I needed this video so badly!! Thank you so much. I just got a horse and my trainer always did the haltering. I didn’t realized it wasn’t that easy until I tried it myself and my horse got frustrated with me. Again thanks so much❤️❤️

Is it possible for y'all to do a video about leg pressure. About inside and outside leg pressure, and about when to apply it? Also, what part of your leg should you be using?

Thanks for this video! I know it's pretty old at this point but I'm a small animal vet tech in training who needs to know some large animal skills to get through my program and this video is super clear and helpful.

Thank you! We have had a rescue horse for 4 weeks. We put his halter on when he was down and couldn't get up and have left it on, checking it everyday to make sure it is not rubbing. Mainly kept it on because the former owner couldn't believe he let us put it on in the first place. I have not had a horse for about 30 years, so much of this is new again. I think I could take his halter off now and get it back on. Is it bad to leave it on him if we are checking it? I know - really newbie questions - but that is why I am glad I found your channel.

I know this is from two years ago and it probably isn't an issue any more but I wanted to comment anyway! I personally don't like the idea of keeping halters on all the time, although it may be necessary for the short term. They can rub, get hung up on fences or tree branches, etc. and I've ever seen a horse get his front hoof caught up in one. It was horrible!

@@cornerstoneequineacademy-h3274 he no longer wears it ;) in fact he is healthy and beautiful and is living his best life. Every day I let him out of the yard into the rest of our property and at about 5:00 he wants back in with his goats.

Great video! The way you preferred to halter her is the way I prefer haltering horses, too...as I don't like sliding it down their face, because I feel like it gets too close to their eyes. But the second way is great!

Horse runs away from me when he sees me with the halter and won’t let me approach what do I do?
He’s not violent of anything, once I catch him and manage to put the halter on, he’s ok and calm but it takes a while to catch
