This is one of the reasons I want to go back and read the webcomic from the beginning again. It feels like there were a lot of little tidbits in Act 5 especially that went over my head. Without the further exploration of Troll romance in Act 6, I didn't really get what was going on here the first time, so I definitely have to go back and explore all of this again.
Vriska's death reminded me of a saying. "You don't need luck when you have knowledge." She relied on luck to survive, but she couldn't account for Terezi knowing what would occur, and no level of luck could save her from that.
Alison Smith nah light is both luck AND knowledge. but mind is decisions and, ironically enough, reality. when you are so caught up in the light of luck and knowledge that you forget the reality of the situation, this is what puts you at risk.

In the prospective timeline Doc Scratch described, she only became an unstoppable killing machine once she saw that her friends were all dead. I don't think she could live with the guilt of what she had just done to Tavros.
I love Andrew Hussie's way of making people feel bad for characters who originally were antagonists. Vriska talking to John during the blackout made me feel terrible. And I am sure the same happened with everyone else. Also idk why but this reminds me of Mad Father.
In all honesty, I thought Cobalt Thief on the bandcamp would sound like all the Vriska songs, fast paced with a guitar. When I heard this, it's kinda refreshing. A more sympathetic light sounding song.
I can see a lot of people saying that they feel bad for Vriska because of all she's been through, and they feel guilty for hating her, but I don't think we should feel bad for Vriska. She did torture Tavros by asking him to end her life, and then seeing what she put Sollux and Aradia through, she has a lot to hate about her. i dont really like how everyone hates a certain character in homestuck, vriska is awesome, a good leader, badass and deep down she has a friendly, kind and amazing personality. She's sassy and funny. Gamzee did some bad things too, and felt no remorse, but i cant find myself not liking him, his god teir just cracks me up to hard, and also he's pretty fucking cool and badass. I say i may not like eridan much, but really i like too. Equius i can sort of relate to, because he is a void player, and really its sort of sad when you think about it. Feferi, well i didn't really focus on her that much, and really zoned out when she was alive, she seems like a good character who is pretty funny when i went back and looked. Aradia is weird and awesome. Sollux is pretty fucking cool. Tavros may seem like a wimp, but he can do things himself and is a deep character, like the rest. Nepeta is cute and sort of sad. Karkat is funny and mad all the time and damn he has a fucking right lol, but really he is a deep character and has emotions and is pretty emotional. Kanaya is smart, intelligent and one of my favs, though really i love all of the trolls, all of the characters. Terezi is funny and manical and really i cant relate sort of. I love all the characters, even though they have done bad things, like gamzee, vriska, caliborn, and a few others, such as the condesce, i still love it all. I love homestuck and all of its characters and i can't find myself hating any one of them, even the ancestors, they are all funny and quirky in their own way, evenn cronus, kurloz and meenah, and the alpha kids, they are amazing even though... y'know. I was listening to this while re reading the dialogue from the time before vris went to try to fight Jack, and honestly, I can't stop crying. Vriska is one of my favorite characters. I honestly can't see why so many people hate her. Yeah, she did some bad things, but, we all do bad stuff in some points on our life's, don't we? Hell, Vriska even admitted the stuff she did was bad. Vriska is one of my favorite characters and I am more than proud to admit that I love her.

Before I even started reading Homestuck, my friends talked to me (alot) about it (not that I minded it, it's thanks to them that I know of it), and I understood that Vriska was supposed to be a bit bitchy, but for some reason........ I could never really hate her. And then when I got so far in the story, she became my favorite troll.... Maybe even my favorite character

