Great video, it's quite special the choice of two different engine models in the same room for a modernization of the same era, Perhaps a winch engine did not fit into the layout of the engine room for the large elevator moreover we see that the wall was dug at an angle for the planetary.
Thx! Indeed that could be the case, restricted space. Also as mentioned in the description, 1.2m/s is an unconventional speed and that might have caused a planetary geared machine to be used instead of a geared machine as it offers more flexibility.
Wow! These are some great planetary geared lifts! But the thing that is a bit odd to me is that the lifts are serving 20 floors, yet the speed is only 1.2 m/s, I live in a high rise with 14 floors and the otis Re-Gen lifts (probably Gen-2 Nova) are 1.6 m/s so I think these are a bit slow, but I still get it as the other Kone EcoDisks on the other phase of the community (which the high rise is in, I won't share the location, but it is in India, Ghaziabad) they are as slow as 1 m/s but they too only serve 14 floors, now don't get me wrong, I still like the idea, that's right, but the speed is a bit slow for the application, great lifts from schlieren, were they relay controlled, because the titel says "modded by Schindler?"
Indeed 1.2m/s is slow for this height. 1.6 would be the minimum in my opinion and it's sad the lifts have not been sped up on modernisation. Personally In woud actually prefer 1.75 or 2m/s for this height, that would be proper. But something like this is almost impossible to find on a residential install. Originally these were either Schlieren Relay or Schlieren Aconic (transistor logic). Which of them I don't know.
Yeah, me too, I do prefer the 1.75 or 2.0 m/s version, also, if they were the Aconic version, they would be great! I love transistor controls, as well as relay, but except for the speed, these are some exceptionally good lifts!
@@BenDeSwert666 It indeed is. There even exists a bigger planetary gearbox than the P420 here, the P450. They can be pretty fast, I have one in my backlog with a sheave speed of 4m/s.

@@Easterbunny1972Die MX-GC ist die Steuerung für den Eurolift. Genauso wie die FI MXB, bzw. FI MXV (Vandalenresistente Version) die Knöpfe sind für den Eurolift.
Thx! Indeed the 1.2m/s is pretty slow for over 50 meters, it's the very minimum in my opinion. Just keep in mind that in Germany there are similar residential towers where the lifts only go 0.8m/s, haha.

Different design, and looks like they are different ages on the ropes as well, as one set is very new. Suspect the one is well overdue for a new cable set, from the evidence on the floor from wear.
The ropes on the big loft surely have been replaced, yes. I don't know about the small one. However, I would strongly guess that the same is the case there as it would be a very questionable decision to only replace the ropes on one lift of a set of 2, where both lifts have new motors and are the same age with roughly the same amount of trips.
Gute Aufnahmen! Spezielle Antriebe der Lifte (besonders des grossen Lift) !
Dankesehr!

I was wondering if it was a planetary geared reduction. That's a strange looking motor. Very cool!

@@TheLiftDragon that's impressive. Up until now, I have never seen a planetary reduced lift motor. And I'm almost 20 years in the business..
Interessante Aufnahme.
Hat das Gegengewicht eine zusätzliche Kette?
Danke!

Nice elevators with nice Schindler 5400 modernization, but slow for so many floors.
Indeed they're pretty slow for the height. This is not a 5400 modernisation because a "5400 modernisation" does not exist.
Planetengetriebe
Genau, eine P420. Es gab bei Schindler auch noch die grösseren P450, beide hergestellt von ZF.
