The egg “trick” is an actual thing lmao within the Latino/Hispanic community. It’s mostly done to bless someone or get rid of someone’s negativity, most of the time if you’re around negative people for a long amount of time you start to get physically ill and that is when you get that egg cleanse 🤣 (it actually helps most of the time) and the egg does come out looking weird when you break it into water.

    • @JustTrishy

It was done to me a couple of times as a kid in Mexico bc I had constant headaches from people's bad energies. Both times, egg came out looking weird.

La llorona is so feared by so many people in Mexico(speaking from experience)
Stories of la llorona appearing as a beautiful woman to a drunk man at midnight
And kids hearing her cries close to lakes and rivers, so parents asking them to come home early
Bro literally one of my favorite folktales

It wasn't Lloronna, but when I was younger and lived in San Diego we had a sleep over at a friend's house and they were Hispanic. She told us some scary legends, but one stood out and I have never forgotten it. It wasn't scary really, but it was about a boy who got mad at his parents and ran away. He got lost in the dark and ran into a construction zone. He fell into a hole that had cement in it. He fell in up to his neck and as the concrete hardened he couldn't breathe and he died and when they found him the parents rushed to the site and for some reason not even the large machines couldn't break through so they had to cut off the head.

the Curse of La Llorona is a spin off film to Annabelle and The Conjuring series...it is set in the same universe (as one scene refences). The Nun is also a spin off/ prequel. I hear they are planning to do more like this but we don't know what they are yet. They are going to finish the Conjuring 3 (devil made me do it) and then maybe we'll find out what's next for this series.

La llorona has many names throughout latinamerica like: La Tepesa, la tulivieja, etc... There are many versions of the legendIn one, she was beautiful girl who had a secret relationship with a man from her town, resulting in pregnancy. She drowned the child in a river, and was punished by God transforming her into a hideous creature. In a another she had two kids and her husband cheated on her so out of rage she drown the kids & burned the housed down, once she realized what she's done she was eaten by guilt and starting to look for her children, resulting in her getting stuck in limbo to look for her kids. The "aparitions" of this woman are mostly found in the countryside near bodies of water. There is not a concrete story because its an oral tale but parents tell their children the story for, 1. so they don't go out at night & 2. if they listen a woman crying at night run the other way

So unrelated to reaction itself but my grandfather said he saw La Llorana when he was a teenager (in Jalisco mom’s fam came over to the states when her 2nd eldest brother was born) and even in his now 80s he refuses to go near rivers/lakes (oceans, pools, & small ponds are fine apparently) because he doesn’t want to see her again.

  • @noellegoble7944
    @noellegoble7944 Місяць тому

Llorar, in Spanish, means to cry. My dad was a religious missionary in Mexico for two years. His companion told him about La Llorona when they were passing through a particularly creepy part of the neighborhood they were in after they were coming home from the house of someone they were teaching, later at night than they should have. His companion described her as having the head of a horse. That imagery was enough to completely spook him, and he’s certain that they attracted a bad spirit on the way home, because that spooky feeling only got worse when they entered their apartment, and when he went to sleep, he had horrible nightmares. He woke up still feeling that someone with bad intentions was in the room with him. Some versions of the tale involve the caste system that went in place once the Spanish took control of Central America. In that version (and, apologies to anyone reading if I got anything wrong, this is just the version that I’m familiar with), La Llorona was a native girl who got pregnant by a Spanish officer, who then was called away for duty. When he returned, he returned with a fiancé, completely humiliating the girl he got pregnant. Back then, she wouldn’t have gotten much help and, depending on the area, would have been cast aside by the community. It was in that despair that she drowned her children and herself. Those attitudes left behind by the caste system still exist today. My dad had another companion that he thought looked incredibly alike to figures in ancient Mayan (or Aztec? I forget which one) artwork. When my dad said this to his companion, the guy got extremely offended at being compared to an “Indio”. There are also versions of the tale thought to be even older than the Spanish.
As shown in the movie, there’s a lot of folk magic mixed with Catholicism in Hispanic communities. It’s all really fascinating stuff.
It was also nice to see a religious figure in a horror movie actually be useful and effective. Usually they just die xD

The one who pray for the other women's childrens to be taken by The weeping woman actually pretty much understandable. She just lost her 2 sons.

Didn't know La Llrona was part of the Conjuring series. Interesting. Gives me a new viewpoint on the movie.

I've noticed in some of your videos the Ragedy Ann doll behind you. Did you know that the real Annabelle doll is a Ragedy Ann doll? I have a bank that my grandparents gave me on my first birthday, I'm 48 now but I still have it.

Best part is that even this isn't the end of the conjuring universe. More movies are coming.

I expected this movie to be so scary because this is a tale the is known well in the mexican/hispanic community but it lacked the fear aspect . It was all jump scares . I wanted to feel that feeling of when you hear her cries in the distance and you’re like fuck this 😂 Adults are scared of the her still to this day.

The mark in the hand of this kid means only one thing ... Is a target or is possessed ! Someone cursed this woman with the la llorona curse , someone in that film does black magic! La llorona is not only Mexican urban ledgend but also Spanish , but that film was not just so scary than Conjuring series .... I loved the tribal cultural kind of Mexican exorcism for La llorona , from the priest ..
I loved his acting , the priest is all the money ! In a opposite way with Linda Cardellini 's character ! Tony Amendola ( Father Perez ), steels the show ! The other things go to Raymond Cruz ( Rafael Olvera ) , the tribal priest ! Dignified acting too ! That film is no so much scary but so twisted , and so stressfull cause for all the kid characters , I ' m givin' it ! Dignified film !
And some credits to my beloved Patricia Velasquez ( Patricia Alvarez) for her acting into that role of a superstitious - deranged mother , and to Marisol Ramirez as the La llorona demon herself ! Her villain demon charachter is like the Bonnie Aarons - Valak demon / nun characther !
