Hi .....thank you so much for promoting our Assamese traditional dress "MEKHELA CHADDOR " ... Th he bottom portion is called the Mekhela not skirt . And the plates should be pleated equally just as we do in sarees but in the opposite direction . And it's not asami ..it's Assamese or axomiya . And we only pin up the chaddor in the waist when we do bihu dance otherwise normally we leave the pallu as we do in sarees . Thank you .

It's not the perfect way of wearing mekhela sador...and it's not skirt it is called mekhela..u need to take the pleats of the mekhela in right direction not left
The pleats at the back are not pineed in the front . The pleats remain like they do in a saree,at thd back. Tbank you for pro.oting our traditional dress. Yoh look great in it.
