@@alienbydfault Plus I think that both Toothless and the light fury looked down while flying after they caught Astrid and Hicupp respectively was just their way of checking if they were alright/if they caught them the right way (dragon instincts are strong when hunting prey, but I like to thing that both dragons wanted to make sure that the humans were not upside down, comfortable or just really secure in their hold or something like that) but I also see them looking down as a way to say "hi there, I 've got you".
I still think it's weird how toothless acted in the 3rd film though, in the previous movies and the show toothless was fiercely loyal and protective not just to hiccup but to those he cared about, he wouldn't casually fly off with a female dragon he's known for less than a month

This raises a few possibilities, but the most plausible and generally accepted is that the Light Fury is a subspecies of the Night Fury. This is a classification under that of species, and means that they can still interbreed, as they are technically still the ‘same species’, with some key physical characteristics being different. I think she was just really shy when around humans because all the human interactions she had up to that point where bad. When with Toothless she seemed to be a little more relaxed.
I think she's just really misunderstood, there's a lot more to her character than meets the eye. The reason she tried to kill Hiccup and Astrid was because for her entire life, the only humans she had encountered had been evil ones who hunted dragons. So when she saw friendly humans, she just assumed they were evil. It wasn't until Hiccup showed her that there are good humans by sacrificing himself for Toothless that she changed her mind and warmed up to people. I'ma have to make a video on her all by itself cause she gets way too much hate in my opinion.

I actually think that from a scientific aspect, Toothless and the Light Fury are both of the same species but they are different genus’, like Grimmel said that he hunted every last NIGHT fury, and I think that one of two things happened. 1. The light fury species was created because while Grimmel was hunting NIGHT fury’s he was probably leaving LIGHT fury’s alone because he assumed they weren’t the same species and he was after Night Fury’s, not light fury’s. 2. Grimmel didn’t actually hunt the night fury’s to extinction, it was just believed that he had when in all actuality, they had left to the hidden words and their scales became more whiteish and they developed smoother features as they evolved to living in caves Both of these are very plausible scenarios, especially since we don’t really know how long the incubation period of a dragon egg is (all we’ve seen of it is in School of Dragons but the time period always changed and was inconsistent even with eggs of the same species of dragon) and for all we know, night fury’s are highly adaptive (supported by the fact that Night Fury’s don’t like the cold but toothless adapted to living on Berk where “It snows nine months out of the year and hails the other three”). Or if Gimmel did kill all the night fury’s, the Light fury genus could have started as a gene mutation (like how blue eyes started in humans) and over time, while Grimmel killed the night fury’s but left the light fury’s alone, they ended up loosing the night fury gene (which I’m guessing has something to do with Melanin) and they became their own distinct genus of Night Fury (but remained the same species) Sorry this is long but it’s kinda hard to put this into a tldr

He knows their habits and tendencies so I think it's very possible he knew how Toothless would react if he came into contact with a light fury. He knew Toothless would do questionable things like go off by himself to find her. He might have been planning on using that moment to strike when Toothless was on his own but as we saw things didn't go quite as planned

I wish they had went with finding a female Nightfury. To be honest, I think the choice of making the Lightfury was just to give them a more feminine look and a contrast to Toothless. I mean, sure, I get that. They needed them to look different. But making a female Nightfury look different from Toothless, would not have been that hard. Eye color and shape, different tails and wing shape and even slight changes to the face and the shade of black on their scales would have been enough! I HATE the Nightlights. There. I said it. They don't look good. And in the end. if they REALLY wanted a Lightfury, they could have made the fury's be kind of like ducks or something. Like how the male and female ducks look so different in color but are still the same species. And their offspring don't look like they got splattered with mitch match colors. Sorry for the rant. They could have either got rid of Grimmel as a character or maybe made him a hunter of rare dragons/dragons with rare conditions, so he was like chasing after the Albino NF until he discovered that in Berk they also have a normal one, so he wants to get both of them as trophies

This is a really stupid take. This movie is an absolute failure. Sure the animation is pretty, but nothing about it is good. The lightfurys design is completely sexist and extremely shallow. SHE LITERALLY HAS LOVE HEARTS ON HER HEAD. Toothless is NOTHING like he is in either previous movies, just like a giant stupid dog and a pet, opposed to being hiccups best friend. Think about everything toothless did for him in the first and second movie. Even the second movie is dumb, making toothless magically a glowing super alpha dragon and giving him more powers, when what he was supposed to be and was in the first movie was a fast, agile, and very intelligent dragon. He struggled against the monstrous nightmare protecting hiccup. They killed the green death together. The second movie is pretty good, but it already had some pretty telling signs of the failure the third was probably going to be. Astrid is a total asshole to hiccup through most of the movie, as are all of his friends. They make the twins seem like TOTAL idiots, especially ruffnut, which she is not. She uses her annoyingness to her advantage multiple times before the third movie and now for some reason we are supposed to believe she’s just this stupid, unaware, completely different character now? And what’s up with snotlout hitting on hiccups mom?? AND VALKA ACTUALLY PLAYING INTO IT BY THE END OF THE FILM. Gross. All the characters are smooth and plastic too, toothless looks like a toy, hiccup has no freckles, Astrid is perfectly clean and extra curvy, there’s so much wrong with this movie, and I wish we got the ending to this series that we deserved. It’s absurd that out of everyone, VALKA recommended that the dragons leave. It’s absurd that everyone else in the movie was so fine with all the dragons leaving, how did not one single Viking or dragon have an objection and want to stay? What about all the dragons that can’t survive in the hidden world, like snow wraiths for example? There’s so many dragons with specific habitats or diets. And why was everyone so nonchalant and understanding about toothless leaving with the light fury, the fact toothless would abandon hiccup for a dragon he doesn’t even know who tried to kill hiccup more than once makes no sense, not to mention how disrespectful toothless is to hiccup throughout the movie, and showing no interest in his map for example like he did in the previous movie. I could go on and on and on, but I think you get my point if you’re still reading this by now. This movie is such a gigantic disappointment to me :(

