My better half said you're a bad influence cause everytime I click your vids first thing comes out my mouth is I want. This truck still welcomes me at the door at the hobby shop.
Thank you again sir, I appreciate you and your videos on here. I've learned alot of helpful advice and product review and maintenance advice, as well. Your UDR is so awesome 👍😎 I seriously have been waiting on my beadlock wheels for the Proline Hyrax tires and my Aluminum axle housing for my unlimited desert racer.
Pls tell us how you like the durability and (in the future) longevity of an all-metal setup. With your old setup there was a plastic/stock part that would break during a big hit, but with an all metal setup, I’m curious if it would still be a “basher” that can be driven super hard like you did before
thats a good question, I feel the chassis is absorbing most of the hits now, so far its going ok but I also have an original release chassis and its showing signs of fatigue, all at the back the front is still plenty solid. I have my hopes up on this surviving well over time, with everything being metal there is some maintenance such as cleaning out the joints and lubing them sometimes.
These trucks are a blast. That said, my UDR's rear planetary gear housing just melted, encased the bearings, and shattered the planetary ring when drifting on wet payment... definitely time for me to get hardened steel upgrades
Love the videos quick question I did the whole front end Vitavon and I noticed the wheels don’t line up straight one will but the other points out the other way is that normal and also did you notice if your bulk head was slightly warped!?
Hey Exo, can you do me a huge favor? Can you please check the dog bones on full droop? Im trying to do a complete Vitavon front end like your self. I had really bad luck with Hot Racing for the front end. Their hubs took away the camber on the frront wheels, and also on full droop the dog bones will completely come out from the cups if i give it a little tug! Their upper front arms are not machined to specs and the wheels and tires will touch the upper arms when turning and not even on full lock yet!. Unacceptable! I returned my UDR to stock parts and, the knuckles and the upper arms are my main concerns. Too bad I cannot return the Hot Racing parts. and their customer service is shitty.
I ended up putting limiting straps on the front of my UDR. After I put the aftermarket straps on the back I put the stock ones on the front. Really helps out a lot. Even it being stock in the front it was binding up at the cups. The straps in the front really help a lot.
You should publish a regularly updated inventory of the accessory parts and their prices you install on many of your RCs. I feel it's a disservice to many viewers(especially novitiates) to view these vastly improved RC tucks and not have a quick, easily accessed inventory of their improvements and the subsequent cost when comparing to or considering purchasing the 'stock' item.
I gotta agree with Mike on this. These parts are got as conditions permit, sometimes I get a bunch, sometimes its small things. I'd be a bit afraid to add this truck up as it sits now. I also have another video of it on the way....now I want to add it up. lol if you check the description and use the links you can see the prices.
The Vitavon planatery shows to have five screws to be used for assembly, four on the outer and one in the middle. I notice you only used four. Did Vitavon updated this?
Hey Exo, whats good dude? New subscriber. I just got into RC with my 12 year old son and we both have Slash's. His is 2wd brushed and I got the 4x4 VXL. Does Vitavon make parts for Slash? Also looking to purchase a bigger truck. Would you give your vote to a Maxx or Kraton 4s? We are just bashers and are hard on equipment sometimes looking for someone with your knowledge's input.
Like Lane said, tough choice, since I've had the MAXX I've put a bunch of money into but I see how well built it is. Its almost a perfect scaled down XMAXX. Its not cheap at $550 but its an awesome truck that can backflip with the best of them. As far as the kraton goes, I've seen them be indestructible and I've seen them not hold up well at all, I guess it depends on who worked on it last. Go for the one your son likes the most, you'll be a happy daddy either way. Welcome to the hobby and welcome to the Exocaged channel!
Gear reduction. The rear axle has one in it too so the axle ratio is around 9-1. This reduces torque twist. We don’t have a way to just use a ring and pinion at 9-1 so a matching planetary is in the trans to even out the ratio front and rear.
I would not make everything aluminum because its heavier and puts more stress on the motor. When you land it will have a much harder impact due to its weight.
I know a guy that’s working on a carbon fiber chassis at the moment. He’s working on a full line of carbon fiber parts for the UDR. Along with braces for the cage since it has a lot of flex in the back.
When you strengthen these parts, other parts must be broken to absorb the impact and cause serious damage. Please don't change them to aluminum parts. Plastic is the best material for a RC car.

lol well, you know it can run great AND look great at the same time

Everytime I see your UDR it makes me want to order one. I really like the new Heatwave body from proline too for the udr
Pp
It's yours brother you drive it like you want to!!!
Love these UDR's

Thanks EXO!
Driveshaft cups look “a bit” worn.
Love my UDR😎
lol yeah they are on the list to replace
Appreciate what you do on your channel 👌

Author from vitavon posted a while back that he's working on a full 7075 UDR chassis.
You will be back for those outdrives soon!

You don't want to see the prices for Vitavon parts

Wow impressive that vitavon is proving its worth... total impressive footage at the end of them tries blowing up grab & Go! Lol
still waiting on all my vitavon steering parts myself. been over a month now
this whole covid thing has backed up a LOT of things, it sucks I know.
Wow those are awesome

Maxx or the Kraton is a hard pick. I'm more a Traxxas fan than an Arrma fan and I think I'd go with the Kraton myself. Good luck.

Nice driving
Those are beefy vitavon a arms very nice.
What is the point of the planetary gears in the trans ? Does it act as a center diff ?
Gear reduction. The rear axle has one in it too so the axle ratio is around 9-1. This reduces torque twist. We don’t have a way to just use a ring and pinion at 9-1 so a matching planetary is in the trans to even out the ratio front and rear.
Vitavon yes please.
Great job
If your cars aren't breaking your not playing with it enough.
I would not make everything aluminum because its heavier and puts more stress on the motor. When you land it will have a much harder impact due to its weight.
What is the purpose for the planetary gears in the trans and rear end"
Gear reduction.
are you sponsored by vitavon?
lol no
I don't like how they use metal shielded and bearings instead of rubber shield.
yeah, I'd rather see rubber sealed too, once these wear out I'll put in some rubber sealed ones
Arthur Tsang FTW!

To make things simply to get to 3 hours and 700 screws later… I removed the body
Mojave smokes the udr with no mods ££$$ !
@ 🤧🤣🥵
Im not a very big fan of traxxes though.
IF I DIDN'T DRIVE IT WRONG IT WOULDN'T BREAK.
FOR THE PRICE TRAXXAS COULD HAVE MADE IT OUT OF CARBON FIBRE.
AND INCREASED THE PRICE
I'd love a carbon fiber chassis!!

if the udr was driven scale, how it’s suppose to be driven, nothing should be breaking. lol
I drive it to scale, sometimes like a monster truck lol
your udr rides to stiff
