Thank you so much to everyone here checking out this video about Undefeatable from Sonic Frontiers, I'm looking forward to continuing to share my thoughts with you! JOIN THE DISCORD: discord.gg/DEczzYDMaP BTW IF UR READING THIS, WHATS UR FAVOURITE SONG FROM SONIC FRONTIERS?
Boss Theme: Break Through It All Cyberspace: Go Slap & Transparent Highway Open Zone: Chaos Island 2nd Movement (Shadow Gens totally remixed this one for a reason) Great video, man. If you’ve got more like this in mind, I will definitely be back.
I personally think also how much people missed the battle shonen aspect that Sonic used to have. At that time, Sonic went went with a more lighthearted tone, and while forces tried to be dark, it failed. Then frontiers had this somber vibe to it, but when you got to the first boss and music started playing, all we could think was, "OH YEAH, WE'RE SO BACK!!!!" It was like Sonic Team saying, "Yeah, let's make this series cool again and give it our all. We're bring hype back in our games and not just our trailers"
My favourite was Break through it all ngl. The spectacle of flying all across the island to chase a powerful mechanical dragon is raw as fuck, the special parry attack of throwing it by the tail into a mountain is also insane as well as the other qte attacks. Then with the music it’s just perfect, showing sonics drive and unstoppable spirit to save the people he cares about where he won’t let anyone defy him. The buildup is really good and the moment that chorus hits it’s actually godly
I wouldn't mind if a female singer was used for male Sonic character themes. Persona 5's main protagonist is a guy and *every* vocal theme is done by Lyn, yet they are still some of the hypest moments of the game (Rivers in the Desert, Life Will Change, and I Believe as examples) Edit: Matter of fact, I would like Lyn to do some Sonic songs period. She was featured on a cover of the Sonic 3 continue theme.
I think Lyn also did a funk cover of escape from the city on the sonic UA-cam channel. I'm actually with you on that! I wish Sonic would take a couple notes from the Persona series
Well.. My favorite titan boss theme is "Find Your Flame".. Because the whole song is literally Sonic’s perspective with Tyler’s("Theme of Infinite" singer) part being Sonic talking to Knight and Kellin's part telling about Tails FINDING HIS OWN FLAME and how he notices he isn’t alone!
It's kinda funny that the video right above this is someone putting Undefeatable on top of a Racing game "I put 'Undefeatable' over Split/Second and..." With images of Super Sonic and Giganto placed on the same side of the thumbnail as this one
What I liked about The titan boss themes vs the other Sonic songs was that most songs didn’t feel fitting for the epic boss fight that’s the characters were in like live and learn is awesome but it doesn’t feel like a final boss theme it feels like a driving with your friends song The Titan themes feel like boss themes because they are(and I need more Sonic songs to do this) They are cinematic
Well, tbf, I would argue Live & Learn is a perfect final boss theme when regarding its thematical meaning, since the song is more-so referring to Shadow, who quite literally has lived through hardship, and by overcoming said hardship, has learned to let go of the revenge he sought after. Shadow fighting against the Biolizard, the perfect embodiment of Gerald's inability to live and learn, is the perfect way to end that game.
@ it is but it’s feels more like a song I would put at the end credits not the climactic boss I thought frontiers do that well they put songs like undefeatable and I’m here revisited were at the boss fights and songs like Vandalize and One Way Dream in the credits
@@jowardgamer2708 Idk, I don't think about songs being added to the credits as often. One thing I do kinda wish Sonic Frontiers did was find some way to include Sage's theme in the main game for the DLC instead of just throwing it in the credits. I get that in the DLC final fight it doesn't really fit, but the song also has a lot of importance to Sage's character and it honestly feels like a really good song to use for an emotional moment like we get in the base game when she sacrifices herself. Although, I do also think that Sage's theme is also not a good final boss themes since it doesn't juxtapose well with The End. I also think "I'm Here" doesn't entirely fit the themes the game was trying to go for, in terms of it being a Final Boss theme. In terms of thematic storytelling via the various boss themes, I vastly prefer the other three bosses, since they fit well. I think relegating such an important song to Shadow's arc, like Live & Learn, to the credits just would feel off-putting and I feel like if you played any other theme over Live & Learn, it simply wouldn't fit nearly as well.
