Update: Looks like they changed a few things for the army, burning now just regularly lasts forever instead of conditionally going away. And also they made the Tzeentch endless spells kind of compelling since the Burning Sigil gives actual interesting bonuses. Other than that, mostly the same, some units changed in points, so many of the foot-heroes are more compelling, but everything is about as good as it was before.
Thanks you’re the first one to do a real Tzeentch focus (even if Vince V made one with all the chaos faction it was a bit rushed, no offence to Vince I understand the constraints of time) I’m totally on par with what you’ve said and my first list turned around exactly what you’ve said for the daemon part, however I’m glad to see the Tzaangor side since I was still wondering what could be done with these guys!
Excellent video! I don’t play Dirty Birds™️ myself, but am coming to AoS for the first time after playing Fantasy over a decade ago. So just trying to absorb AoS stuff is my goal, and this was informative and fun.
Can't really disagree on what's been said. I'm starting a new faction army and decided to play Tzeentch... So I take all your advice... And head on to victory ✌🏻 Thanks for the vid. 👍🏻
This was good. I haven't seen your past stuff, but I'm generally more of a fan of this kind of heavily edited/scripted content, so I'd love to see more. Also, I think the power of Covering Fire in this faction was worth a mention. Since you can spread Wydflame with it on both players' turns. Also, as for the units I like. . . I like Acolytes, and I wish they were better because I want my Tzeentch mortals to be human followers, not the weird goatmen Tzaangors are. I hope they get a proper scary melee unit more in the style of the Curseling.
Awesome vid! do miss the art a little bit, but appreciate it takes time to make. Next up KO maybe? They changed a LOT in the new edition, and I'm really not sure how they work anymore. [ also steampunk sky dwarves are cool :) ]
Cool - as a confirmed Tzeentch enjoyer I think this could be my second faction in AoS; I’m only just getting into the game and starting with Gloomspite Gitz, as a fan of ye olde Night Goblins. Love a shenanigans army. Some of the models though.
Long version would be sooo amazing maybe a bit later into the edition for more info and probably a lot will change amazing video tho and the short form is also very nice
This was a pretty fun video to watch. I'm wanting to get into AoS with Stormcasts, but haven't really had the time to. Do you plan on making a Stormcast video at some point? I'd love to hear how you'd build lists and play with them!
Just got recommended this and haven't been to your channel before, so firstly hi, secondly I think the algo is liking these vids and ik I'd be happy to see more 🙃
This is exactly what we need for all factions. I'm lucky enough to be interested in Tzeentch but for fans of other factions, there are barely any good how to play videos. There's only "Reading the index" type of videos which doesn't provide much after you learn the warscrolls. Fantastic video, keep it up!!
I went with 3 drops as a personal choice. Right now 'Priority Target' on strong long-ranged shooting units is very threatening. Threatening enough where putting half of your list in your general's regiment can run a serious risk. I would personally rather get better overall value out of my units over controlling turn priority, although I'm sure there is a solid argument for going 2 drop.
Good video! One thing I've been thinking about is that while the chariots don't have a great statline, they are able to be brought back at full value by a lord of change. Although probably doesn't make the burning chariots worth it, when you only have so much room and the hero version is even better value. Also curious on whether you think the krondspine is worth it for the faction, not as spammable as the other lores but it does hit harder and provide some otherwise lacking rend (also been considering regiments of renown to fill this same hole).
Honestly didn't even think about resurrecting chariots, good call-out. Although I mulled it over and I'm still not convinced they are better than bringing flamers, even just a unit of 3 outdamage it significantly and are cheaper. The main issue that comes up with Krondspine for Tzeentch is that without a large amount of manifestations, it's very easy to run out of things you'll want to cast depending on the list, mostly due to the fact so many heroes lack a warscroll spell. Although if you have 5 or less casts I could see Krondspine feeling solid enough to use, Kairos easily can get him on the board every turn.
You know I didn’t even notice that the end of turn ability wasn’t mandatory. Being able to have the option to hurt them or keep the -1 to wound is great. That’s for the review.
I feel like this video should have started with Morbid Conjuration as its the only thing holding the army together at the moment. It has your best and second best unit in it with gravetide and purple sun. It has your highest mortal wound output with spellbomb, and it has your second best utility with snares.
I feel you misunderstand the purpose of the burning chariots. They can, in theory, give you way more burning enemy units, provided the dice are on your side (it’s a 3+, so fairly decent), have some pretty decent anti-infantry shooting attacks, and you can bring them back at full strength with a lord of change when they kick the bucket. Play them right, and you can set the entire mortal realms on fire with them!
Unfortunately rules-wise, they are very much out of date. Although I’ll be making many 4th edition guides soon and updating some of the old ones now that I’m able to get back into making videos. Although the Skaven and Gloomspite videos have fun little lore intros that are still worth watching if you haven’t already
Could you please do Seraphon or maggotkin of Nurgle next? Me and my siblings are trying to get into AOS and I am making a Seraphon army and my little brother is doing Maggotkin. My sister is doing Gloomspite Gitz so she has a video.
Nurgle is definitely on the list of top 3 armies I want to talk about next, a while back I promised a Nurgle video and due to rules changes and my own schedule, that never ended up coming to fruition. I still want to make good on my end and plus I like the army.
How is it that his army talks almost only about factions I care about? Jk, looking forward to your guidance in 4th, love your style. The lack of drawings is kinda sad, but I guess time is what it is.
This is a good one overall. I think you discounted the Lore of Fate a little too quickly. Only way we can hang and win with demons is to control what dies- -1/2 to hit and -1 to wound form wyrdflame makes the army incredibly durable- I don’t think the lore of change does enough output The tzaangor side has felt wonky need to play more but I was stoked for the stronger tzaangor scroll but still didn’t feel great
Burning chariot is better than you give it credit for if you’re going for heavy wyrdflame and the wyrdflame formation. It’s obviously worse than the herald on chariot, but it still has the burning wake stuff that you want, and at a cheaper cost than the herald. All you’re losing out on is it being a wizard.
Masters of Desinty: "... they cannot be re-rolled, they cannot be changed and they cannot be modified by other friendly abilities (but they can be modified by enemy abilities)." It doesn't work
The Changer of Ways will be pleased. Just As Planned. On another note, for people looking to start this army fresh, remember that you can just make your own Chaos Spawn. Use some armature wire and aluminum/aluminium foil, cover it in some kind of clay (air dry, oven bake, etc) or epoxy putty (Milliput, Green Stuff, Apoxy Sculpt). Sculpt on whatever texture you like, like wrinkles, bulging muscles, pockmarks, scales, fur, etc. Make some mouths or eyes by sculpting holes and filling them with pre-baked/cured teeth or eyeballs. Then glue on all manner of spare arms and heads from your bits box. It doesn't need to look good. It's a Chaos Spawn. It looking kind of jank is a success. It probably won't look worse than the overpriced GW model, and it'll be YOUR piece of crap Chaos Spawn.
Someone else asked a similar question so I'll copy paste my response here "I went with 3 drops as a personal choice. The exalted flamer is not that bad. You can use the ability to give reinforced flamers crit(2 hits) to destroy elite units , monsters or anything. ( the burning chariot is the worst unit for Tzeenche it’s not even funny, kairic acolytes bring more value )