This soundtrack makes all the Serket haters think about what the amazing things they have avoided about Vriska. Remember when John was in the car with UV, and they were talking? Vriska knew all the things she did was bad, and this song portrays it. I thought something for her would be mad dubstep or drums or something, but when you think about it, this matches her perfectly. Vriska has done some truly horrible things, but I still love her. She tries so hard, but keeps fucking up. I wonder if any of the other Alpha trolls could have survived with her lusus. Maybe Eridan or Terezi. But it's horrendous that she was made into a child soldier by her own mother. Doesn't excuse or fix any of the awful things she's done, but I don't think any other troll in her position would turn out much better (if they survived at all). Love her.
I think the line "Please save him" is referring to John maybe? She was willing to sacrifice herself by fighting Jack Noir so all her friends and John could win. She doesn't really have much chemistry with much other boys except tavros but I doubt it's referring to him.
I heard that the song was originally supposed to be for Serenity the firefly, but was switched to be Vriska's. iirc, Serenity blinks "please save him" either when PM was about to follow jack, or when dream bubble feferi was healing the Mayor.
okay i honestly think the "please save/help him" is about john because before she died, she was worried about him dealing with jack. even as she was dying, she was talking to him. wanting him to know how much important his back up plan was and all that junk. it'd be cool if it was about tavros but he was already dead and she kind of hated him. john was facing the possibility of dying in a fight with jack. and remember even after she died, the first thing she did was seek out the john that got killed by terezi's shenanigans.

Vriska had a horrible life that's why, with her lusus making her kill so she could live that's what she knew, to keep away from other, tr for no friends, and never get close. In the end she really didn't have any friends. Terezi was the first one to leave her and it was because she hated that she had killed other trolls not understanding it was her or them. Then John after words Kanaya since she saw her kissing Tavros so she then lost her moirail which would be very harsh on her mind since Kanaya never told her why. She didn't really have many other friends since she never knew how to treat others along side that she always had to keep her distance so she could and not feel guilt one day if she had to give them to spider mom.
Sarah Kessler ah. Terezi didn't "leave" Vriska because she hated how she killed people, she actually joined her ergo their flarp team the scrouge sisters,they stopped being friends when Vriska mad Terezi loose her sight and when Terezi made Vriska lose her sight in one eye and a arm.
辺古山 ペコ IRLmagikarp terezi was mad at vriska for killing aradia and crippling tavros, so she told doc scratch vriska had his magic cue ball. Scratch blew up the ball in Vriska's face which made her lose her arm/eye. Vriska when blinded terezi out of revenge.
This has such a surreal feel to it, covered in something somewhat magical. 8ut it's blanketed by a tragic tone, however if you listen closely, 8eyond the 8itter despair, you will find the light.

If I didn't know that Vriska wouldn't want my care, concern, or friendship, and I could meet her (even though I know that's impossible), I would do my darndest to befriend her and help her onto a better path. If she were to push me away, I'd keep coming back. Behind her cruel behavior and misguided actions lies the potential to be a great friend and hero. It breaks my heart that she never took the chances she was given. I believe that there could still be redemption for her. Even the worst person can change, if they try. She'd think I were a sap if I said as much, but I don't care. I still believe in her. It's never too late. Maybe this is the emotional Witch of Heart in me talking, but I DO believe that anyone can be better. Dream-bubble Vriska is proof of that. Vris just needs a friend to set her straight. She needs a good moirail and a LOT of mercy (both shown her and taught). Sorry about this rant to anyone who reads this. I suppose this song got to me and I needed to vent. They could have done it and been done, but she was responsible for two immortal dog gods, and in a seperate timeline she almost killed all the trolls by leading Jack to the meteor. ^This was all intentional. Do you get why people hate her? She's also incredibly egotistical, and she emotionally abused Tavros, paralyzed his legs, killed him, blinded Terezi, and killed Aradia using Sollux.

Before I even started reading Homestuck, my friends talked to me (alot) about it (not that I minded it, it's thanks to them that I know of it), and I understood that Vriska was supposed to be a bit bitchy, but for some reason........ I could never really hate her. And then when I got so far in the story, she became my favorite troll.... Maybe even my favorite character

I hated Vriska almost the entire time I read homestuck, but when I heard this song it made me realize how much of the things that I ignored about her just because I didn't like her. Now I don't hate her, I actually kinda like her.
This soundtrack makes all the Serket haters think about what the amazing things they have avoided about Vriska. Remember when John was in the car with UV, and they were talking? Vriska knew all the things she did was bad, and this song portrays it. I thought something for her would be mad dubstep or drums or something, but when you think about it, this matches her perfectly. Damnit Terezi.
I just realized this song was extended 8 days after my 13th birthday.

