Vectra B locking mechanisms repair

In this video you will see how to dissasemble, repair and reasemble the locking mechanisms of an Opel/Vauxhall Vectra B for both front doors. This repair is for the door getting stuck in double locked position and not unlocking untill you get lucky.

I don't know it's exact designation and model. It is visible in the video, try to compare it visually. Opening is a bit tricky because of the expanded metal shaft acting as a rivet, but you can just heat it up using a soldering iron after you undo all the screws and straighten the metal plate that is bent in to a channel in the plastic cover. than you heat up the shaft and it melts a bit of the plastic. Once you remove the cover you will see the switch soldered in the plastic assembly for the connector. It is a fairly generic switch, but it has to be rated same or higher amperage than the original switch.

I have seen them used in microwaves with a mechanical timer.