It's a bit of a shame there's less drawings in this video, seeing your illustrations is one of my favorite parts of your other vids
I appreciate the feedback, I'll keep that in mind for the next vid
I agree
@@rocomet I love your animations and illustrations and I rarely watch the videos for the help and all that

You need to recreate the vids for 4.0 , this is so entertaining and fun to watch even when I am not going to play the faction
Ps. Pwease do Seraphon
Good info and summery of the faction.
welcome back big man
Vampires and Nagash next plz, also great vid and drawings

I like this video. The sense of humor. The strats. Love it. Could you talk about spearhead?
Great vid I just wanted to add that the example daemon list could be a 2 drop as the changeling is a deceiver and can be added to kairos' regiment

Great Video! Would love to See somthing like it for Skaven and StD
Skaven will definitely get a video, they have been my main army for a while now. Although I'm waiting for them to get their full battletome release
Illusionist is better than you make it out to be. A hero running with a block of infantry that is all -1 to hit is a big help to survivability.

It has your best and second best unit in it with gravetide and purple sun. It has your highest mortal wound output with spellbomb, and it has your second best utility with snares.
Tzaangors seem great, daemons seem interesting but I'd worry about damage output overall, esp with flamer fragility,
I feel you misunderstand the purpose of the burning chariots. I would like to point out that cult of the demagogue does work with destiny dice. Destiny dice are considered unmodified rolls.
Masters of Desinty: "... they cannot be re-rolled, they cannot be changed and they cannot be modified by other friendly abilities (but they can be modified by enemy abilities)."
