Full marks to that pilot of the first Delta plane. That was some smooth touchdown. I've been on some real boneshakers in the past, oddly come back to the UK. Your second question. Yes I've seen many people try and spend a penny just before touchdown. Very dangerous actually. Nice video mate 👍
Cheers MR 2010. Yes, a smooth flight that first one - as was the second I’ve just never seen anyone get up like that before! The FA wasn’t best pleased!
The baby gag cracks me up every time! Edinburgh’s airport bus is excellent (as well as all Edinburgh buses), got the tram once to try it and as you said, never again.
Most US bound flights go under extra security and have agents posted near the gates that add more questions. It saw it happen to a couple of French nationals when I was headed back from Paris to Chicago.

Nice series in the video. To go through one by one: For me, however nice a bus is, railed transport will always win :) So I'd do the tram 9 times out of 10 (maybe once just to see it!) Delta in the cheap seats seem fairly normal for long haul eco, unlucky with the IFE though. Did you mention it though, as they may give you some miles? At 12:38 you get a clear view of the exact location of the near miss the other day 8-| And the A220, nice plane for a smaller trip length, I did one on Swiss earlier this year. Thanks again!
Cheers mate 😊 yep I’ve done the Swiss A220 too - I think it’s a pretty nice aircraft, shame you don’t get the same IFE as with Delta (when it works!). Didn’t think about mentioning it at the time but a few have said I should’ve. Wonder if it’s too late now, worth a try?
Cheers Gareth, yeh just an observation with the IFE, happens doesn’t it I guess. Overall though, pretty good Delta were and I’ve got another trip with them lined up for next month 👍
Really interesting to see a video of a routing which few if any others have attempted. Personally I would have been tempted to fly via London (LHR/LGW) choosing Jet Blue for the transatlantic sector. But then again the connex are not good and a night stop may/would be required. Cost would also have been higher. Jet Blue says is it has restored the sort of Y onboard catering which was offered by the others many years ago.
Thanks Alex. Yes, tbh it cost me a bit extra to get up to Edinburgh and then an overnight stay, but I thought I’d do something a bit different. Then he reason I went up to Boston was to fly out of there with Cape Air in a Cessna. I ended up in White River Junction for a very specific reason, but that’s another story I will tell in another video! Overall, I thought Delta were fine and the second flight on their A220 - that was a lovely little aircraft. Cheers for the comment. 😊👍
Great trip report. I have only been once to the US in 2005, but someday I'd like to return there. As for the Edinburgh Airport connection, in 2019 we took the tram from Waverley Station (over £6.5 for a one way, but thus far the most expensive Airport link I travelled on was the Marconi Express at Bologna Airport, which last costed me about €11 one way for a five minutes ride, disgraceful, all with the excuse of higher energy bills). I knew there was the Airlink bus that was cheaper, but with all the traffic on that day in 2019 I simply didn't bother, as we were held for sometimes at security due to queues.
€11 is quite expensive for 5 minutes. I think the Heathrow Express can be costly but at least you’re on it a bit longer. I like EDI and now I’ve tried the bus there, I’d do it every time - very comfortable ride with all you need. Cheers mate 😊
