Long Live greatest late icon of Country Music Kenny Rogers! Alot of heart humor soul! He was very genuine, gifted, amazing, very cool, down to earth human being with beautiful natural voices as well!❤❤❤
Gosh I remember it was all about Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash In my house growing up my mom was all about Kenny Rogers she would’ve been heartbroken about his death but she passed away in 2017 RIP to one of the best country singers ever
My dad passed in 2012 at the age of 65. He looked so much like Kenny Rogers, especially when I was a child, when he had salt and pepper hair. Later in his life, the last 15 years, he was Santa, with his all white hair and beautiful blue eyes. Every time I see Kenny Rogers, on tv or hear his music, I think of my dad. My dad loved his music also. I will always remember my parents dancing to “through the years”. Such great music and great memories for so many of us.
I love how you present everyone's graves.Dont listen to the negativity of the ones that don't like what you do.You have MORE people that Love you & what you do.Keep up the great work& God bless❤️😘❤️🤗❤️🙏❤️😇❤️
My older sister is the biggest Kenny Rogers fan I’ve ever known. She was able to go to his very last concert. She, a full grown adult and doctor, was giddy and tearful throughout the whole thing. I was so happy for her that she got to go.
I saw Kenny Rogers at Foxwoods in Connecticut. He had the audience singing Lucille and he would chime in and laugh. So, I can proudly say that I sang with Kenny Rogers. Thank you so much for these videos, Scott. You make me feel like I'm right there with you. Thanks.
I used to ride around with my grandma in her 1981 Mercury Marquis with an 8 track tape player and we would listen to Kenny Rogers Gambler on 8 track tape. He was one of her favorites and is one of mine. Thank you for sharing your story and video with us. 💯
When i was growing up my peers asked me who my favorite singer was and i can remember saying Kenny Rogers. Meanwhile everyone made fun of me because they were all into AC/DC which i only listened to in secret since music like that was not played in my childhood home. One of my favorite memories of Kenny was him being onstage and he had his son Christopher on his shoulders and suddenly Kenny said we need to wrap this up I feel something warm running down my back. I just loved him the original silver fox!
I love his songs Lady and Through The Years. I'm not a country music fan, but certain songs from certain country music artists I'll make an acceptance for. I also, love to hear your stories and anecdotes. That's really cool that you got to meet him,and share a birthday with him and your dad. May Kenny and your dad RIP
What a beautiful resting place for Kenny Rogers. He is still one of my favorites. Scott, love your stories, love love love the way you do these gravesite visits. Keep on doing you man- that is why we are all here watching. ❤
I miss my dad too. Your videos helped me during a time of grief last year and even made me laugh a few times. Keep doing them exactly the way you want. 🇨🇦 I hope Dolly Parton lives forever.
I remember when my Mom was alive she loved Kenny Rogers her favorite song was Lady My favorite song is The Gambler great bridge, absolutely great song. Thanks Scott you are appreciated. R I P KR you are loved for generations to come. ♡
my very first mothers day, i got to go with my best friend to go to his concert (40 yrs ago) anyway were in the nose bleed section and he had a round stage, i ran down a bunch of stairs to get his picture and when i got down there, i held my camera up, he looked down so sweet and smiled for me i took the picture and peed down my leg, when i got my pictures back and i only got him from the waist down, lol loved him for a long time and will always love him, ty scott
I saw him twice in concert, I was star struck!❤ he was amazing I met the opening act also, cool guy. Love me some Kenny always!🙏 thanks so much Scott! I'll never forget being so close to him it was amazing...🎶🎶🎶🎶
Oh scott, never change! I am not the only one that really enjoys your videos because you do do them your way! You have put out a lot of masterpieces and your personality shows through.
I still remember the first time I heard Kenny. When my oldest brother wasn't home he gave me the OK to play 8 track tapes. I found Kenny and the First Edition and that was it, I was hooked. Ruby was a regular tune for my fam. A beautiful resting place but no flowers made me sad. Kenny passed just weeks before our precious moms, dear Scott and Robert Plant and I celebrate our day 24 hrs. before you, your dad and Kenny. 🤗. I'd say we are in good company. Loved your Kenny story. Happy holidays to you and all. 🎶🎸🎄✨⛄💝💚💖
That burial plot is amazing! He was an awesome man and I remember going to Tuscaloosa, Al with my Dad to see Lionel Ritchie and Kenny came out to sing “Lady”…. Not a dry eye in the place! That man could just smile and make you feel so calm and loved. He adored his fans and the chemistry he had with Dolly is one no one can touch.
