Yep, I love saving old metal and to see a 1965 generator and coil still working is pretty cool. Even the 6v regulator works. Don't have a starter yet but they still sell them cheap
Thanks Jim, yes it was kinda bugging me to see if it would run even though I knew the charging was working. The thing about these is sometimes the polarity switches and they will run backwards which if in the car and the rotation is clockwise it won't charge unless the polarity is switched back. Allot of generators were tossed because of this back in the day. I guess I should have added to this video how to switch it back if that happens. Oh well maybe do another video on that someday but too busy now that I'm moving ahead on the VW motor. Just checked and the guy is still holding the Corvair motor for me. I told him it may be next spring before I can afford to get it. He said no problem. excited to work on it as you can probably tell. We are leaving for down south next Saturday road trip
