the crazy thing is that George had been doing this for a long time. During development of Fracture for the Xbox 360 you had George going to the studio and then changing a ton of things for the game like the name of the character, how he looked and other things that delayed the game and increased the budget. The funniest thing from that episode if I remember correctly is that there was a meeting and some of the devs asked George Lucas for some Sith Lord names for a future game they might make for him and he sad Darth Insanius and everyone in the room laughed thinking it was a joke but then George just moved on to something else and everyone realized he was being serious.
Did you hear about the pitch that Massive (devs for Outlaws) wanted to make a Mandalorian title with The Division-like aspects? Basically would have included several clans you could devote yourself to, customize your Mando, and would have been able to do four player Co-op taking down bounties with friends with tons of end-game content planned. Ubisoft shot the idea down and we got Outlaws instead.
It would have work best as a new sith lord in legacy era with Talon as your master to ultimately surpass or keep as Darth Maul orgin story before espiode 1.
If it followed George's idea it would be one hell of a mess. I prefer the devs' idea which introduce "Maul" as his clone with some chimerical gene template, so he's not 1to1 replica. And the stuff is set past Legacy 1 but before Legacy 2 comics, or some time before Legacy 1 and it's jedi purge.

I’ve never got over the cancellation of KOTOR 3. It seems unimaginable that a sequel to one of the most commercially and critically successful games of all time was just cancelled and the series was just abandoned.
The rough part is that Lucas Arts very much suffered from revolving doors when it comes to development teams. Star Wars not an easy world to step into. Ton of history, amazing backstories, rich world, decades of background, anal fanbase, strict branding and creative guidelines, etc. even before Disney got involved at all. it’s a very steep learning curve that takes a huge amount of effort in preproduction stages especially. And that needed to happen with every game, with new teams coming in and out. Best games in the Star Wars world have often been sequels from studios that got lucky enough to work on them and carried all the legwork from project to project. The massive amount of money involved in licensing fees is a huge factor in all of those games being cancelled as well. Upfront fee + commission on all sales = if you know the game is dead on arrival, cut the costs before launch
@@alejandronunez5110 being canon doesn't make up much for me. I'd rather have a game with insert character set in Legacy era, than game about Maul in Disney verse.

Another honourable mention here, despite it not being its own standalone game, could be the original plans for the 2.0 update in Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) and its scope, before the game kind of croaked and received mass layoffs and budget cuts. Original plans for the expansion would have seen both Imperial and Republic players alike visit planets such as Yavin IV, Makeb and Sleheyron, with Ziost and Bothawui being faction exclusive to Imp-side and Pub-side respectively. But most importantly, this expansion would have continued upon the much-revered class stories at the time which were seen as one of SWTOR's most strongest elements, however which were also sadly axed from later renditions of the game due to a lack of funding and desire at Bioware to really invest into SWTOR that deeply anymore. SWTOR is a massive case of what COULD have been and what really SHOULD have been. The project had so much potential which is mirrored through these scrapped plans, far more ambitious than the simple addition of Makeb that we got (despite that storyline being cool and all), and faction-exclusive stories as opposed to class-exclusive.

One Star Wars game concept I think would be interesting would be revolving around the Blackwing Virus, here’s the Pitch: It’s a left 4 dead 2 style game with 3 survivors and 1 droid, an old Clone (can’t think of a name), a Rebel Soldier, an Imperial Soldier, and an old run-down but repaired B1 Battle Droid (or a Commando Droid) the squad is stuck on a planet overrun by people who have been infected by the Blackwing virus after the main ship crash landed onto their planet, their goal is to go through giant waves of undead civilians for an extraction, over time the 3 survivors manage to slowly get along with one another and become friends, including the droid, the ending would go as such: the Clone would retire fully and become a Farmer, the Rebel would continue working in the Rebellion, the Imperial would become a spy for the rebels, and the Commando Droid would’ve sacrificed themselves for the 3 survivors so they can escape
I gotta say, i liked the cozy presentation you set up here. It was nice. I understand that game development can be hell (and maybe some meddling from Lucas didn't help, though I doubt he really intended as much harm as was caused), but some of these still hurt to miss out on to this day. I'm still hankering for that new Jedi Knight game to this day. That all said, i also liked how ended this on a high note. I think I should hop back onto Kotor and Jedi Academy again soon.

