- Will it run after 50 plus years 1916 federal motors truck will this 107 year old truck come unstuck and run after setting for over 50 years
Will it run
Will it run after 50 years
Will it run after 30 years
Will it run after 81 years
Will it run after 75 years
My grandad collected them in the 60 and 70's and I still have several in my barn along with many extra pieces and parts, numerous engines and cabs and I have worked on them my entire life and have two that I totally restored and drive occasionally. If you not help or parts let me know. Im always glad to help someone get another one goin again. Idk where you are but I can toss some parts in my truck and come help you get it going, i actually made a unit that runs off of a 5 ho lawnmower engine and i use it to turn the engine over to start it, takes ten minutes to hook to the engine. Start the mower engine and engage the clutch and the engine spins
Genius starting idea!!
What all parts do you have I need the rear axles and a front wheel and front fender I am located in Arkansas
i love when random people work together
@@jenningsmotorsports7554 i have it. Im in ky
Old truck's never die, because they was the grafters of this world like the horse's where 😅
It's pretty funny to think that during the WW2 this truck was already quite old-fashioned, although still a perfectly usable workhorse.
Probably working a family farm by that point to "feed their son(s)...wherever they may be" too.
my neighbor had a 26 or8 Graham Bros truck he hauled boxes of fruit to the cannery until 1959. Jes been gone 40 yrs now but was a hell of a guy. He also hung a ford T axel for weight carry ability. It was held in by heavy wire and was an idler.
People in the 40s looked at themselves how we look at ourselves today. Modern.
Sir, in my books, you are the official WILL IT RUN king.
VGG is.
@@thomatyessir9123 I love vgg but this dude can literally make anything run if it simply resembles an engine
@@thomatyessir9123 I love vice grip garage, but this guy is awesome.
@@thomatyessir9123 Amen. He didn't even drive it 600 miles home...
@@thomatyessir9123vgg is good, but this guy can do anything
It is absolutely amazing that she still runs after 107 years! It is amazing after all ever single person that anything to do with her is has now past. From her engineers who designed her to her machinist that made her parts to the men who assemble her and the person or persons one who purchased her.
And the brave Souls that drove this old girl .. with a full load of lumber 😲
Passed. The passed away in the past.
And will crank up still easily. I love old engines . All this computer control is nice but not as dependable like these new cars
You just wanted to say her as many times as you could
🎉😂❤
You always manage to find the coolest old gems. This thing is super cool.
Nothing better than seeing (and hearing) a 107 year old engine come back to life!! Fun video, thanks!!
Look forward to seeing more on this one. Would be interesting to seeing her done up as a WWI army truck.
Yeah agreed
That would be so cool
Dang, that's a good idea!
Really like that idea....looking forward to seeing future videos on this old gal.
@@richardcline1337 that’s for sure
Man your videos never fail to impress. It's fascinating watching these old machines come back to life. Hope to see lots more!
Saving these old cars and trucks is the best feeling in the world! ❤🏆
man its crazy how well stuff was built back then.
It’s the technology that makes it. Simple engineering.
🤔 perhaps their grasp of metallurgy and materials science in general didn't allow them to make stuff any other way❓
Or the crappier stuff didn't make it to the present day.
Things back then was built to last. Till around the 80's then they started to make things to break or fail after warranty also cut corners and use cheaper materials
They didn't really know how to cut costs, didn't have too many long-term studies on durability, and left a ton of headroom with strength and toughness. It was so competitive at the time and couldn't afford to make a mistake anyway
I am always impressed, seeing all the Antique vehicles you stumble upon for your engine ressurection challenges! Hopefully, some of them you feature will get full restoration. At this stage, these pieces of collection belong to a museum...
Good luck on your Cuda's reconstruction, as well =)
I love seeing this old stuff. I'm 60 and my daddy born and raised in Arkansas. Dropped out of school first grade but he could fix anything. Mechanical and own numerous gas stations and did the mechanic work! He could go from Arkansas to Oregon leaving with 65 cents coming back with a truck. It was only a year old just on barter and work ! Kudos to old school mechanics. God rests their souls
The excitement of starting an old motor that hasn't run in decades never gets old! I restored a 1954 Johnson 10 hp outboard that hadn't been started since 1968 (needed new coils, points, plugs, carb rebuild, and water pump) and it fired off after two pulls. I ran around like an idiot yelling "Johnson! Johnson!" to no one for a minute. Ran like a champion thereafter!
My grand father drove a federal truck back in the 1920s .this vedio made me smile and think about him.he was a character sure miss him.he had some good stories.great job man.
Theses Federal trucks were used in New Mexico to chase Pancho Villa into Mexico.
when it comes to will it run men,you are at the top.great videos.
My pops had a mid 1930's Federal truck. There wasn't much leftover after years sitting in Ohio, he was just all about the history and stories that came with the trucks.
I can’t help but smile when I see you get one of these old vehicles running after so many years of neglect. Your attitude and sense of humor make your videos worth watching even when they don’t run.
