This is an absolutely beautiful ramcharger. Sounds fantastic. Chrysler definitely has had the best sounding engines they're big blocks and small block sound better than any of the others
I had one in the 80's with a 318. Lived in Wyoming, had a chance to get it stuck in snow, water, rough terrain and anything else, problem is it could power it's way out of all of it. If you needed a recovery truck this was a pretty good one.
Adam Breckenridge that's okay ,but I look for people with a great taste that they like the old cars and trucks more than today's gay looking cars and trucks, example is the Chevy Silverado and the Ford Focus!
Factory 440 ramchargers are pretty rare. 1978 was the last year for the 440. I can imagine the production numbers must be pretty low. Mine is an 84, manufacture date sept 83.
I love the RamCharger because you don’t see it so often it’s an awesomest 70’s ride for sure , this particular ‘77 one is absolutely gorgeous I love it ❤️🇦🇺
I've had 4 70's Ramchargers, an 84 and a 90 in my lifetime and yes only the 70's had removable tops, but all of them were standard factory hardtops. Never in my 40 years of owning Mopars (still do) have I heard or seen a factory standard soft top. Hell, not sure if you could even order one from the factory, but I do know they did, and still do make aftermarket soft tops for Ramchargers. My favorite though, was my 78 with the 440. It was an old county sheriff's rig. I put a roll bar in it and made a bikini top for it and ran it around the summer all the time. After repairing the typical floor pan rust, I Rhino lined the interior. Btw, its typical for old Mopars to have faulty fuel gauges. If you pull the instrument panel out, on the back behind the 4 gauges, ther will be a module that looks like a AA battery, its not, but that module is usually the culprit.
Chrysler was the only one to offer a big block in both the Ramcharger and the Trailduster. Always made me wonder why Ford didn't try the 460 (Fuel economy by 1978 I guess). GM never tried the 454 in 4WD until the 90s when they managed to improve economy a little. Kudos to Chrysler for giving us all options
Nice looking truck. I love the truck from the past. I have a 1954 Dodge Fargo that I am working on. I picked this truck for the same reason that you picked your. You just don't see these trucks much anymore. Thanks for sharing. Drop over to my Dog House to see what is going on. 👍👍
Our neighbor had a new ‘78 with 360. My dad had a new ‘77 K5 Blazer 4x4 back then in southern Ontario Canada. We were always competing, lots of snow. Gotta say the ram charger was a little more crude but I liked it just as well as ours
I like the detail in the video but I think we all wanted you to get on that 440! That’s the selling point and we want to see it bump through the gears!
I had an 87 Blue and White with a 318. Not great on the highway but it was a beast. Wish I still had it now.Leave springs on the front,no wonder it bounced around on the highway.

Ramchargers will work forever but ,you need machanic skills to own one ,shops charge to much ,mine has almost a mill on it ,318 still runs good ,motor and trans are the best as far as lasting ,but there are small things that can cause major damage .if you have trans slip fill it over fill line it will stop.

How was the heat with the rhino-lined interior?
Yeap soft top was a factory option, but almost everyone upgraded to hard top.
I had a 77 ram charger with a 440 big block back in 1984. I wish I still had it❤👍. Yours is beautiful 👍👍👍
Perfect video that respects an aged beast. The kings of the mountain are the RAM. If you can't Dodge it. Ram it.
That's the way I feel about it . If you can't Dodge it Ram it ! MOPAR RULES

drip rails and add on stuff hold all road grime leaves etc , and around the front core support /radiator look for major rust, and behind all wheels
Love it! I daily drive my yellow 79 on 33's in and out of downtown Seattle.
You never see 76 Plymouth Traildusters either , I have one.

Dream truck. Never knew they were awd. Broncos came with a 351w too.

The videos aren't long, they're detailed.
I disagree. Watch the video with out sound. Its just some dude fingering an old dodge ram charger.
Just for knowing, could a 440 BB be dropped in a 2010 2500 bighorn?

Ramcharger´s did always com with plastic fuel tank 120 gallon. The rear end is not Dana 44, it´s a 9-1/4 Chrysler .
They didn’t have a 120 gallon tank.
Exactly. They called them the corporate rear end LOL because it is a Chrysler 9 and 1/4

How does a 440 compare to a 454 or 460 in terms of durability?
Yes that is very nice and yes you could get a 400 or a 460 in the Bronco and a 454 in the Chevy Blazer
My late brother in law had a '78 K5 with the 454 from the factory so yes they came with them, very rare.
Nope not in a production line. Dodge were off the factory line with 440. Broncos and Blazers had to be SPECIAL ORDERED!!!
Top factory option in the Bronco was the Cleveland 400 in 78 and 79 only. Top Blazer option was the 396 from 69-72 and the 400 small block from 74-80