@@LittleNamMan yeah but Live and learn just doesn’t feel cinematic it’s like playing a road trip song at a climax in a movie maybe the lyrics fit but the song itself doesn’t And also I think I’m here revisited fits very well but the original version doesn’t
@@jowardgamer2708 Tbh, calling it a "road trip song" at this point is just your perspective. I can't really argue for that, since music is entirely subjective to the feelings it gives others, and it gives you that feeling, then I'm not sure what to say. I personally feel it fits, but I can't really say I disagree with how the song makes you feel. You might just have different tastes in music that you find to be more fitting based off those tastes. I guess, but I think I mean more about the lyrics. Judging other Sonic songs and how they directly connect to the characters and their arcs, I'm Here doesn't really refer to anyone specifically. It reads to me as another Sonic song that depicts he'll always be there, which I guess you could say fits somewhat with everyone going off on their own, and Sonic letting them know he'll always be there if they feel alone or lost. But, it just doesn't fit, I feel in regards to the fight itself since The End represents the concept of the inevitable end, which doesn't entirely fit what the song is trying say. I do agree it fits better in the final fight of the DLC since Sonic's friends play more of an active role in said fight, but it still feels disconnected from the antagonist, and doesn't feel as directly related to any specific arc like how the Biolizard reflects Shadow's arc throughout SA2. It's a wonderful song, don't get me wrong. I just wouldn't say it fits as well as other themes in the series, in regards to narrative cohesion.
My top 5 favorate soundtracks 1. Sonic Unleashed 2. Sonic Frontiers & The Final Horizons OST 3. Sonic R 4. Sonic The Hedgehog [2006] 5. Team Sonic Racing Don't you dare judge the last one Honorable mentions being SXSG Version of "What I'm Made Of" and "Sonic Heroes 'Ocean Palace'
I would judge the last one but tbf I haven't heard all of the TSR soundtrack BUT I did come across the Sand Road remix and it's pretty fire. Might have to listen to the whole OST
I wish I could go back to those 7 minutes to when I was screaming my heart out to Underdefeatable bc I haven’t sung like that Since Endless Possibilities and Reach for The Stars
I say this 1. I'm here, Find your Flame (they were both really good so tie) 2. Undefeatable (it was great but the face your fear scream really got me annoyed and some of the words I didn't really hear cos of the screaming in some parts) 3. Break thought it all (it had too much screaming WAY too much screaming)
I was going to call this a bad take, but it's your opinion, I don't have a right to tell you otherwise. Though, I will say this... It's metalcore. Screaming is expected. And I love it.
Undefeated was a great track, same with the video. I’d love to see an analysis and rating of the other two themes (Break Through it All and Find Your Flame)
Personally, while I am a big fan of all three of the original themes, Break Through It All would probably be my number one. Maybe just because I’m fighting a dragon the whole time, but for me, it gives me the biggest rush out of the three. All of them are truly epic, though. I wouldn’t be able to blame anyone for liking a different one more. But dissing one of them? Well, that’s different story entirely.
The fighting a dragon visual is pretty crazy I can't lie. For me tho listening to it just on its own, I'm not the biggest fan of the song structure but it still goes hard regardless
For me, the Titan boss themes left a few impressions on me. 1. These Titans are giant metal beasts, so the choice to go with modern forms of heavy metal felt like a thematic choice. 2. These boss fights force you to be as aggressive as possible, which again fits the intensity of the music 3. It made Frontiers feel like a semi-AAA game… or at the very least, it showed how ambitious the game was. 4. It demonstrated that Sonic Team knows its audience when it comes to music 5. Nerds that go to the gym definitely have these songs on their workout playlist.
Yeah Sonic Team definitely attempted to give us some of the biggest set pieces in a Sonic game to date with those boss battles and in that sense they definitely delivered
This Might Sound Crazy, But I Thought Closer To The Games Release That OG I'm Here Was Better Then Undefeatable, But After Listening More, My Current Ranking Is From My Most Safe Opinions I Can Choose: 5. I'm Here, 4. Undefeatable, 3. Revisited, 2. Break Through It All, 1. nice video but 'butt rock' isn't exactly a genre. it's a derogatory brainrot term that became widely used after game grumps labelled crush 40 it. i kinda hate how people use it non ironically. crush 40 is a mix of hard rock & metal & is far closer to 80s rock & metal than the 90s nirvana styled grunge - so call it that instead.
