- Here's a throwback of Qi Ji, our water baby. Craig and I were waiting for him to get in the water, and he finally did! He gave us a show! He was such a happy little guy at the Smithsonian. He seems so listless in the videos I have seen of him in China. It just breaks my heart.
Our beloved Qi Ji remembers the delight of solving his puzzle feeders for the yummy rewards. Makes me so happy and at the same sad as it reminded me of the countless hours spent watching him do the same at the National Zoo. Thank you to little miracle’s care team for the enrichment feeder. Thank you to the videographers. ❤️🐼
He certainly loved splashing in his pools! Wonderful memories ❤
So cute! He loves to swim, climb, explore and conquer challenges! Mama is totally unfazed and enjoying her picnic in the sun. Miss them!

How I wish they were all still here. The zookeepers really loved them.
I miss watching him wading in his pool. He was always a happy baby but he was next level happy in his pool! I really hope he can have a deeper pool in China! You always got the best footage for us of our baby in the pool! I miss him…..😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I miss this handsome boy sooooo much!
It’s heartbreaking to see how different his life and being are now as compared to this time at the national zoo. His enclosure In China is way too small, no trees to climb at all, nothing to climb, no high rocks, no tepees, like the one at the national zoo, no ponds to splash in,. Now he eats and sleeps, and paces and seems totally inactive and with no opportunity to be active or play, it’s truly sad. These old videos of his former life at the national zoo are so wonderful and yet painful to watch, as we know he now lacks so much in his new home. I really wish they would rethink their arrangement for him… he also has absolutely no shade in his littl yard in China. How will he fare in th warm months?