Vriska has done some truly horrible things, but I still love her. She tries so hard, but keeps fucking up. I wonder if any of the other Alpha trolls could have survived with her lusus. Maybe Eridan or Terezi. But it's horrendous that she was made into a child soldier by her own mother. Doesn't excuse or fix any of the awful things she's done, but I don't think any other troll in her position would turn out much better (if they survived at all). Love her.
I think the line "Please save him" is referring to John maybe? She was willing to sacrifice herself by fighting Jack Noir so all her friends and John could win. She doesn't really have much chemistry with much other boys except tavros but I doubt it's referring to him.
I mean...she did also KILL Tavros.

I heard that the song was originally supposed to be for Serenity the firefly, but was switched to be Vriska's. iirc, Serenity blinks "please save him" either when PM was about to follow jack, or when dream bubble feferi was healing the Mayor.

okay i honestly think the "please save/help him" is about john because before she died, she was worried about him dealing with jack. even as she was dying, she was talking to him. wanting him to know how much important his back up plan was and all that junk. it'd be cool if it was about tavros but he was already dead and she kind of hated him. john was facing the possibility of dying in a fight with jack. and remember even after she died, the first thing she did was seek out the john that got killed by terezi's shenanigans.

Wwell, Vvriska did go through some pretty bad heartache when she lost John. Also did you knoww that Vvriska has been searching through the dream bubbles to find John so they could go on that date they planned?
Vriska had a horrible life that's why, with her lusus making her kill so she could live that's what she knew, to keep away from other, tr for no friends, and never get close. In the end she really didn't have any friends. Terezi was the first one to leave her and it was because she hated that she had killed other trolls not understanding it was her or them. Then John after words Kanaya since she saw her kissing Tavros so she then lost her moirail which would be very harsh on her mind since Kanaya never told her why. She didn't really have many other friends since she never knew how to treat others along side that she always had to keep her distance so she could and not feel guilt one day if she had to give them to spider mom.

Sarah Kessler ah. Terezi didn't "leave" Vriska because she hated how she killed people, she actually joined her ergo their flarp team the scrouge sisters,they stopped being friends when Vriska mad Terezi loose her sight and when Terezi made Vriska lose her sight in one eye and a arm.
辺古山 ペコ IRLmagikarp terezi was mad at vriska for killing aradia and crippling tavros, so she told doc scratch vriska had his magic cue ball. Scratch blew up the ball in Vriska's face which made her lose her arm/eye. Vriska when blinded terezi out of revenge.
This has such a surreal feel to it, covered in something somewhat magical. 8ut it's blanketed by a tragic tone, however if you listen closely, 8eyond the 8itter despair, you will find the light.

The hate on any of the characters presented in this comments section (particularly towards Gamzee or Vriska) kinda sucks. You can't hate on any one character (except maybe hussie :p, lol jk). Each character had their own flaws (I mean come on even Caliborn had to have had his reasons), for if any one character were missing in Homestuck, it just wouldn't be the same, now would it.

If I didn't know that Vriska wouldn't want my care, concern, or friendship, and I could meet her (even though I know that's impossible), I would do my darndest to befriend her and help her onto a better path. If she were to push me away, I'd keep coming back. Behind her cruel behavior and misguided actions lies the potential to be a great friend and hero. It breaks my heart that she never took the chances she was given. I believe that there could still be redemption for her. Even the worst person can change, if they try. She'd think I were a sap if I said as much, but I don't care. I still believe in her. It's never too late. Maybe this is the emotional Witch of Heart in me talking, but I DO believe that anyone can be better. Dream-bubble Vriska is proof of that. Vris just needs a friend to set her straight. She needs a good moirail and a LOT of mercy (both shown her and taught). Sorry about this rant to anyone who reads this. I suppose this song got to me and I needed to vent. Whatever the case, I hope that others feel the same.

Vriska - The most baddass, and most depressing character in homestuck.
I'm not too into Homestuck (please don't hate me ;-;) but I will admit, it's soundtrack is absolutely beautiful. I cannot stop finding more and more beautiful pieces like this one.

LyraSoftSugar She kinda trashed the whole session. She is the single reason that the Beta Trolls aren't living in the Alpha Kids session already. Like, seriously? Come on! They could have done it and been done, but she was responsible for two immortal dog gods, and in a seperate timeline she almost killed all the trolls by leading Jack to the meteor.
^This was all intentional. Do you get why people hate her? She's also incredibly egotistical, and she emotionally abused Tavros, paralyzed his legs, killed him, blinded Terezi, and killed Aradia using Sollux.
