Don't give up bud, happened to me as well yesterday at MEPS. I didn't eat and drank very little, my recruiters weighed me at 224 pounds with 26% body fat which was the max for me. At MEPS they weighed me at 215 pounds but with 29% body fat (Which was weird since I lost weight). I have a month and a half until I can go back to weigh me in.
I was about 14 over my limit and he measured my waist and said I was fine just to lose a few pounds and I should be fine. But since they’re picky just lose weight to be on the same side
I went into a MEPS Virginia center in 2014 and drove there myself. Got to the part with the doctor to weigh me on a scale. Found out for my height I was underweight for miminum requirement of the Coast Guard. That was my branch I was disqualified from and the Navy was the only one that didn't have this which he told me about. I still was upset my time was wasted being there for 12 ish hours and I was sent home to make a decision with my recruiter. He was pretty ignorant and naive when I told him what happened he said he didn't know that weight would be a problem and never saw that before. Offered to take me out to free dinners and buy me peanut butter cakes...smh 😆 my metabolism was so high that I've always struggled to pack on the pounds. I'm 6'1, I was 138 and needed to be 144. Could have wrote a waiver but I get why weight is important especially when you have to pull people out of the ocean and save lives. Ended up going to another career choice and never looked back.
A great way to lose weight in a pinch is to use laxatives, you'll be amazed by how much shit you can hold in your guts. I lost 4 pounds in one day. Shipping out Aug 27th!

Haha well you may lose more weight there. It all depends on how much you already exercise though. If you're fairly stagnant like I was you will lose a lot of weight as your body adjusts to the extra calories being burned. If you are already exercising regularly then you may gain weight in muscle mass and all the calories you intake as part of boot camp.
Basically you’re going to be exercising or moving around for 8 hours a day and eating an excess of 3000 calories a day, so prepare to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. For me that meant losing 26 pounds. For you it might mean gaining 10. 🤷🏻♂️
AKM5.45 SHOOTER Yes. Just make it easier on yourself and lie. They'll delay your enlistment for the littlest things like warts and shit. They don't know what you dont tell them. However, tell the truth on your background check because thats the only thing they can look at.
Brandon Lee That was my recruiter just about every time I went and talked to him lol. According to my recruiter, if everyone told the truth at MEPS, we would barely have any soldiers for our country. I understand that they are trying to recruit the best, but people make mistakes. For example, there are guys who smoked weed before, but they never been in trouble with the law for it. If you went to MEPS and told them you have tried weed before, they will automatically DQ you. That means half of the US population wouldn’t qualify at all already. People at MEPS are not your friends is what my recruiter told me. My friend was red flagged for having too much muscle lol. Im going to MEPS very soon, and I have some mosquito bites that caused some tiny red bumps. I wouldn’t be surprised if they red flag me for that and try to claim it’s something else
I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do. Just be wise about it and you should be fine! MEPS kept telling us over and over that they didn’t want to disqualify us (which I’m hesitant to believe, but okay) that they just want to make sure we will succeed in our careers, and that is fair. Being in the Armed Services is difficult, getting through Basic Training is difficult, and your body needs to be able to handle all of it. There were plenty of trainees that stopped training and then sat around waiting to go home because their bodies couldn’t handle the various types of stress at Basic Training. Personally I’d rather get stopped at MEPS and stay home than have to ship out to Basic and wait 9 weeks on crutches to go home again.
Beast Titan smoking weed is a disqualifier, but I believe the rule is that it had to be within the last year or two to count. If it was in 2012 don’t sweat it 😉 but don’t do it after you take the oath either because they do random drug testing regularly. I got tested the other day out of nowhere.
I broke my femur when I was like 10, do you think they will disqualify me? My leg doesn’t bother me at all though.. I don’t have any pain when running or stuff like that

It may or not be an issue, I can’t say for sure. Boot Camp is quite a change of scenery for most people and I’ve heard that the Army is cautious about that.
@@AndrusJones Adjustment disorder is the most commonly diagnosed issue apparently. If my doctor says I'm healthy now, no mood disorders, no meds, no further problems, and that I'm a stable person from this minor life stressor that was politically handled well, I'd take it that means I'm fine.

Should I lie about my tonsil surgery I got when I was 7? I know they'll probably ask when they look in my throat and I go to meps this Tuesday. Great video btw
They probably wouldn't care too much about that kind of surgery anyway, but if it isn't going to affect your physical status in Basic Training than you might not need to mention it.
