I like to make what I've heard called "Mexican style" vegan hotdogs. You take a small sub roll and put in a hot dog, a slice of vegan bacon and some pinto beans. You top it with brown mustard, vegan mayo (just a little), diced tomatoes, diced onions, and jalapeno sauce (pickled jalapenos chopped up in their own juice). There's a lot of flavor with the other ingredients so all you really need is some decent texture and a little smokiness from the hot dog.
Oo this sounds so good! My Sth American hubby likes "hot dogs completos" which we do nuttelex, hotdog, vegan cheese, avo, tomato, mayo, mustard, tomato sauce. So good!!
last time I ate a veggie dog, want to say it was Yves, I tasted overpowering liquid smoke flavoring. I love Field Roast sausages grilled and in pasta, or sausage potatoes and pepper bake
Those are the absolute best! I always have them on hand. They grill and air fry perfectly and kind of blow every other hot dog, including the other field roast dogs, away.
Most of the time I usually get some kind of sausages just because they have better flavor and there is more selection. When I do get hot dogs it's usually Lightlife because that what's available at my local store. The Field Roast Stadium dogs are nearby. I might try those. Btw, I love that you put up an image of which dog you were reviewing. That was so helpful. All reviewers should do that.
I like Yves as well. One of my Isa Chandra cookbooks had a recipe for seitan hotdogs. The flavour was pretty bang on. I believe I tried them before I knew you could buy vegan hotdogs. Weiners and beans is a good leftover dish. :)

My thing with every vegan hot dog I've ever had is that they taste exactly how hot dog water smells ... which is an instant NOPE for me. I've tried a few that y'all showed, and I've yet to have one I like, sadly.
Hotdogs size I appreciate...not sure I heard anything? Ok frank is an 90 Y/O American term. Maybe... I'm an immigrant. White AF but NO on the frank term. Fairly sure. Back to "size I appreciate " lol
