  • LOW BACK PRESSURE, LESS GAS - GET YOURS NOW!
The SilencerCo Velos LBP was just announced, and SilencerCo has given the people what they want. This tough little 5.56 suppressor can handle anything you can feed it. It combines the durability of the Saker with a new ultra-low backpressure design. It's an evolution, retaining everything that made the Saker series great and improving on it.
This durability comes from precision 3D printing, design, and of course the legendary Hoplon blast baffle. For years the Saker and Saker ASR series have been kings of durability. The Velos LBP dethrones the former champs and steps it up another notch. If you've got an MK46, Fightlite upper, or some drums on that 7.5" barreled M-16, the Velos can handle it.
For attachment, the Charlie mounting system is used. The ASR version ships with the Velos LPB, but it can use a number of industry-standard mounts. From direct thread to 3-party QD setups, the Velos is compatible. The Charlie system was used as it provides superior strength when compared to many other designs.
We've said it's a tough can, but to this point have only hinted at its most important aspect. The Velos is SilencerCo's first low-backpressure silencer. We mean low. Virtually nonexistent. When mounted on sensitive machine guns, there was no increase in cyclic speed and no blowback to the shooter. With the Velos LPB silencer on, your firearm will behave naturally. Less wear, less filth, and less noise to the shooter.

For a flow-through, this has the stoutest baffle-stack of any can...by far. Incolnel 925 is far tougher than any non-cobalt steel alloy (like stellite/cobalt-6). Big fan of the Huxworx, but this is an objectively *tougher* can than the Huxworx Flow....and not by a small margin. We're talking max temp ranges that are hundreds of degrees higher for the SiCo, and likely max internal pressures that are far greater as well.

It's really neat to me to see silencer design improve in new, specific ways. For a long time, sound level, weight/length/handiness and the general trade-off between the two were big variables you were either chasing or sacrificing. And a whole crop of other products came into being to mitigate the sacrifices you had to make but that didn't stop the silencer designers. They added modularity so the end user could make that general trade off when you wanted to. They chased a lower, deeper, more pleasing tone. They'd been chasing the issue of increasing cyclic rate and excess gas blowback to the shooter when suddenly the government is concerned about toxicity to shooters in the Next Gen Squad Weapon program. Lo and behold, the concerns align and the silencer designers once again demonstrate that the equation isn't as simple as it was once thought to be to be and they can do better with smarter design, better materials, better coatings, etc. And that's to say nothing of how direct thread used to be the only game in town and the idea of having a can that was easy to clean was a pipe dream. Just fantastic. I wonder things might look in ten more years with improvements I can't even think of.

Great point re: SA/SF weapon hosts vs bolt-action. This is what I hope Jay tackles at Pew Science: I am not super interested in the 300blk sub numbers on a bolt-action. Standardize to whatever you want to use, but we need SA readings.
I have a HX-QD 762 in jail, and while it may not be the quietest, I love how I am not eating gas with every round.

I cerakote full time professionally and have H, E, C, P, & V series coatings and will say this. If you are looking for true durability for a weapon you are planning on using frequently, then you will want to stick with H or E series coatings that require a catalyst along with oven curing. V-Series requires an oven cure but no catalyst

Saker cans are known for being gassy because they are 556 dedicated and more focused on sound suppression, this can is about 40% more durable 5% louder but the flow through aspect makes a huge difference, gun runs cleaner, no gas to the face, don’t have to tune your gun at all. Also it comes with an internal flash hider.

I'm in the Rocksett camp, but only after correct thread prep/cleaning, and only *with* correct torque, using a Precision Armament Accu-Washer. Most users skip steps or glob-on the Rocksett. You literally only need a single drop hanging from a toothpick....That's it.
Like CA said above, most users are just lazy and use too much Rocksett along with some BS gud-n-tite caveman tightening procedure....and then complain about their can backing off.

Until a can is real world hearing safe, NO reason to buy a suppressor for 5.56. MUCH cheaper to just wear hearing protection then a can and tax stamp. You still have to wear ear pro so the can is irrelevant. What possible use is a can for 5.56? Muzzle devices mitigate flash and backpressure without the need for a suppressor. If your using a SUPRESSOR your should be shooting subsonic ammo. If your rounds don't come in subsonic, there is no need for a suppressor. Switch to 300 blackout and a 30cal can.

  • @davidsobrito1398

When there is no context there is no telling how the suppressor works if at all. How about talk, say something, clap, fart, sobering so we can compare that to the noise coming from the gun. Understand we aren’t there! So this video was basically pointless!
