This problem is common on Vauxhall cars. However, one wonders why they can't use flexable wires in order to stop this from happening, this is a safety risk.

Hi, thanks for your video. Unfortunately, the back right door of my Vauxhall Astra was locked when I bought it second hand. I managed to remove the wire loom/connector and the inside door panel. Upon checking the connector, I realised that one of the wires (green/black) is broken. I added an extension wire to it and soldiered everything together. However, the door is still shut. I can hear a click when I press the central locking button on the key, which means that at least, electrical signal is getting to the mechanism. I have also checked the cable that links the inside door handle, and its working as well. I can also see a spring loaded mechanism inside the door panel when I press the outside door handle. I'm at my wits end trying to figure out the problem. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Dominic Obeng. It sounds like the rock is unlocking, but the connector from the door handle to the lock was removed. Check to make sure that it is still there. Pull it and that should open the door. If it does not open, on top of the lock is a small lever which you need to pull and that should unlock it and the handle from the outside should work. Because it was not locking, it’s is likely that the outside handle to lock connector was disconnected. Check to make sure that it is still there.
