and heavenly part, then you are at the wrong place! This is just Amazing guys!
Is there a more modest and delightful superstar guitar player on the planet than Andy Timmons ? This man has so much feel, understanding of texture and the most incredible chops. He is a role model and an incredible musician.
That slide from 14:22 to 14:23 is the magic note for me. The breakup, modulation and vibrato were so on point. Instant lump in throat. You hear people talk about guitarists making the guitar squeal and cry. It's the first time I've heard a guitar whimper. Andy is magic.
Emotion is an understatement......this guy AT, has inspired me since High School.....his musical talent, taste is a gift for all
First time I heard of Andy was with the great Danger Danger in the late 80's. And what a player his was then and is now. Humble to boot.
Having seen Andy live and on countless UA-cam videos, this has to be up there tone-wise. It is a treat listening on a pair of good cans. Well done to the TPS team! This is going to be a video I’ll be revisiting from time to time. The playing is simply out of this world.
Thanks TPS!!!! I see many asking, but IMO I think 13:16 is based on one of my favorite Chopin pieces: Chopin - Etude Op. 10 No. 3, sometimes called: Tristesse. Andy HAS to record this. Chills!!
it is very loosely based on Chopen's etude. One phrase is true to the original, but the rest seems to be Andy's. However, your comment made me to listen to the etude 3 times :-) But yes, you definitely pinpointed the source right and correctly:-)
@@SN5NThx. The more I listened to that section; the more I think he should record it. :D
@@jmsantel he will! :) See the top comments
Mmmh not really, there are a few similarites but at this point a whole lot of other musical pieces could be considered as "similar"
@@philby8 you can disagree all you want, but Andy himself said it’s based on that exact Chopin etude, so...
I totally would’ve cried too Dan! Dang it, I almost cried just watching you cry. I get it, it’s the tone but also a spiritual thing sitting that close to something like that because you can literally feel heat coming off of it. Since you possess so much knowledge on that blues breaker style transparent tone, I can imagine hearing it played so beautifully up close is unreal. Jealous! 😎 Best UA-cam channel out there.
Cheers.
I would cry too. Fucking good playing.
I'm a 59 year old man. Nothing, not even death, makes me cry EXCEPT music. Always has and i guess always will. An exceptionally beautiful line of be bop jazz can have me full on balling. No shame, it's the ultimate compliment you can give to a musician.
This guy has a touch that can't find anywhere else. He has such great and sensitive playing!! He's like a painter with his rainbow palette of colors, filling your ears with sounds from heaven.
When Andy started playing that magical progression my eyes were flitting back and fourth between Dan and Mick. It really was something else. The tone; the note choices; the dynamics; just wow! 'Andy makes Dan cry (really)' will be one of those vids people will return to time and time again. Hearing that immediately makes you want to play guitar. Friday night in with the lads at TPS! I could wax lyrical for hours phwoar...
I have filed it away and will watch that moment again every day for at least the next week. Momentous.
This is honestly amongst the greatest lessons I have ever received in how to approach a guitar as a musical instrument in general. It's not only about how to shape the tone. What you gentlemen don't say (but can be clearly seen) is just as important as what you say and present. Your passion, dedication, talent, wisdom and humbleness is what occasionally creates these fabulous moments worth living for. We have experienced several of those in this episode.
The power of music: I just want to say - listening to Andy's very moving piece, I've just spent 40mins+ playing, VERY loosely, my own, much shorter, version, listening carefully to my intonation, experimenting with different fretboard positions. My point? How inspiring it can be to watch a true master like Andy whose choice of notes, whose phrasing, technique, attention to tone just makes you reach for your own guitar and lose yourself.
Andy Timmons impressed the hell out of me with not only his playing, but his personality, at the NAMM show years back. He was so kind, so genuinely interested in talking to fans, I barely knew who he was at the time, I absolutely got into his music after meeting him. I can still remember meeting him vividly, and that was 20 years ago, nicest guy in the world, and I don't throw that around often.
I’ll watch this again and again. Thanks so much for having Andy on again. He’s an incredible artist and a finer human. I’ve met him several times, and he is always the nicest and most humble regular guy. What you see in the emotional response is what I’ve experienced every time I’ve seen him play. Such a special guy on his instrument. Great music education but a better ear. Best TPS ever! This one and the Greg Koch episode go down as the two best shows ever. Thank you Dan and Mick for presenting this great platform for us all to learn from and enjoy!
Dan, Mick, Andy... just a big THANK YOU for who you are and what you do. So brilliant, so emotional, so informative. Awesome show, thank you again!
Wow. One of the best shows ever - and just life changing guitar playing. Good grief. If I can recover and see if I should still play, he's really got me rethinking my position on that treble bleed. Wow. I also love the love that exudes from this whole show. The greatest musical things I know came from TPS.
It's amazing how Andy's tone never gets muddy. There's always that very musical sparkle, thanks to the way he dials everything in (and that treble bleed). When he digs in he gets this kind of "chirp" in the notes that really complements the whole vibe of his playing.
