Takumi's gutter technique in the Initial D......Takumi discovered this technique when he had to delivered tofu through the Akina touge in winter season....later this technique is kind a like his signature moves in the 1st season of Initial D 🥰
1:52 And funny thing is that they don't run anything different from the base tuning setup. So, straight up, the AI are coded just a tad differently for the Tournament Mode's snow tracks. To my understanding, they once upon a time actually outright cheated on snow tracks and would handle it as perfectly as normal track surfaces and not really slip or slide at all. That is, until you actually did some damage to them to a point that it impacts their vehicle handling. PS: I'm not a fan of the snow tracks. I think they honestly went a tad too hard on making them damn near completely realistic because it's not all that fun. Nevermind the fact that these tracks only exist, and are playable, for a small part of the year. So, there's no real way of practicing in a low stress environment to get used to or decent-ish at handling a vehicle in the snow.
I totally get that. I just enjoy it for a different challenge. Playing this online would be a nightmare though as pit turns are already such a problem as the game is.
You talked about how the Wreckfest AI probably has an unfair advantage because of how seemingly flawless they handle the snowy terrain. I've definitely speculated on that. Its not coincidence. And older racing game AI (like in Motorstorm as you mentioned) should be nuked into the sun. Pacific Rift's Sugar Rush Mudplugger Eliminator event is a rubber banding nightmare that I still can't squeeze out more than 2nd place in. 🙄
Sugar Rush has a ton of shortcuts that you can use to make that work. The trick to Motorstorm rubber banding is to chill out in the middle position (around 6th usually) and try to keep the front pack kind of bunched up until the last lap. Rubber banding is drastically reduced if not entirely removed on the last lap, so you can shoot past the AI with a shortcut or something and just cling onto first to get the win.