No offence to that musician, but unfortunately in my opinion those Titan battle songs don't hit me the same because of the female sounding voice. I prefer most of the old Crush 40 songs instead. So I've been planning help from a friend about how to swap them after I get Frontiers on the gaming laptop that I got in December 2024 and install the "Real Silver Frontiers" mod into that PC port: 1. Undefeatable - Live and Learn. 2. Break Through it all - Open Your Heart. 3. Find Your Flame - Solaris phase 2 music. "I'm Here" is the only one that I am fine with because of the male sounding voice in it, but since it will pretty much be a Silver the hedgehog game with that mod, I plan to (if I can) swap that final battle song with a remix version of Silver's character theme (Dreams of an Absolution) that has rock and roll music thanks to Jun Senoue composing that type of music into the remix that I found. The female sounding voice in those male battle songs kind-of ruined my chance of wanting to keep listening to the 3 ones that play before "I'm Here" after first hearing them while playing the Switch port of that game. (this comment is from an adult female tomboy Sonic fan)
Just asking, why do you hate the high female-like voice? If a female was screaming at the top of her lungs, I’d have no problem with it as long as it sounds good
bro i hate the modern sonic music, i dont like rock, and heavy metal, so its a downgrade for me in sonics music, the old music is 10x better, and no one can deny it
Find Your Flame is the only good one, the other Titan Boss themes are... meh And most of the game is garbage, it's an horrible game...and Undefeatable is traumafuel to me
@@breetontalks Let me put my feelings into words... It's the most upbeat and crazy music of the game, the only song that nailed it and made somewhat a connection to me in this game, i love metal but it doesn't fit the game at all and this one is closer to being a rock song which is associated to the franchise since the adventure games and it is coupled with the most fun boss to play against in the entire game Undefeatable sound like crap compared to it, it's making my ears physically hurt whenever i hear it, litterally and hearing it due to the voice threshold in this song And it is also traumafuel due to the experience i had with the game to just find some little teeny tiny bits of fun gameplay which doesn't help, i had to play the full game 5 times to find something i genuinely like in it except from Knight which was great I played the game for the first time pretty much days before the final horizon update so most of the bugs were fixed and we had better qol features apparently and it sucked from the beginning to end Also thank to have asked kindly, it's pretty rare to have kind fans responding decently since Frontiers release ^^

No offence to that musician, but unfortunately in my opinion those Titan battle songs don't hit me the same because of the female sounding voice. I prefer most of the old Crush 40 songs instead. So I've been planning help from a friend about how to swap them after I get Frontiers on the gaming laptop that I got in December 2024 and install the "Real Silver Frontiers" mod into that PC port:

"I'm Here" is the only one that I am fine with because of the male sounding voice in it, but since it will pretty much be a Silver the hedgehog game with that mod, I plan to (if I can) swap that final battle song with a remix version of Silver's character theme (Dreams of an Absolution) that has rock and roll music thanks to Jun Senoue composing that type of music into the remix that I found.
The female sounding voice in those male battle songs kind-of ruined my chance of wanting to keep listening to the 3 ones that play before "I'm Here" after first hearing them while playing the Switch port of that game.

Just asking, why do you hate the high female-like voice? If a female was screaming at the top of her lungs, I’d have no problem with it as long as it sounds good
I was gonna ask the same thing
@ No offence, but it's just a personal preference.
bro i hate the modern sonic music, i dont like rock, and heavy metal, so its a downgrade for me in sonics music, the old music is 10x better, and no one can deny it
Find Your Flame is the only good one, the other Titan Boss themes are... meh
And most of the game is garbage, it's an horrible game...and Undefeatable is traumafuel to me
Dayum 😭 what makes find your flame stand out for you? Cause I feel like they're all comparable enough
@@breetontalks Let me put my feelings into words... It's the most upbeat and crazy music of the game, the only song that nailed it and made somewhat a connection to me in this game, i love metal but it doesn't fit the game at all and this one is closer to being a rock song which is associated to the franchise since the adventure games and it is coupled with the most fun boss to play against in the entire game
Undefeatable sound like crap compared to it, it's making my ears physically hurt whenever i hear it, litterally and hearing it due to the voice threshold in this song
And it is also traumafuel due to the experience i had with the game to just find some little teeny tiny bits of fun gameplay which doesn't help, i had to play the full game 5 times to find something i genuinely like in it except from Knight which was great
I played the game for the first time pretty much days before the final horizon update so most of the bugs were fixed and we had better qol features apparently and it sucked from the beginning to end
Also thank to have asked kindly, it's pretty rare to have kind fans responding decently since Frontiers release ^^
