Marmaduke, our 14-month old bearded dragon, came down with a sudden illness, and it was really scary for all of us. This video takes you through the journey of first noticing his symptoms, multiple vet appointments (and nearly $1,000 in vet bills), eliminating a range of potential ailments, and finally narrowing down what made him sick. And of course, since he's all better now, we end on a happy note with him playing in the garden! LONG LIVE MARMADUKE!!!
So glad he’s better now. I was getting worried since there were no videos of him for awhile . Love to marmaduke!
Yeah sorry about the lack of videos lately. With his illness going on, I just wasn't feeling up to making any videos for a while.
I’m so happy he feels better now it’s great to see him felling good and healthy again.
I also commented on your first video
Thanks for sticking around 😊
What a relief he is better. It must of been such a worry ❤🦎
So hopefully your bearded dragon stays healthy
Yep, I hope so too.
Similar happened to my beardie and she's okay now. I also had a few sleepless nights and similar vet costs. I'm glad your beardie recovered
Agh, scary!
I am sorry 😢I know how it feels to lose a bearded dragon 😭
Ahh man, that sucks. So sorry for your loss. There was one really bad night early in his illness that I was almost certain he was going to die, it was a horrific gut-wrenching feeling.
Hello :) Just wanted to ask, did you get insurance for him?
Luckily he's ok.
May have eaten a lightning bug which are extremely toxic to beardies.
He's got a great Mom there.
I'm so glad we don't have lightning bugs in our area. I would be a lot more worried to let him outside. I'm thinking he grabbed some kind of tasty beetle!
So you and I got our dragons about the same time. Murray is now a little over 2 years old.... and I swear I thought I had subscribed to your channel, but apparently not. So I'm subscribing now, and about to catch up on your videos. Of course, I clicked on this one first, and you do such an amazing job with your editing. What software do you use for that? Anyhoo, glad your dragon is doing ok!!!
Glad he's better. It's hard to watch everything they put into their mouth when outside. My friend's baby beardie died last year when he ate a firefly. It was heartbreaking.
Oh man, that is so tragic 😖 😖 😖 I was relieved to learn that we don't have fireflies in our region, otherwise I would be really nervous to ever let him outside. RIP to your friend's little buddy ❤
@@MeetMarmaduke I'm glad you don't have fireflies. In the late summer we have tons. I'm sure a lot of dragon owners know how toxic they are but not everyone. So important to do research on bearded dragons before they own one.
@@colleenm9144 You're right, and I'm glad we can help spread this information!
So scary, but so glad he’s doing great again!!
Yes, it's been a relief to watch him recover!!
Oh goodness! So glad he's safe!
Yay he is better! Sorry for the scare?
Phew it’s great that he’s ok
How did you get the name marmaduke
We had a short list of name ideas while we were waiting to get him, and when we opened the box I just thought ... This little orange dude just looks like a Marmaduke!
Meet Marmaduke oh, that’s pretty cool, would you mind suggesting names bc I’m getting a beardie
I'm glad he's feeling better!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a relief!!
Oh no I am so sorry to hear that 😢
IckyStickyFrog8 this be nothing mine almost broke his leg but he sprained it I think
what kind of greens do you feed him?
Jillian B collards are the best
His favorites are clover and carrot tops. We try to mix in some collards or mustard greens occasionally but he doesn't like those as much. Luckily carrot tops are one of the best greens for beardies! We also give him butternut squash, zucchini, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, apples, etc. but he loves his clover & carrot tops the best!
That floor is Amazing can u tell me how u did it

You haven't done a video in a long time but sadly I know why thank goodness he recovered and didn't die
YES, thank goodness!! It was a tough month for all of us!
Marmaduke :((( ily im glad your better
Thank you!
Meet Marmaduke i knownive been bothering you but I have a question.. would a 3x by 3x by 3x tank word for a full grown beardie? So sorry for bothering you but u don’t have to answer if u do not want to
@@gabby5932 It's no bother, I like chatting with viewers on UA-cam!!! A 3'x3'x3' tank would be 27 cubic feet of space, which is over 200 gallons...that's PLENTY for an adult beardie!! I suspect they would be delighted to live in such luxurious accommodations! Just make sure to include some upper levels or things to climb to get to the top, on so they can make good use of that whole volume, not just the ground space.
Meet Marmaduke alright Thankyou! I took your advice from earlier and looked on Craigslist and they want 100 dollars for the 3x by 3x by 3x,a 60 gallon, and a 20 gallon! They all come with heat rocks and climbing stuff to! Thankyou so much for the idea!!
@@gabby5932 Wow, all of that for only $100?? That's a great deal!
About half a year ago mine ALMOST got his arm broken luckily it was most likely a sprain
Oh wow, how did that happen? Did he fall? Marmaduke is always taking risky leaps off high objects, but he's learned how to fall more "gracefully" so he doesn't hurt himself too badly.
Im sorry but i don't understand why u even wasted this much time recording no offense instead of rushing that baby to the emergency vet
I did take him to the vet the emergency vet on the same day the first symptoms were noticed. His regular vet visit was 2 days later.