I’ve been an Andy fan since 1991. He’s become one of the tastiest players out there. He can play anything. Awesome show!!!
What an incredible player Andy, such feel, such emotion in his notes, he can do more with one note than most can do with a thousand !!, Dan getting all emotional was such a moment, what a fantastic episode, will be checking out Andy's music :)
"Here lies the heart" is just stunningly beautiful! The playing, tone and feel is just incredible. Thank you for this, and for all the pedal nerding you do :)
Andy Timmons' tone is by far the greatest tone ever... and his playing is so expressive... it gets me every single time... just beautiful. when he plays you listen... Peace!
It takes skill to shred
It takes skill and soul to make a grown man cry
I can’t believe how magic of a moment was captured in this video. So much inspiration and emotion in just a few minutes
One of my favorite parts besides the beautiful "Her lies the Heart" is Andy saying "hey buddy." Andy totally feels for Dan and that is what is amazing about Andy. I met Andy at a show in Indianapolis and the guy was so down to earth, talking about everyday stuff. We forget these guys are human even though their playing is other worldly. Andy has become one of my greatest inspirations, even over Satch. He's just a dude from Evansville, IN that has taken guitar to another place in my heart. Every time I watch this I cry with Dan.
Such an excellent episode -probably my favorite to date. Just awesome, thank you for bringing us along. This one's going on the favorite TPS playlist!
I simply love the grins across D&M's faces when he goes into that other world.... You know you're doing OK when that happens.
Well that set the bar for next Friday!
This is like my 5th of 6th time watching this video, exceptional quality content, lads.
u rock!!!
You can tell Andy is just loving every minute of it - playing and chatting gear. Such a joy to see this guys, thank you.
Fantastic episode! To describe Andy’s playing in one word would be - immaculate, his ear, touch, and sensibilities are astounding.
Most of all what a guy!
What a monster connoisseur AT is! The touch, feel and phrasing just ahh! Halo sounds incredible
Wow! Andy Timmons is a melody tour de force , stunning playing , knowledge and economy in perfect harmony, that’s was a real treat, thank you for that ,all of you guys.
What a great video. Goosebumps listening to Andy play. The tone and his playing are just so great. Dan, you're a truly amazing person who should feel no shame showing your emotions like that. We all felt it!!! Cheers guys and thank you for this. I really needed it.
I shared the 'moment' with my family and before it happened, I said... what happens to Dan happened to me. They whispered to themselves before I played it... "Dad cried, I bet." Wish you could know just a little of why the moment was so important and needed for me. Thanks to all of you... and to Andy, thanks for using your instrument the way you do.
Oh yeeeaaaaahhhhhh! Andy was one of the first discoveries I made through you chaps and he's always a joy to hear play and nerd out. I got myself an Angry driver because of him and naturally I make it sound nothing like him
What a great show! I had the good fortune of living and playing in Denton in the late 80's when Andy first came to Texas and trust me, he was every bit as good then. Just killing on a Squire Strat. His musical memory is outrageous. He used to perform "Stump the Guitarist" where for a $1 you could name any song and see if he knew it. Not only did he know it, he knew the entire solos note for note. Next time he's on you gotta try and stump him. Get your wad of $1s ready!
No way! That’s so cool!
@@ThatPedalShow He's still there! Try him. Trust me, every song and solo ever!
WOW thanks guys. I've been dying for a super deep dive into Andys rig with close ups of his actual settings. Soo good!! And Andy is a sweetheart.
This is my joint favourite episode now, along with THAT Joey Landreth one. What a lovely bloke that Andy Timmons is.
This is 1 of the most emotional, love filled and musical shows you boys have ever given us. My life would just not have that high end shimmer w/o YOUR friends!!!!! Goodness.
I love the genuine passion you guys have for music and gear, and now Andy Timmons is one of my favourite guitarists, what an incredible guy.
Thanks for such a great show.
Discovering Andy has been such a treat, to my listening AND playing!
Great video guys, bookmarking this one for sure :)
I'm about 40 seconds in and it's already the best guitar tone I've heard in years. Truly astonishing. Thanks for putting this together guys, I can tell it's going to be really special.
Brilliant episode. Andy is an inspiring player and he seems to be such a lovely chap. I have a Truefire course that I have watched over and over and picked up so much. I must say that there is a definite chemistry between the three of you and he is quite right to heap praise upon Dan & Mick. This channel is a highlight of my week. By Friday I am generally strung out looking forward to TPS, a G&T ( not necessarily in that order) and a gig on Saturday night ( I am lucky enough to play most weeks). Thanks guys.
I can listen to Andy play for hours just warming up. Genius guitar playing and best tone ever. Electric Gypsy is a masterpiece.
One of the best TPS shows I’ve seen so far. Much love to you guys Andy is an awesome soul !!!!
I would have watched 12 hours of this. Thanks TPS,we are glowing out here in TEXAS!