My grandma raised me. Loved him and Conway. Hank Hill idolizes the guy. I think the Gambler pretty much surmises life. Good one Scotto. Watched at 550 am.
Loved hearing your story about meeting the great Kenny Rogers. His burial site is beautiful . I love eating Kenny Rogers Fried Chicken and my fav song is “Lady”. It brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it .
That story made my day. What a cool guy. Long, great career all the way til the end. Love Kenny Rodgers. What a beautiful final resting place in all ways.
I was going through my "Scott files" and found this one. I'm not sure how I missed it, but I'm so happy I found it 😊 I am a Kenny Roger's fan and The Gambler is my all time favorite! RIP Mr. Roger's. Keep up the great work Scott! ❤
Gosh... Kenny Rogers taught me the best lesson in life ever. "Know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away". Scott I'll send you a pm on Instagram re Kenny.
Thank you for this. I grew up wanting to be Kenny Rogers and I’ll never forget the night he died. A hero of mine for so many reasons. When I am in ATL next summer I’ll have to plan a stop. Thanks again.
Kenny amazing his music and movies are amazing . I seem him in concert he was so amazing he is one of my favorite . Kenny you will always be missed and loved. Rest in peace Kenny.
I had the pleasure of doing a few tours over the years for Kenny Rogers. Driving semi truck for a tour company out of Nashville. The man treated all of us drivers so well. He was a amazing person. A lot of fun to be around and the man could sing. Omg could he sing
Like your style. Keep doing what your doing. In your own style. Enjoy your stories. My fav Kenny Rogers song was "Island In The Stream." Because it was wriiten by incredible songwriters Gibbs brothers. Kenny's voice just took it to another level. Well done!♥️🎶🎙️🎸
One of the reasons I love your videos is your sincerity….You care and through that care you make us part of your life and the life discussed….I’m glad there’s no template
My parents played a lot of great music, and a lot of it was in English so I did hear the Gambler and Islands in the Stream quite a bit growing up. Then Kenny actually came to my country to open his restaurants-which we thought was mind-blowing, because he was this huge music star and he didn’t just go anywhere. Still eat there, still as good as ever. Great memories of a real life music legend. RIP the one and only Kenny Rogers.
Thanks Scott. He is sooooo missed I loved him too and always will . The day he died and I heard the news I totally cried and lost it !!!!!!! Thanks for the songs and memories. Again Scott thanks. Mm
My after-kindergarten class did a little skit to "The Gambler". I still have photos of that day in '78/'79. I still love the song and Kenny Rogers was a big part of my childhood. Always liked him. Thanks for a nice video. I like the way you do your videos.
My sister used to play Kenny on the turntable in our room all the time, he was going to come to Australia with Glen Campbell but Glen got sick. I wish I could have taken my sister to that concert.
In 1974, when I was 19, Kenny Rogers and the First Edition were playing at a club called The Plush Horse, in Huntsville, Alabama and I got to see them. I was at a table up front, trying to get a photo of the entire band. He saw me and stopped the show. He told everyone to come to the front of the stage and they posed for me to take photos. I walked up to the stage to thank him and he touched my face, which I swore I would never wash again. lol. He was so gracious and kind and I was a lifelong fan.
My mother still plays that Christmas album with Dolly, every year, every year. Great video, too bad his grave is right next to a street but it is what it is. Amazing marker for an amazing person.
i met kenny i was a bartender at a hotel where i live he was doing a concert and came there after the show he drank pepsi no beer and talked to me like i was his friend really nice guy got my hat aurographed by him loved all his music favorite is lucille
I always loved Kenny Rogers' songs, especially The Gambler. It has an infectious melody and some of the cleverest lyrics ever written - words to live by! It takes a special talent to sing storyteller songs in such an intimate, "been there, done that" way and Kenny had it, Dolly had it and Sinatra had it. I love listening to Sinatra on a rainy day. 😭 Thank you for stopping by in my hometown. You did a great job honoring Kenny Rogers. That's one impressive sarcophagus. At least it was easy to find, right? Margaret Mitchell, who wrote Gone With the Wind, is also buried there. I absolutely cracked up when you showed Kramer with his 3rd degree Kenny Rogers "rotisserie burn." 🤣 I have to look for that episode and re-watch it. 🤣 I'm so glad your channel popped up on my UA-cam a few months ago. I'm still playing catch-up on your older videos. Every one of your videos is a gem with beautiful filming, intelligent, well researched commentary, sensitively chosen music - and you crack...me...UP, i.e. your Canadian geese phobia and how you don't like cows looking directly in your eyes! 🤣 I watch a lot of these type vlogs and you are the absolute best. Safe travels home to Toronto mon ami (my late mother's family is from Montreal..."Crazy Canucks" 😉) I wish you a very Merry Christmas and look forward to many more great vlogs in 2022. Peace...OUT! 🖖🎄
Thank you for this video Scott. I am a Kenny Rogers fan too. I saw him in concert back in 1984 and had front row center seats. He was wonderful. All the graves you visit, I am walking along side of you. I am not able to travel to all the places you go so thank you for sharing. Love from Canada.
