I think editing audio will make those video great. Simon is unhumanly good drummer, but i enjoy watching drum covers like thomas creimer didnt. High quality audio and video
@@ookk91 The trend is to have too much editing, postprocessing, sound replacement etc. that makes everyone sound perfect but also drummachine-like imho

No, its not. It CAN be a plus, but its also a very easy way to hide flaws making something seem better than it really is.
I appreciate this style of drum covers so much more. One single shot is definitely less "entertaining" to watch than multiple angles with cuts, but it's so much more impressive because of the effort that has to go into playing the whole song well in one single take.
Awesome job. Great technique. Marduk is lucky to have you . Also, respect to Jade Simonetto for recording these brutal drum parts in the first place.
Damn good cover! Hate Eternal is a band that managed to stay constantly brutal even after decades of playing.
Hahaha getting a new drummer almost every album cycle helps from burn out :) Jade Simenetto stayed in the band the longest so far, then Roddy. I could see how playing their set over and over would be one of the most grueling things ever, physically. The blasting and double bass in HE’s music hardly ever stops, hahaha \m/
The dedication, the practice and skill it takes to get to this level is insane.
Just awesome! No edits or any fancy bullshit and obviously none is needed either! Just real and super well played performance and that's it!! We need more stuff like this in UA-cam and none of that inhuman and fake bullshit people call playthroughs :)

I spent the last 7hours slow mo counting each hit i can tell you the results are in. He hit the snare 9246, times the high hat 7458 times, the ride cymbal 3356 times and the cymbols combined 486 times.
Funny, but that's way too high. The world record for single strokes is 1,208 strokes in a minute. If you managed to keep that up for the full 4.5 minute duration of this song, you would max out at around 5400 strokes. Given that this song is 240 bpm of nearly constant blasting, the real total is somewhere around 1400 snare hits. Still insane though.

I don't use it! I prefer the heel-toe :P
It took me quite a long time to get used to it but the trick for me (and it’s still far from perfect) was to start REAL slow (like 80 bpm slow) and get used to the feel of the movement in both legs until it started feeling natural to use it.

Just once I want to go to a show where I can hear the drums this clearly without standing on the side or the back of the stage to hear them acoustically. FOH guys suck so bad these days all you can hear are kicks that sound like a typewriter and the snare is completely lost in the mix during blasts... which is a total disservice to the drummer.
Killer work as always, Simon! BTW, what happened to the "arrival of satan's empire" video? Any chance of you taking a stab at Malevolent Creation's "Nocturnal Overload"? I remember when Roddy ripped that song 20+ years ago it was "holy shit!" good, but I'm sure it would be a walk in the park for you.
