@@belencoelho1968 Yes, but the person who went through the abuse and nobody helped him. His father doesn't have a right to hit him, in the first place too. He took his childhood away. The same way my parents did to me.
Which is why it doesn't make sense for Trish (Hardin's mother) to forgive him and be mad at Hardin for not forgiving him. Both her and her son got traumatised due to him being stupid and irresponsible. For many mothers, if they and their child got put into danger and their child got traumatised due to their partner's actions, they would never forgive their partner. And why should they? That would just be too for them to forgive. And there's nothing wrong with not forgiving someone. Forgivenes doesn't always make everything better. Also, not only did the assault happen because of Hardin's dad, but Hardin's dad was also abusive too. So he always was a horrible husband and father long before the assault happened. Also, it doesn't seem like Hardin's dad actually owned up to his own mistakes since he was just making excuses for himself for why he couldn't have been at the house that night the assault happened. Hardin's father deserves to be hated by both Hardin and Trish, and they have every right to never forgive him.
