If one vibration sensor has 3 outputs to the scope, for sure 4 sensors would need 12 outputs for a scope? It was mentioned one road test and at each vehicle corner, one sensor. How to connect?

Hello and thank you for the feedback and comments.
Regarding 4 accelerometer applications, these are typically applied when the initial road test has been carried out with a single 3 axis accelerometer.
Here we locate the offending axis and frequency. ( E.g.T1 vertical axis) we the use 4 accelerometers on each corner of the vehicle measuring just the offending vertical axis.
The up and coming videos will cover additional applications of accelerometers.
I hope this helps. Take care. Steve.

Thank you for posting so many great videos. The information you guys give out is so so valuable and we all appreciate the work that goes into making these sorts of videos. I am a heavy duty (class 8) truck technician and was wondering if you know if any of the automotive picoscopes are able to get J1939 engine data so that we can get live engine rpm during a test drive? I haven't found any information concerning this but maybe I'm looking in the wrong spots? Thank you.

Hello and thank you for the feedback. Could you take a look at the following forum post www.picoauto.com/support/topic17701.html as we have now included this protocol in our NVH software. You can download this software for free here www.picoauto.com/downloads. Our Automotive PicoScopes will function with J1939 diagnostic tooling when licensed for NVH measurements, so allowing for acquisition of RPM and Vehicle Speed. I hope this helps, take care.......Steve

Those adaptors accelerometer magnets ets are available seperate?
Ours damaged on the road. Slipped out from brake area. Also recommends some good holders for them in ur design which can really stick on to surfaces where there are heavy vibrations subjected to...

Which is the best setting for checking wheel bearing noise when it makes a harmonic humming above some 80 km speed

Hello and thank you for the feedback, sorry for the late reply.
The application of NVH for wheel bearing diagnosis is covered in depth here www.picoauto.com/support/post91701.html#p91701 where we can play back the audio captured by the attached accelerometer or mic. Often listening to the captured data is sufficient to call a judgment on which wheel bearing to replace. The frequency views also enable you to capture the multiple harmonics that originate from worn bearings as can be seen in the link above. Exporting accelerometer data to audio files is also covered here www.picoauto.com/support/topic21639.html?
I hope this helps, take care…….Steve
