hey nice video man! i just watched tenet movie and this in a way reminds me of it haha, so this might be off topic but im a new user to morphagene and seems that you have been working with it since a long time, so... how do you deal with the floor noise? mine is getting a lot of noise/white noise while recording. Tried adjusting the autogain level but no good results. Cheers from Mexico!
I want to make a whole video about this topic. First, check your firmware. If you're using the latest, the auto gain feature has been removed and changing the gain is set in four increments that you cycle through. The default setting (blue) is the lowest and is expecting something hotter(!) than a full scale modular signal. I can't imagine what that would be. The next setting, green, expects a modular-level signal. There are two settings of additional gain above that. Basically, anything going into the morphagene has to be very, very hot. This is exacerbated by the noise floor of the morphagene which, according to make noise, is -60dB, which is... not good. The noise is broadband, but also has some distinctive tonal spikes. I'm using 2x Morphagenes which makes all this twice as bad. For this video, which had to be post-processed anyway for the reversal effect, I ran it through Isotope RX Spectral De noise. The gain settings are my least favorite part of the morphagene. I would much prefer a gain knob and level meters. Level meters are not typically found on modules, but because the morphagene is not forgiving in this area, I would prefer to see and adjust where my levels are at, particularly in a live performance situation,
casual 2 morphagenes LOL
good vibes and very nice rack setup >>>
i also like that the sound is very dry , no effects to blur the piano sounds
