I truly appreciate your unaltered, transparent assessment. I've become disgruntled with the channels that continue to push product, making everyday folks into lawn and turf "hypochondriacs." This May, I've struggled with kids being sick, my day job being extraordinarily busy, family vacation, and dance recitals (I'm a girl dad). I'm lucky if I can mow twice a week during the last month and a half. Just trying to stay above "water" with PGR. That being said, my yard looks better than 90% of the lawns in my neighborhood. Life is real.
Indeed. And I'm glad you say that because it is the message I'm trying to communicate for people. Provide as much knowledge as I'm capable to provide and then do the best I can for people to reasonably implement that into normal life. I'm also cleared to walk so content should start flying here. Thanks again.
Wish mine had these problems. Took the plunge and went hard in with my first leveling this spring. Had to put it off til the week before Memorial Day. I was not prepared for the drought. Barely any of the seed I put down germinated. Existing grass came back nicely though. I’m in southern WI and we haven’t had rain in weeks.
Same spot and basically been watering since the 30th. With seed if you're not able to water the area at least 3 times a day you're going to struggle, unfortunately.
@@JasonSeiberlich I’ve been watering once a day in the mornings mostly but giving it a good amount. I’m probably going to seed the really bare spots again.
Under very rare conditions is watering only once a day going to work to be able to keep the ground wet without flooding the area. I'm a big proponent of one of those cheap Melnor or other brand sprinkler timers to assist with seeding.
This confirms my thought.. if you maintain your lawn to a high standard then it can withstand being neglected for a period of time. Do the best when you can, and if you can't.. then that's OK also. The grass will be fine!!
The lawn is holding up much better than i thought it would (I knew it would but it exceeded what i was expecting) Hopefully by the 4th of July youll be back out there in full force
Mixed feelings. It has rusted pretty badly, somewhat my own fault but also you gotta wash it so should be able to get wet. But it still works and its half the price of lesco or Spyker. Probably a better investment to spend more, but for what I needed when I needed it, it worked for me.
@@JasonSeiberlich That makes sense. The one I am picking up is an 11 blade. Your videos have been a great resource and probably the main reason I have a putting green in my back yard. Can't wait to have an actual greens mower.
Great update. Hopefully you'll be out there working on it soon. I'm a little north of you and this year has been crazy so far. I don't think I've ever seen heat stress in May before. Looking at the forecast we may go more than a month with no measurable rainfall. We'll get through it though.
@Jason Seiberlich I messed around and planted some cheap Penn cross bent in the easement behind my fence (400ish sq ft) since it was just a patch of weeds before and at 1/2 inch right now it's probably the nicest grass I have and it's not even technically mine lol. Granted I do baby it a little more but it's nothing too crazy. Only thing I'd worry about is not being able to use common herbicides on it.
Cheer up buddy! At least your lawn didn’t get DOMINATED by corn speedwell right out the gate haha. I think I got a grasp on it, but it was brutal. Hope you get well soon!

Hey! Thanks for the honest updates. Curious how you got rid of the worms? Haven't seen the product mentioned. Thanks! Get Well!
Shoot me a message somewhere.
good work brother.
Thank you.

Perfectly said. Thank you.

It looks significantly worse now than it did in this video. But should be able to start doing stuff here now again.
@Jason Seiberlich I hear you, been very dry as well. I've watered twice so far and my lawns holding up pretty well
Off topic, but I need a new spreader. Do you like the agri-fab?

That’s fair. Thanks for the info.
Hey Jason, I am picking up a Jacobsen 522a this weekend. Is there a reason why you dont use yours on the green? Do you still like it? Thanks
Still like it. Mine is an 8 blade. So not suited for cutting super short. It is my side yard mower and I still like it.

@@markmasterson2459 that's awesome. Best of luck. The Jac will be a game changer for you.

Yea it's been brutal. Finally started watering and going to continue to have to do that here.
Not even mad at the taller bentgrass here. Has me wondering how crazy it would be to just completely renovate my entire backyard with it 😂
Having the same thoughts. I honestly love it. Different color than traditional cool seasons in that it's a little more sea foam than forest green.

I'll cheer up once I can do stuff. But yes I am quite pleased that everything didn't go fully sideways.
