Hey GizmoSlipTech! I have been watching your videos a lot because I am hoping to buy a new laptop for university since a desktop wouldn't work as well for me so I am looking for a desktop replacement. I am between the Blade 18 4090 and the Scar 18 4090 and watching your reviews I can't quite tell which one would be better so I was wondering what you thought?
Scar 18 has a Numpad. Speakers sound good just a little below Blade. One problem though is it has coil whine. But now Asus allowed full undervolt. So it obviously seems to be the better choice for me. But if you're after build quality and portability, Blade is good to go. It has a good camera as well. But the arrow keys are very small which is a sacrifice for the better sounding speakers. I too watched Gizmo and I think Scar 18 is great because of the cooling solution and the performance is really good.
@@allstargaming2500 Oh thank you! I have an external keyboard so I was never super worried about the keyboard and as well budget isn't really a problem for me. I was originally going to do the scar but I heard a lot more quality control issues with that one so I wasn't sure.
I picked the Blade 18. But the Scar 18 is not a bad choice either imo.

thank you for this, i got a blade 18 4080 thanks to your videos. But in what synapse mode do you normally run your blade 18? you switch to custom and then launch XTU each time you do some gaming? or you just keep it in that mode + run XTU all the time? i normally just run it in balanced mode and don't bother with undervolting. thanks again for all your videos and advices.
I run XTU all the time by default, simply by saving the profile. I change performance modes depending on the game I am playing. If it is a casual easy to run game, I will set my fan modes to low so the laptop doesnt have to work hard. If it is a demanding game, then I will set to highest performance mode usually.

I had a 2020 Blade 17 and that thing ran ice cold, especially after undervolting. At the time, the Blade 15 just couldn't keep up with thermals and it sounds like it's still the exact same. I'm in the market for a new laptop, and while the Blade 18 is definitely a large laptop, it just has such better temperature management and is much more comfortable to use while gaming.
need help , i newly purchase a razer blade 18 2023 , i test out my 1950HX+4080 gpu but only running 16000-17000pts on cinebench may i know whats the problem? and i do the same undervolt as your video 😥
Have you noticed an unusual amount of stuttering and microstutter with either of these units?
I have the Blade 16 4090 4K and no matter what I do, even though the performance is great on paper, it stutters constantly every second with wildly inconsistent frametimes, making 90fps feel like 30 or less most of the time. The only lead I have is that it doesn't stutter immediately after a full Windows reset, but the GPU is stuck at 120W until I reinstall the NVIDIA drivers, at which point I unlock the full 175W as well as the full stuttering. It literally looks better at 120W and the lower framerates that brings than at 175W and higher framerates due to the stuttering, but I didn't pay $4,300 to use it at 120W forever.

@@silverpro8356 That's wrong. That was a simple firmware issue. I had the 2024 version where they ironed out all of the kinks. Awesome laptop. Will settle with the 4090 version. But talking about stuttering; don't get the 2024 Zephyrus G16. That's a horrible laptop.

@@GangStiV0uli just to chime in a bit I've had horrible experiences with Asus laptops I would stay away from them if you want a premium build laptop that is going to last you longer get the blade if you want something that's going to be a headache and have tons of problems get the Asus
Definitely a problem with your Warzone 2 test, the 4080 is running at 50% and under 80W while the 4090 is doing 100% at 120W.

this channel helped me stick to my 3090 desktop and not buy a new laptop with a 4090.. just doesn't seem worth the price for the 4090 right now
