Big up RA --- this was a very special day - filming this at home, in room 2 of fabric - feeling very blessed. Djrum's first original music in over 6 years is out now - and it really was worth the wait! ... BIGGLES to Djrum, to RA, to the fabric family and to all the supporters out there :) ..... this is simply the beginning.....
Watched him doing his stuff at We Out Here from the side of the stage and was totally blown away. I knew he was good but DAYMN the guy is just absolutely cracked at DJing.
I've thought about the whole "using an ambient track as a bridge" thing before but like.....this is another level. It's really a whole performance in one little moment. Great stuff.
The best 22 mins I’ve spent on here for a while. Makes it look like it’s nothing. Inspiring and makes me want to jump on the 1210s and half attempt some of this stuff.
I saw him twice, both times at Waking Life. Seven years passed between my first listen to Djrum's music and experiencing his craft during a DJ set. I couldn’t have been more curious and excited the first time in 2022. Musically and sonically: a journey. Visually, too: a proper dance of that visible upper body-so focused, yet so relaxed, without batting an eye-while redefining your dancefloor experience. How could Djrum's set at Waking Life 2024 be even more special? It was, once again, truly unique because the man passionately draws you into the most tender parts of his collection, as well as the most feral. From no beats to 90, to 180, to 1000 bpm-mixed with brutal poetry. What a dancefloor journey, at times going beyond music itself. Merci, Felix!
Truly a master of the craft. I’ve listened to probably every released track, remix, recorded DJ set, stood beside him during a DJ set many years ago, and I’m still in awe and still can’t fathom how he does what he does.
I think this cat is my favourite person! A rare rare breed. I wish I could just chill out with ya. I look forward to anything this guy does. Pure gold!
I discovered a track by him on Spotify (Djrum - Tension) a few years ago and was completely blown away by the creativity in his productions! It's clear that this creativity also shines through in his DJing.
I LOVE BROTHER D'JRUMS STYLE OF MANIPULATING VINYLS ON HIS TURNTABLES INTO HIS OWN SOUND CREATIONS! THAT'S PURE ART AND SKILLS! THAT I NEVER EVER THOUGHT OF DOING ON MY TURNTABLES FOR 3 DECADES!
Mad skills - total respect. He's obviously put the hours in to get where he is today. There's a long list of hype DJs I'd love to see try some three deck vinyl mixing!
This is some James Zabiela wizardry. I love how he describes DJing as improvisational. The true art of DJing is finding the perfect groove. DJRUM makes this look easy, he just happens to be a master of the art.
@@LASHH9669 i know what you mean ~ i play vinyl too. i'm talking about like 2:29 or 12:20 where he is riding the trim to bring the track in / out. much more creative and dynamic use than basic gain staging and levels!
i just saw him play at garage noord b2b upsammy for 3.5 hours, where upsammy was handling 3 cdjs while he was running the 3 technics... it was just a marvel of engineering / layering. i have never seen anything like this set, and will not see it anytime soon. absolutely godlike.
This was super interesting and probably one of the best demos I've seen of this kind of stuff. Can't wait to try some of these techniques now. Gonna hook up my El Cap to one of my sends and returns and embrace my inner crab :) Also deffo gonna keep my eyes out for Djrum playing nearby. Think I'd totally nerd out seeing / hearing that live 🔥❤
Rotating analogue physical media… how old fashioned 😤 Who is this old man? Seriously though a Bangface highlight for me this year ❤ True artist of the wheels of steel.

fucking insanee dj, he makes such beautiful music too.. his song 'induction' will forever be a favorite I think me discovering his music led to also finding the artist Tkivilsaari its artists like this that truly inspire us through creativity and music... the type to listen to their sets and fucking transcend
I think I can tell without any exaggeration that Djrum is the most skilled DJ within the (Electronic) DJ circuit. I haven't seen anyone being this crazy good skilled, where his technics and dexterity come close to DMC participants. And to make it even more special, the beats he's playing are complex and never similar (I think I would have give him a little less credit if all of his music would have been 4/4 only). Like all this wouldn't be enough, he is also playing the piano and the flute. I don't understand... how can someone be so talented and skilled??
Man is a DJs' DJs' DJ. Thank you for always going the extra mile, true legend
your favorite DJ's DJ's... DJ!
I know nothing
The way he manipulated those vinyls though… it blew my mind
@@domenicoborissalvati4053 vinyl is singular
This might be my fav comment ive seen on youtube for a good while.
Your comment is disarmingly honest :))
i felt this

damn, the ambient-tempo-transition is genius. GENIUS.
I thought you were being sarcastic because 'ambient-tempo-transition' sounds very straightforward. Then I watched the video...
@@Wirba1337 The basic concept is very straightforward for people to do there own version of it. Djrum just does it his way lol which is like magic

Is djrum your dad?
@dengueberries no lol 😂 that would funny , calling out your father on a yt video 🤣

For the past decade I have forgotten that I love DJing. Thank you for reminding me. ❤
Every time i watch a video from Djrum, i always find music that is EXACTLY what i want to spin and create. Such amazing taste.

Nice

You think you're pretty decent on 1210s and then you watch something like this. Levels.
I'm playing vinyl since 2004 and I look like an idiot compared to him
I've been DJing DnB for 20+ years and only discovering this man now 😢 Very sweet skills on show
nothing is as beautiful as music
from vinyl records \••/ .
even the music's not mine,
this dj's performance
is real artwork.
respect.
i had no idea he was doing 3 deck vinyl when i saw him play i just thought he had absurdly wild tunes
I had no idea Djrum was this inspirational as a DJ, thought it was just his productions that were unreal. Fair do's man
big big inspiration!! had the pleasure to setup his decks and soundcheck with this guy, left me speechless
Been loving this guy's stuff since 2013. Legit.
Incredible. So tactile and unafraid -- very inspiring to watch and listen. Not to mention the 3 finger crab move!! Thank you!
He’s playing in London at Pickle Factory at the end of the month. Don’t miss him! I have seen him and he’s amazing.

Discovered him at Making Time in Philly a few months ago. His set really blew me away, probably up there as the best of the night. Real skills here
100% agreed, that shit was awesome. Threw me straight into a jungle phase
Yeah. That Making Time set was the highlight of MT for me.

one of the coolest things i’ve ever watched
When I was watching the final transition of the video out of the Aphex Twin track. My mouth was actually agape :D Inspirational moves.
I think Djrum may be my favourite dj at the moment.
His Philly Making Time set was incredible.
Djrum is one of the best to ever do it.

Synkro - Look at yourself (DJRUM Remix) still one of the best tracks ever

Largely a reality of vinyl, things are pressed to very different volume levels especially when you're mixing up genres and eras
