I like what you are getting at by stating that backspin can be caused by swinging down and that topspin can be caused by too much positive angle swing plane. I think you are saying to consider that the counter intuitive may be the cause. However, isn’t it more based on which half of the ball you hit? If you hit the bottom half of a ball with an upper cut swing you will induce backspin and if you hit the top half of a ball with an uppercut swing, you will induce topspin. As you always say and I often quote, the goal is to hit line drives with carry. Hit the ball with a 10-15 degree, some times more, positive plane angle and hit the ball as close to center line as possible. Statistically speaking, the probability of achieving positive results goes up when balls are hit in the air to a batter’s pull side. Of course you can’t do that with pitches that are away. Early and away is off the end of the bat. Hit balls that are middle in, early, to your pull side. Hit balls away a little later and to the opposite side. Hit them all with a positive angle swing plane and get the bat into the zone early as you always say.
I thought when batter talk about back spin means ball need to curve to the opposite field, it's about east west, not north south (up and down like this video)
It is required to be in the facility that we work out in. Have you not seen anyone wearing masks? They are a requirement in most indoor places where I am located

Man matt is great 👍
Matt do you think swinging slightly down can be helpful too?
Thanks

That's why I swing the knob of the bat I became a better hitter by 20%
What if a ball comes out of the bat like a knuckleball (no spin)
Then you squared it up about as perfectly as possible
@@AntonelliBaseball Thanks!!!
I guess if no spin that means you give the ball the same rate of backspin as the pitcher, assume it is a fastball?
What's with the mask? To quote our president's dementia, "C'Mon Man!!!"

I'm sorry you are subjected to that.
For what it's worth, I love your videos.
What's wrong with wearing a mask?
What's right with it?