Most of these are common knowledge and to those that don't know, Evan says when they were made and literally says lucasarts was the one who cancelled majority of these, so what's the point of this comment? Besides, the ones that were cancelled due to the Disney purchase were looking to have a lot of potential, so any criticism would still be valid on Disney part
@@TY-km8hj ik half of them were cause of the disney buyout, which is why i said "HALF" in my comment, cause there's alot of weirdos who believe most of these games were cancelled cuz of disney and or kathleen

25:00 This. Thank you for bringing it up. I would like a little more mature Star Wars like this, but I feel this exact same way. Imo, if we stray too far from the Star Wars tone, too childish or too adult, it becomes difficult to watch/play. Or even being so serious it comes off as pretentious, like the writers knew exactly what they were doing. Like "We are trying to be mature. We are appealing to the fans. Look at how well written and dramatic and adult this is."
Star Wars Battlefront III technically did release, but it came out as a PSP in two games Battlefront Elite Squadron and Renegade Squadron. They said it was a died down version of their almost finished Battlefront III.
A shame people were hard on TFU 2. We would’ve had the third installment already. Imperial commando and Rebel Commando as two campaigns for one game would’ve been very cool.
10:36 One short mini comic and a handful of lines about him in the Unifying Force where he's put in a Sekotan starfighter for the space battle rather than taken to the final Ground battle on Yuuzhan Tar. I guess Luke thought it would be unfair for the Vong.
5:30 aww man I’d have loved to see the fight with Caedus put to game. It was my favorite part of legends. Such a drastic yet hopeless change like anakin’s fall in revenge of the sith.
I played the available alpha version of STAR WARS FIRST ASSAULT, what a cool project it is, its atmosphere. As you know, the game was ready for beta testing even before it closed. I think this (beta) version will become available someday.
Actually, in a way, we did get KOTOR 3. When the game was cancelled, the story got shelved. When SWTOR got made, the KOTOR 3 story became the Jedi Knight story.
KOTOR III and maybe Battlefront III or Project Ragtag might have been interesting. Everything else looks like something I would pick up from the bargin bin. I'm surprised there are no space focused games on the list Where Starfighter III or Rogue Squadron IV
I really like your videos dude. As we both have similar tastes, I'd love to hear your opinions on a few PS2 classics. Them being Punisher, Scarface the world is yours, 50 cent bullet proof and lastly Tenchu wrath of heaven. I played them all recently and apart from 50 cent they really hold up well.
Wow thank you so much! I will see about getting to those, but there's so many great games out there, and I'm only one man haha. I'll tell you now I LOVE the Punisher game, though.
I for one refuse to give Disney any of my money. If there's a film or show, produced, or owned, or remotely connected to Disney in any way that I might want to watch (keeping in mind their shows are all barely watchable poorly disguised attempts to shove a message they themselves clearly don't believe in both down our throats and up our asses simultaneously, while calling the fans racist, sexist, homophobic, or just simply the problem in general. Almost like they're too blind to see that the reason their projects continuously fail when it comes to ratings, reviews, box office profits, and viewing in general. Is because they simply hate the fan bases of said various projects, yet they so desperately want the contents of their wallets.) I go out of my way to pirate said films or shows, and send the link in a mass text to my friends and family so that Disney doesn't get any of their money either. And I strongly feel that everyone who is fed up with how the billion dollar media Monopoly blatantly mistreats the fan bases of beloved franchises, while demanding said fans smile and worship the very ground their rabid corpse rat of a mascot they use as their face rots upon. Like they are the fucking emperor of man on their golden throne. The only way to make a point as fans is to stop giving them our money, and start making like Captain Jack Sparrow and steal their shit while telling them how much we collectively think Disney, their projects, and their ass backwards attempts at being progressive (despite their own history of bigotry and sympathizing with the actual Nazi party.) Is hollow, soulless, and quite literally not worth the number of executive souls traded for profit margins. Not to mention not worth the brain cells murdered during the viewing of said media they provide.
I highly recommend the Republic Commando novels by Karen Traviss. They really elaborate and create an interesting perspective of clones who aren't following any well known movie character. If i'm not mistaken the books came out before the Dave filoni show and is written for adults. As someone who has read a lot of nonfiction on special operation forces. Traviss somehow captures the same vibes those types of books invoke. Granted her writing is over the top because it is star wars, but it works.
Star Wars 1313, I believe that KK strip it's corpse to create Star Wars Outlaws, it was supposed to be her masterpiece, but it was a complete flop. If you truly look at any game created under Disney in control, meaning KK in charge it been revived as a zombie as they inserted what they wanted and overall ruined the storyline.
The Revan novel was released before The Old Republic. Also the vanilla version of the game has Revan in a few Flashpoints, which are the SWTOR version of dungeons.
Imperial Commando, 1313, KOTOR 3, The Force Unleashed 3 and Battle of the Sith Lords were the once I was looking forward too the most. The Force Unleashed 2 ended with a cliffhanger and left with various unanswered questions back in the day. Battle of the Sith Lords gave me 'Force Unleashed' vibes and was looking forward to learn more about the game. KOTOR 2 also ended with a cliffhanger, and I hoped the story would conclude with KOTOR 3. I know Revan returned in TOR, but that was kind of a let down for me.
There was on the Lucasarts side, a feeling that some of the seed money for BF3 was being embezzled for Haze. Thus the lawyer. So it wasn't just something some of the staff thought, the idea was pretty firmly in their heads.
I’m guessing that the clone commandos of the ICSU we were going to play as was going to be named Onyx Squad. Either way, they should have focused on making Imperial Commando first and then Rebel Commando after that.
I think Star Wars can potentially show off some more gratuitous things if it fits with Star Wars, and showcases the darker more darker side of the galaxy far far away
I've been saying for almost 30 years now, the one star wars game we really need is Grand theft Airspeeder: Corelia. Forget the Force and the grand galactic battle of good versus evil. Give us a game where we steal flying cars and run drug/spice shipments for Black Sun while the Hutt Cartels send Gamorean and Gank goons to rough us up.
The fact we never got a continuation to Republic Commando is a crime.