My grandma was in L💞ve with Kenny Rogers until the day she died! Remember singing the song "The Gambler" in music class when I was in the third grade! Have a Very Merry🌲Christmas Scott.... So glad I found your Channel this year! L💞ve Ya &🥂's My Friend❣
What a great tribute! I'm from Atlanta. I loved Kenny Rogers! I saw him and Dolly in a concert here, it was a round stage. They were awesome! Ty Scott! Take care and have a wonderful Christmas !❤
Thanks Scott for this video!!!.... U literally brought me back 2 my childhood... My stepfather was a HUGE country music FAN!!!!... Especially Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton!!!... As a little girl.. he used to tune into the local country station on the radio and ask me who's that playing?... it was always either Kenny Rogers or Dolly Parton!!!... lol🤣🤣🤣.. Those where the days!!!🥰😍... My stepfather passed away in 2012... Just watching this brought tears to my eyes!!!😢😢😢... Thanks again!!❤️... RIP KENNY ROGERS AND TO MY STEPFATHER!!!❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾😇😇🕊🕊
I am a Metal Head. Pure and through and through. Kenny always had a softspot for me. I loved the movie "SixPack" and all his songs that came throughout the '70s/'80s. His brand of Country (And a lot of artists from his time period.) Was the only Country I could stand. I think from the 90s on, I just stopped liking Country - PERIOD - Kenny Rogers will be missed. He was a treasure to listen to. Merry Christmas to all and you as well Scott. Love your channel, Great content!
Grew up on Kenny Rogers, CCR, The Carpenters, Beach Boys, and the Beatles, thanks to my parents. I never got to see him in concert, but I can imagine. All time Favorite song is The Greatest. I want my vow renewel song to be Through the years. I was hoping it would have been this year for our 20th (12/21/01). Things happen. Love you Kenny Rogers. You will always be one of my idols.
Kenny Rogers did have a home outside of Los Angeles before and then he moved to another place in Georgia where he had ranch outside of Atlanta and a lake on the ranch called “Lake Christopher” after his son Christopher. Gambler movies were his best, he did a few movies called “McShane”, as a private investigator but those were not shown often and didn’t have same chemistry as the Gambler movies did.
Coward of the County is my favorite Kenny song too. I met him once at a mall in Athens GA when I was around 14. Very nice man. My mom was a huge fan and was nearby so we got to a pay phone and asked her to come to the mall. Kenny waited for her and my mom was able to meet him. Kenny’s son Christopher was in a stroller and I had my cousin Christopher with me and the two sort of shook hands as 2-3 year olds. Cute. I have a loose connection to Marianne Gordon through my Grandmother on my dad’s side which I didn’t know at the time. I remember Marianne walking up and she had such a presence. Thanks Scott. Merry Christmas all!
Scott this was an awesome video! I love Kenny Rogers! I can remember my parents bought me a Kenny Rogers greatest hits album and Michael Jackson's Thriller for Christmas and I was hooked! Coward of the County, Lucille,Lady and The Gambler are my favorites! 😘💜
What a beautiful old cemetery. I loved Kenny Rogers and to hear him sing with that beautiful voice. I have listened to him for a lot of years. I had no idea he was buried in Atlanta. Always love to hear you ramble on! Great story! Lucky you getting to meet him! Are those two ex-girlfriends living in Australia now? Lol! Great job! I always love to hear about your personal life!
“You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run”. I try to live by that quote🙌🏾 Islands in the Steam is my all time favorite song. It’s a Bee Gees song🙌🏾 but Kenny and Dolly made that song a classic🙌🏾❤️
You're excatly right Scott! It didn't matter if you were a Metal Head, listened to R&B, whatever, everyone loved Kenny Rogers. We always loved when he did Lionel Richie's "Lady", and "Love Will Turn You Around", from the movie Six Pack. As an 11 year old boy, that movie was hilarious, and Diane Lane was a hottie in that movie.