What a damn good mechanic 👨🔧
I’m starting to think that everyone that does these will it run videos spend more on the spray lubricants then the cars 😂
A can of pb blaster is like 8 bucks I normally use 1-3 cans just depends on how stuck a motor is
I'm pretty Low Rent .... Marvel Mystery Oil 🛢 or Diesel ⛽️ I do use PB Blaster for other things
Not gonna lie, spraying a WD40 on a rusty iron (even if those parts aren't supposed to move) is oddly satisfying.
That is one AWESOME old truck you've got there, it would be great to see her driving around once you get the parts for her 👍
You are the only channel I know of that does revivals on stuff this old. It's so cool to see something that has been around for so many generations fire back to life as if it was only sleeping. I hope there's more of this in the works, I love seeing it!
Amazing, man! Just incredible to see this 107 year old engine turn over and come to life. You're right, "she wants to live", and I'm sure that she will now. Cheers from Texas.
At 14:47 ,no way! She cranked over. I was as stunned as you. That's crazy.
You might not see this but that engine might not even have a water pump. A lot of old trucks and tractors had what is called a "Thermosiphon" System and the hot water would rise to the top of the radiator and get cooled instead of having a pump do that.
The water pump sits directly before the magneto and has a through shaft to drive the mag behind it.
Thank you for the info I thought the turbo looking thing was a water pump well I think it is but I may be wrong I know a lot of old tractors I have had don’t have a water pump
Awesome vid and love to hear the Cuda story will soon continue.. hope you got the numbers motor for it👊
@@jenningsmotorsports7554 No, it is definitely the water pump.
I had an old Mercedes (1965 Mercedes 300E) which had the same set up only the water pump followed the Dynamo.
Great video👍👍
@@jenningsmotorsports7554yeah they have points they are behind the cover behind the roter but be careful because it has timing gears there ,and you can easily get it out of time . Love your channel ,best one on tube
It sure is fun watching you get these old timers going again.Keep on wrenchen buddy and a big shout out from Tennessee !
I pulled my 85 z from a eureka springs car graveyard 2 years ago after it was abandoned for 17 years, less rust than I ever expected 😁
Really enjoy your video, especailly with old trucks and cars, I am into Antique and seeing them coming back to life, for a 107 years old sounds good. thank you again for bring and antique back to life.
I think you’re the only person that has successfully got a 100 year old vehicle to revive successfully on UA-cam. I was cheering you on when you did the Cadillac, but this was so much more accomplishing. It even ran good. You’ve battled more with 40 year old cars that only sat for 10 years.
Just never gets old seeing these old machines run 👍😁
I like your videos / Ingemar from Sweden
Thank you
Wow that was perty cool . Them old motors were built to run . Twice as heavy of any modern motor.
This guy is a genius…..better than most mainstream motor stuff on TV
Magnetos will lose magnetism after sitting for a long time. Remagnetising them was a common thing once. It sounded like the mag starting impulse was clicking just fine too.
I can’t believe how well she runs after all this time !
what a treat I love watching you bring back these brass era cars no one else focuses on these like you do.
That's SO awesome. I've never thought these antiques machines could last that long! And still be in one piece! Simple is more! Great content! And wow, it seems these antique machines are hidden everywhere, just waiting a new chance! Wow!
Your videos never get old. I love to see you bring those old motors back to life. Great stuff!!!
Cool video. Good to see old stuff still able to run. They made good engines back in the day
Son, that old motor runs pretty darned good. It would be good to take steps to preserve it.
Absolutely inspirational work. It would be incredible to get an old motor running with little cost, just encyclopedic knowledge and effort.
I wish my Grandpa was around to see these videos... He'd love them! I know I sure do. Keep up the amazing work, brother!
Seriously, your channel is pretty damn awesome. I’ve seen you delete two cylinders and make a motor run. BOSS!!! You are a bad ass!
Would love to see more on this ol gal she's a runner, I loved when she fired I actually got excited that she wants to live. You definitely brought her back to life. Rig a carburetor for her I know you can do it. Also build a seat or cab get er going!! Great job bub hopefully seeing a new episode on ER soon
These ole motors were tough. Good job again.
I love this channel so much. What most people would simply write off as nothing more than scrap metal, you actually make the effort to bring back to life. Good stuff man, keep up the good work
Those early engines are so utterly simple and yet run so well. In 1977 I had a 42 chevy panel truck with a flat head six-cylinder engine. When idling it was so quiet you didn't even know it was running.
Nice to see a young guy take an interest in the old truck!
With those Elvis looks, trademark jeans and white t, you got the potential for sure. Glad to see you bring these old relics back to life. I’m sure they thank you too. Great job!
Back when engines were made to last and easy to troubleshoot. Fuel, air, spark.. now you almost need a computer science degree to get near these newer vehicles.
Modern engines are made to last, it's the damn sensors and other electronic wizardry that fails.
