No, I think the way she purposefully waited for him to finish the bet, and for her to get too attached, shows how she really didn’t care about her, and rather just wanted to hurt her. And not to mention the way she did it in front of all of her friends, and her attitude towards tessa. I think Steph was in the wrong for not telling her, as in the books all of the events leading up to it, she made tessa believe that it wasn’t a game. They were a toxic group of friends, and Hardin should have told her when he knew that his feelings were serious, and he should have stopped the bet

What I don’t get is why Hardin waited for tessa to find out. Yes, it would have hurt her to know, but she deserved the truth from HIM. I’ll never understand why he didn’t just say something when he knew his feelings were becoming real, and if he really loved her, he wouldn’t have followed through with the bet. He told her that he cared about her, yet he still showed them the proof of her lost innocence to prove a statement, showing how he more so cared about his reputation than Tessa and her dignity.

Aside from the inevitable bad boy romance novel characters having a plot twist that reveals any/all initial false pretenses, Hardin’s alter ego (Tom Riddle/Lord Voldemort) was conceived via a love potion and as a consequence, can neither feel nor express love lol. In fact, any expression or witnessing of love physically weakens and hurts him. Just a little HP sarcastic humor for everyone! Lol

she interrupted him when he started to tell her that he loved her, she didn't know that, and anyone who would find themselves in a situation like her would break up and leave at that moment, i can't imagine how broken they both felt then, Hardin because he loves her and he lost her, and Tessa because she loves him and she thinks he pretended to love all the time.
