She can apply for German citizenship herself because she qualifies. Amendments to the German Nationality Act in 2021. Starting from August 2021, children born after May 23, 1949, to a German parent can now claim German citizenship. The new rules will be in force for ten years. She just needs to go to the German Embassy in Thailand to apply with proof of paternity. She really should just speak to the embassy people to see what her options are if her father isn't willing to help her.

As the father of a beautiful luk krung daughter of 4 months I can’t imagine ever leaving her to be on her own. She is such a blessing for me at 65 already having raised a daughter in America whom I also love dearly and am still very close to her at age 34 and who just recently visited us in Thailand with my 2 grandchildren. The father of this young lady should man up and consider himself very lucky and should treasure her and any time he can spend with her. I may or may not be around when my daughter is this age so I treasure every second with her!

My heart goes out to her. I thought I would just watch a minute of her interview and ended up watching the entire thing and wanting more. So sad. Is there any way you can follow up with her now that it has been over a year and see how she is or has been doing? She deserves the best.

Yes her story is sad indeed. I made this back in 2022 and don't have any contact information. But like you, I also hope she's doing well.

She suffers great mental strain from her situation. I worry how this will manifest in her behaviors. You can see she really has a big heart.

Her dad needs to step up and get the German citizenship for her. DNA will prove she is his daughter. She needs a father not a lame duck

Pretty eye opening to see how different we "mixed" Thais turn out. Growing up, I got used to seeing half-Thai kids (including myself) having a golden ticket to prosperity in life.
Some half-Thai kids however, end up not as lucky.
From my experience, the true difference between the kids that end up doing well and those that end up doing not as well are the social circles they get involved in, the friends they have, and equally as important, fluency in English.
Also very common for half-Thai kids to grow up in an environment where both parents separate/divorce; sometimes it's what makes us relate to each other more than anything, as we also suffer a lot from an identity crisis. We don't feel like we belong anywhere. Thai people call us farang, and foreigners call us Thai.

Thank you in taking the time to share your insightful points! Especially since you're half Thai as well. I recently did an interview with another half Thai, and her life is almost the complete opposite of the girl in this video!

Asian businesses can really be like Office Space. If they really like an employee, that person can just not show up for work, go there drunk, all kinds of stuff. But they won't ever fire them or get angry.

Did you keep in contact with her or spoke her after this interview about how she is doing?
Anyway, she has her heart in the right place and good spirit. As the Thais would say in difficult situations: Susu na krab

Is her brother from the same German father? Her father is German so I don't understand why it's so hard for her to move to Germany? It doesn't make sense. She should be German by her father!

@@johnterry3312 @John Terry Passport is one, but come to Germany is the other... Gimme money for the flight. And after this? Can she speak german? Then find an apartment and a job in Germany... What will become of the little brother? And: YES ! She should have the German Passport. Father is German - so, YES ! If she & her brother have the same father, I as a German, think they should both had the german passport.
