One of the tricks I found was to use the "max loop" setting on the gopros in combination with a 256GB SD card. At 2.7k recording setting , I get ~8hours before it starts over writing the footage. Attached to a battery bank that stays on, I record 14 hours easily and if something happens cool, I have 8 hours to stop the recording and preserve the footage.
Thank you for posting. Great tips to consider. Of the videos I've watched about self filming, you can tell you've spent time behind a camera. I know it's not always easy to upload content, but it very help. Again, thanks
my setup is similar to the one in this video. I'm not sure if it would work the same with your camera but i would assume so. ua-cam.com/video/63dx3-vnrws/v-deo.html
Yea! Id forget about 4K and just get a good HD video camera. A canon G20 or similar. You should be able to pick one up used for under $500. As long as you can use a LANC remote with it you should be set.

Thank You for the OCB tip
I've been self filming for a few years now. I use a sony a6500 and I agree that its hard to self film with the mirrorless. I plan on getting a ax700!
That looks like a sweet camera! Should be really good in low light.
@@bpwhitetails I agree! I do a lot of hog hunting and the pigs usually come out right at first light or at last light
Great setup and thoroughly explained.
Thank you very much , very useful info and I have a few more things to purchase. 👍🙂
You're putting out some good videos, keep 'em coming !

I’m having a terrible time getting my mic to work with my go pro 10 I have the go pro adapter but still not working any tips or suggestions?
Hmm. I always check my firmware to make sure that is up to date. Also make sure your mic is compatible.
Where did you get that strap? I can’t find that style anywhere
doublesteps.com! It's the over the center buckle and strap system they sell.
Besides the gopro is there a more budget camcorder you would recommend for someone who may want to get started self filming but is on a budget?

What’s the name of the close over buckle your using for the arm? Or maybe a link
I purchased it on doublesteps.com. doublesteps.com/product/ring-of-steps-strap-with-separate-buckle-ocb/
