Boy oh boy, you hit 3 huge works this month, bravo! Glad you loved Jane Eyre, it's my favourite novel :) great video as always!

Amazing! I, too, am working my way through Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock collection (I admit, I'm a little influenced by the BBC version) -- I love the editions you bought! I definitely haven't seen those covers here in Canada (and it makes me so sad!) Great video!

I've actually read most of these books and I pretty much agree with you on these! I've got Pride and Prejudice on my to read list. I did Wuthering Heights at GCSE english and could never get into it but -re-read it earlier this year and I LOVED it!!

I have almost finished reading Jane Eyre, and wow, what a beautifully written book. I liked the first half more than the second. In my opinion the plot isn't terribly exciting; however, the voice of the author is just so exquisite: I love how engaging Charlotte Bronte's writing is.

I wasn't that taken with Pride & Prejudice either. Jane Eyre is great though. Enjoyed your reviews, will look forward to more!

I've read Jane Eyre in July too. Great novel, loved it. And then I read Wuthering Heights for the 10th time, I believe, because it was part of a Comparative Literature exam. I could never get tired of it. I'm also currently reading the complete poems of Emily Bronte, and you can just feel Wuthering Heights in them!

hmm, I've read much the same books as you this past month - working my way through the Brontes, Orwell and Sherlock. Has the depressing Wuthering Heights grown on you since you finished? It's a strange book with hateful characters and I felt like throwing it across the room while I read it, but it certainly evokes strong feelings! I'm reading Jane Eyre this month and looking forward to it :)

I read Jane Eyre because I saw your review.....it was amazing, I really loved that book! It is so beautifully written and shows some very realistic personalities, they're very tridimensional people and It was very understandable, at least for me, their reason to act as they did. I just hope I haven't made a lot of grammar mistakes writting this....

Well, it's my favourite novel! I found it depressing too, when I read it for the very first time. Then I gave it another chance and - bam- love it was. I could read it over and over!

I have started reading pride and prejudice earlier in summer and I read about 5 chapters and got bored, I've seen every film of it and of course the BBC's adaptation.

I really need to reread Jane Eyre. I was forced to read just the first part (where she's at school and everyone dies) at school and, in my mind at the time, it sucked. I think that by stopping us reading the tension and plot development that comes later my English teacher managed to turn an entire class of people off this book.

Heathcliff, for me, was the one redeeming factor in Wuthering Heights. Oh, that and pervasive misanthropy. ;)

It's surprisingly boring isn't it? I still have to watch any adaptations of it!