Have Delta Squad deployed to kill Jedi while the Rebellion sends their own to try to protect those.
God damn that could've been good.
Before yall start the disney yapfest, half the games here were canned by LUCASARTS not disney, but i doubt yall would give af
Oh no, not my multi-billion dollar international conglomerate, whatever would they do if not for people to defend them from those evil, evil gamers.
@Niskirin appreciate the sarcasm but that isn't the tone of my comment
Yeah, except the half that was cancelled by Lucasarts all showed some trouble during the predevelopment or the development cycle, while the ones cancelled by Disney were done so arbitrarily. And the ones cancelled by EA were done so because they're idiots
What's the mod in the video when the Jedi Academy gameplay comes up?
Movie Duels! It's great.
Nice vid, I’d like to see more like this one
Thanks! Yeah I think this is a cool format!
I really wish they let us have a Sith game. We got Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor, just let us have some time being the baddies.
5:30 aww man I’d have loved to see the fight with Caedus put to game. It was my favorite part of legends. Such a drastic yet hopeless change like anakin’s fall in revenge of the sith.
There was also a cancelled Star Wars battlefront spinoff game that was cancelled under EA that you should have mentioned to
I played the available alpha version of STAR WARS FIRST ASSAULT, what a cool project it is, its atmosphere.
That first game would have been sick!!! Even a trilogy of movies with that story being told
Blame Disney for most of these
You did a Star Wars video. You get my subscription
Tldr.
FUCK Disney, be a pirate.
Or be gay, do crime.
Whichever you prefer. And most importantly share the hate for the fake.
We sort of got KOTOR 3 in SWTOR. Theres a raid to find where Revan went, the galactic empire has attacked with a force much older than Revan or Malek.
I wanted Empires at war 2
So in the topic of “Battle of the with Lords” Maul does come back, this shown in The clone Wars series and frankly I love this
I highly recommend the Republic Commando novels by Karen Traviss.
My theory that 1313's program and modeling has been implemented in the Cal games and Outlaws.
The Revan novel was released before The Old Republic. Also the vanilla version of the game has Revan in a few Flashpoints, which are the SWTOR version of dungeons.
The books are good. Read them
Imperial Commando, 1313, KOTOR 3, The Force Unleashed 3 and Battle of the Sith Lords were the once I was looking forward too the most.
Man star wars 1313 I want that game so bad
What I want is a Vong War Dark Forces/JK game. GO full Doom 2016 with Kyle vs the Vong.
How a Star Wars game that works like Skyrim?
Glitches and all.😎
Do people still play jka and movie battle?
There was on the Lucasarts side, a feeling that some of the seed money for BF3 was being embezzled for Haze. Thus the lawyer. So it wasn't just something some of the staff thought, the idea was pretty firmly in their heads.
1313 hurts the worst. Remember being so hyped when the trailer dropped.
Living during the era, of modern history. Where History feels like media,
When did media stop feeling like history. Idk. Maybe I crazy, am fried.
term original six sickens me, this tells me I'm old :D
I’m guessing that the clone commandos of the ICSU we were going to play as was going to be named Onyx Squad. Either way, they should have focused on making Imperial Commando first and then Rebel Commando after that.
I think Star Wars can potentially show off some more gratuitous things if it fits with Star Wars, and showcases the darker more darker side of the galaxy far far away
I agree
I've been saying for almost 30 years now, the one star wars game we really need is Grand theft Airspeeder: Corelia. Forget the Force and the grand galactic battle of good versus evil. Give us a game where we steal flying cars and run drug/spice shipments for Black Sun while the Hutt Cartels send Gamorean and Gank goons to rough us up.
“The games that stayed in the galaxy Far Far Away”
2:08 thats not Ben Skywalker, thats Jacen Solo from the japanese Dark Nest Trilogy cover.
even if the Republic/Imperiale commando book series was never finished. They are brilliant. You should read them or listen to an audio book!
Amy Henning is working on a starwars game in her new studio Skydance new media. Maybe after rise of hydra we'll see a reveal.
I was always a little disappointed that there was not a Star Wars style Eve Online game.
To be fair concerning Battlefront 3, fragments of it were used to make Elite Squadron.