@@unvaxxeddoomerlife6788 That is the money generating scam on the masses... parts and labor nightmare.
I always look forward to a new post from you. Loved this one. Thank you.
Just goes to show that she wasn't ready to die. Great job on getting her going.
Love to see this! It would be great to preserve this piece of American automotive history. Great video!
Outstanding Save 👏👏👏👏
Definitely worth the effort and a coat of paint ........👍
Can't wait to see the Finish ☺️✌️
One of my favorites so far. Modern technology eat your heart out! Amazinggetting these cool old pieces of history running. Great job!
That's so awesome that you got that 1916 Federal motors truck running!.....
Sounds good for the age. Very nice.
Love watching these old engines come back to life.
Always enjoy your videos. After a hot day of working on the roof on my house. I was glad to see you put a new video out to watch while I cool myself down.
That would look great to rebuild her to the way she looked back in the day
Your videos get more amazing, really excellent
That was awesome looking forward to part 2
Love watching & how excited you get when get the old vehicles to fire up! Great Work! 👏❤
Thank you for helping to preserve, automotive history!
Love the video!
Love seeing old bits of kit bought back to life!. Nice one! Nuff said!. 🙂
Definitely show more of this old truck! Great video!
Well another brilliant start thanks for sharing !
While there isn't a good side view of the truck it looks like it's a 1 ton Model 'S' Truck or a 1 1/2 ton 'Model T' truck(not like ford model T)
I've actually got a video on my Federal truck, it's a 1919 Tractor truck
Edit: considering the firewall has a layer of wood in it, this is most likely a lighter model like an S. I'm fairly certain no heavier models from this time would've had that, not such a small worm-drive
Somebody get this man a PB Blaster sponsor!
This is why i keep coming back to this channel. The will it srart on these ol vintage beauty's. I can't wait to see more on this one.
Cool find. You made it look easy! Look forward to see this one and the Cuda. 😃
Can't believe you got it running without catching the thing on fire first. Well done!
This man makes it seem all so simple (it may be, because I don't understand all of it, but still...), really love to see it.
This man is a very good mechanic and knows engines!!!!
I really love your channel man, just discovered it a few days ago and I've been binging. I enjoy working on my vehicle every so often but I really don't know much about engines, seeing these historic pieces and seeing how you get them running is so damn cool.
I’m waiting for the episode
“Hey guys! Today we’ve got a 1910s Model T thats been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for the last 100 years and we’re gonna see if we can get it running”
I love your excitement when you got the truck started!
Man you did a great job, Im glad to see someone who still cares for those old things.
A very interesting old truck, and a great video! Makes you appreciate the guy who invented the self-starter!!!
Look forward to more about this truck. Good stuff. Much respect.
The cow was about as excited to hear that old thing run as I was! I love these videos man keep it up it’s so cool to see these old machines bark back to life after so long
Notification SQUAD Have a nice weekend!🔥🔥🔥
You are the mechanical miracle maker. Very impressive.
Just imagine if people still had to hand crank their motors to start them lol. My grandmother who grew up in the 30s use to tell me about how a lot of men fell victim to broken arms, elbows, shoulders and collar bones from the crank snapping backwards on a misfire.
My parents had a long-wheel base Land Rover, I'm told that happened to my father's knee a time.
You're only supposed to pull the crank arm up with cupped fingers, keeping the rest of your body clear.
Anybody that got hurt wasn't following the proceedure.
@@Texassince1836 like from the passenger side? I always wondered what the "right way" to do that was. I knew you had to stay out of the way 'cause they could go wild, but that's it.
Know it a good day when there’s a new video
thats the testament to engineering of these old machines,a piece of running history
A modern day wizard!
Excellent work. good to see her running again. Hello from New Zeland :)
*She runs!*
Love to see it
What a cool old motor! I always learn something when I watch these. I've never seen those little compression valves before.
Wow, pretty amazing it runs as good as it does. Never really even smoked that much! Great job getting it running!
Dude! I’m impressed!! Amazing you got her running! As always, great job man! They sure don’t make them like they used to! She sounds pretty good!👌😎👍👏👏👏👏
I just subbed. I thought I was already? Anyway your a master at getting these old rigs running. A joy to watch👍
I have to say - "who could top your skills??" I started watching auto revival videos with Mortske, then Vice Grip, and now you. Fascinating stuff. You are the best, hands down! Maybe one day I will tackle my 1953 F350 (yard art for now) although my skill and patience isn't anywhere near enough. I subscribed. Cheers!
I could see how much you enjoyed getting that engine running. A job well done. I would love to see that old truck turning it's wheels.
Dustin you continue to amaze me! Excellent work my friend!
It’s funny, I was just thinking that I haven’t seen one of your videos in a while, and here you are.
I love this channel and every episode. He is living his dream. So talented and very entertaining channel
Took one look and had no doubt it would start. Very nice to hear it running.
Good Job man on this one, crazy how simple but reliable things was years ago. Awesome job, can't wait to see it drive !!