Anyone thought about the similarities betweent these 4? Hiccup has green eyes and so does toothless hiccup has dark hair and toothless' has dark scales they are both male. @@umbsol5053 Maybe it was part of Grimmel's plan. He has lots of experience with Night furies since he's hunted most of them down. He knows their habits and tendencies so I think it's very possible he knew how Toothless would react if he came into contact with a light fury. He knew Toothless would do questionable things like go off by himself to find her. He might have been planning on using that moment to strike when Toothless was on his own but as we saw things didn't go quite as planned

It's just reverse. Instead of hating the black one, they hate the white one. I know why they hate the light fury, its because she made Toothless and Hiccup part away, but remember that Grimmel did the most of work. If you switch the species of Luna to Night Fury, would it make a difference? Yes, because it's night fury, they won't hate the Luna, but they would hate Grimmel instead🌚

To be honest, I think the choice of making the Lightfury was just to give them a more feminine look and a contrast to Toothless. I mean, sure, I get that. They needed them to look different. But making a female Nightfury look different from Toothless, would not have been that hard.
Eye color and shape, different tails and wing shape and even slight changes to the face and the shade of black on their scales would have been enough!

@@dogmadismantled they could have still made her an albino/leucistic so they could have continued the theme of living with disabilities since albinos sometimes have problems with eyesight and skin sensitivity, they could have bonded with affection towards eachother and acceptance of eachother's issues, instead of having the Lightfury ignoring Toothless until he got rid of his disability.
They could have either got rid of Grimmel as a character or maybe made him a hunter of rare dragons/dragons with rare conditions, so he was like chasing after the Albino NF until he discovered that in Berk they also have a normal one, so he wants to get both of them as trophies

This is a really stupid take. This movie is an absolute failure. Sure the animation is pretty, but nothing about it is good.
The lightfurys design is completely sexist and extremely shallow. SHE LITERALLY HAS LOVE HEARTS ON HER HEAD. Toothless is NOTHING like he is in either previous movies, just like a giant stupid dog and a pet, opposed to being hiccups best friend. Think about everything toothless did for him in the first and second movie. Even the second movie is dumb, making toothless magically a glowing super alpha dragon and giving him more powers, when what he was supposed to be and was in the first movie was a fast, agile, and very intelligent dragon. He struggled against the monstrous nightmare protecting hiccup. They killed the green death together. The second movie is pretty good, but it already had some pretty telling signs of the failure the third was probably going to be. Astrid is a total asshole to hiccup through most of the movie, as are all of his friends. They make the twins seem like TOTAL idiots, especially ruffnut, which she is not. She uses her annoyingness to her advantage multiple times before the third movie and now for some reason we are supposed to believe she’s just this stupid, unaware, completely different character now? And what’s up with snotlout hitting on hiccups mom?? AND VALKA ACTUALLY PLAYING INTO IT BY THE END OF THE FILM. Gross. All the characters are smooth and plastic too, toothless looks like a toy, hiccup has no freckles, Astrid is perfectly clean and extra curvy, there’s so much wrong with this movie, and I wish we got the ending to this series that we deserved. It’s absurd that out of everyone, VALKA recommended that the dragons leave. It’s absurd that everyone else in the movie was so fine with all the dragons leaving, how did not one single Viking or dragon have an objection and want to stay? What about all the dragons that can’t survive in the hidden world, like snow wraiths for example? There’s so many dragons with specific habitats or diets. And why was everyone so nonchalant and understanding about toothless leaving with the light fury, the fact toothless would abandon hiccup for a dragon he doesn’t even know who tried to kill hiccup more than once makes no sense, not to mention how disrespectful toothless is to hiccup throughout the movie, and showing no interest in his map for example like he did in the previous movie. I could go on and on and on, but I think you get my point if you’re still reading this by now. This movie is such a gigantic disappointment to me :(

I will say it was way too rushed and fast paced, they needed to make it a little bit longer and pace it slower in my opinion. But I enjoyed the story line and movie as a whole overall

You can even watch the way toothless interacts from hiccup, to the light fury’s design being rooted in misogynistic concepts, to grimmel being a lesser threat than Drago Bludvist was and that was all it took to break Berk’s morale. It’s just inconsistent and clearly a cash grab