Thank You So Very Much Scott, For Taking Us To Kenny Rogers Resting Place. It's Absolutely Gorgeous. I've Never Seen Anything Like It. May The Circle Never Be Broken.🎶A Very Beautiful Song. I've Always Loved And Respected Kenny, For His Singing Career, That Spanned over 50 Years. My Favorite Songs, Are "Lady" "You Decorated My Life" And "Through The Years". I Will Go There, And See With My Own Eyes, And Absorb The Beauty Of This Very Precious Shrine, And Pay My Respects To Him. He Certainly Had This Beautiful Shrine, Designed And Built And Was There, For His Resting Place. We Love And Miss You Kenny.💕 May Your Spirit Forever Rest In Peace. 💫✨ Amen 💞 Blessings From Illinois 💓 August 13, 2022
Thanks Scott, one of my late grandparents favourite singers remember hearing his music quite a lot when I used to stay there during summer holidays etc. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas 🎄
Scott this was an awesome video. I really only know Kenny Roger's for his biggest hits but everytime I hear his music it reminds me of my mom. She used to listen to his music when I was a kid. And I danced with her for the mother/son dance when Wendy and I got married. Thanks for bringing me such great memories. Especially at Christmas
My late parents loved country music especially Kenny Rogers, some of his songs still make me cry The song that made me laugh was Lucille, she left him with 400 children and a crop in the field
With yea all the way Scott, I like your videos!! I remember watching Kenny's weekly TV show (think it was the early70's) he had long hair, full beard and always wore tinted sun-glasses, my parents liked him and so did I. I put Kenny in with Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen, they were all a genre of their own!!
Scott, this is the reason why I and others love your channel so much because it's original, love your stories. Kenny Rogers is definitely a legend, growing up many people around me loved he's music. Oh, my birthday is on the 26th of August, have lovely day Scott.
Always remembered my parents playing Kenny Rogers all the time as a kid, naturally over the years his music has become a staple in my playlists! Another great video Scott, Merry Christmas and stay safe over these holidays bud.
I absolutely love Kenny Rogers, even though I was born and raised in the UK my parents were massively into country. So Kenny and Charley Pride and Don Williams were constants in my life.
Kenny was such a staple of my childhood, I remember my mom had a cassette with Kenny & Dolly on it she would play that over and over...I would always stare at that cover w Dolly and my mom would ask why are you staring at that? I would say" I just like his outfit"...LOL she would just laugh

Absolute legend, and a truly good person, which a lot of these "famous" people aren't.
Loved his music 🎼🎶 played a lot of the ballads on my piano 🎹 thank you, Scott and God bless you this holiday. 😊❤️🙏
Thank you for this amazing video.
Ho....ho...ho, Becca! I hope you & your sweet daughter have a great holiday. 🤗😊
@@vernacohen6988 Verna!!!! I hope you have a great holiday!! Thank you! 💗
One is in Australia…the other …in my trunk.
Juuuuust kidding! Merry Christmas Jana!!
@@SCOTTONTAPE Lol! Merry Christmas Scotty!
Believe it or not, I'm still alive. 😊 Happy holidays, dear Jana! 🤗
@@vernacohen6988 Verna! I am so happy to hear from you! Hope you and your family are well! Happy Holidays!
“You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run”. I try to live by that quote🙌🏾
Islands in the Steam is my all time favorite song.
I love Kenny Rogers songs
Scott this was an awesome video. I really only know Kenny Roger's for his biggest hits but everytime I hear his music it reminds me of my mom. She used to listen to his music when I was a kid. And I danced with her for the mother/son dance when Wendy and I got married. Thanks for bringing me such great memories. Especially at Christmas
My late parents loved country music especially Kenny Rogers, some of his songs still make me cry
The song that made me laugh was Lucille, she left him with 400 children and a crop in the field
4 hungry children
He was one of my favourite country singers
He has a very nice resting place. Nicely done video
I love the episode of The Muppet Show, from way back, where Kenny sang The Gambler in a "train car" with some muppets.
his last song i sobbed so hard great song the goodbye song
Ahh you did it again. Blue ribbon all the dear one. What a loss to the music industry. Kenny could do it all!! Thanks Scott xo
Kenny was such a staple of my childhood, I remember my mom had a cassette with Kenny & Dolly on it she would play that over and over...I would always stare at that cover w Dolly and my mom would ask why are you staring at that? I would say" I just like his outfit"...LOL she would just laugh
Loved the gambler.. cheers from Riverview New Brunswick
Great story about meeting Kenny! One of the first singles I ever bought was "Just Dropped In" .. I played it endlessly!
Keep making them just the way you are making them. I love the stories of how you met people. Keep doing people you care about
