    I like all B&N editions of Dracula.

    The Canterbury Classics are a good too. I have several of those and they are design just like the Barnes and Noble leather bound books.

    I very much appreciate that you went in depth on the paperbacks, I wasn’t sure if they just cheated out and made regular paperback or if it was a flexible leather cover. Definitely gonna start adding these to my current set.

      I hope you’ll never discover Easton press, folio society, Franklin library or castalia leather subscriptions. You are already happy, no need to spoil it. 😁👋

      @GazmendCeno ha! I have several from the series you mentioned and others. When I’m rich and famous I’ll consider collecting something with a higher price point. An advantage of these is that I don’t feel bad actually reading from them!

    I collect copies of Wuthering Heights and this version is definitely my favorite to actually read. I love how the cover is sort of in between a hard back and a paperback

      It's a cool idea to collect copies of a specific work! I don't know if I dare let myself, though. It would be difficult to choose and we'd end up with a "Here's my Jane Eyre, here's my My Antonia, here's my Lord of the Rings," etc. situation. 😆

    I buy the Canterbury Classics leather bound books, because they're cheaper in Canada than the Barnes and Noble leather bound books. CC go anywhere from $15-$39(CDN) versus B&N prices $35-$70(CDN).

    Hi Anjanette, Thanks for the great video! I too am a collector of these Barnes & Noble collectable editions. I just wanted to answer your question about the book sizes. The smaller editions are children's editions and tend to be a bit more colorful than the larger sized editioned aimed at the older reader. Like you I love them all and get any I can get my hands on.

      Thanks for the comment. After recording this I saw another video that said the same. I don't know why I didn't make the connection, but probably because I read children's literature plenty even as an adult. 💗

    I don’t collect any books, in fact I barely own any books! I should do a video about why that is....
    Also though, you’re from Juneau! I was born and raised in the Mat-Su Valley. My grandparents were some of the original homesteaders. Even though I no longer live there, I still consider myself an Alaskan at heart.

      Wow! What a cool family history. I'm sure there are lots of stories there! Definitely make a video about how you read! Lots of people would appreciate that. We were very much the same - even though my husband is a librarian - for the first ten years of marriage! Library and borrowing from friends, and then ebooks eventually.

    • @BookBarrista

      Most hardcover books just have a thick paper-based cover, but bonded leather is the nice fancy version. The ones in this video are bonded leather.

    Excellent review. I only recently came across these B&N editions because I was looking to get a new copy of Dune. Now I have a great idea of what to expect from these editions. I will likely be picking up the Leather-bound Constitution. The flexibound are interesting and I will need to go to a B&N store to check them out.

    • @BookBarrista
      @BookBarrista  2 роки тому +2

      Dune was on my list, for sure! It was sold out last I looked. I ended up just getting a paperback for my son, who then loaned it to friends and I haven’t seen it again, so probably for the best. :)

      @@BookBarrista Yeah, definitely for the best. Hopefully it will still get some use.
      Although I found a different copy of Dune, these B&N collections are cool and there are a good variety of them. Again, this video helped a lot at understanding the nuances of these printings.

    Please can you advise, does your Grimm's Fairy Tales saying it is 'Manufactured in China' or 'Manufactured in India' on the first inside page with all the book info? The reason being, I'm trying to get hold of a copy of this book and whilst it seems easy to do so, the quality of the ones I am receiving from online seems to be worse than what I have seen of other Barnes & Noble Leatherbound classics I have, and including in your video here. For example, some of the gold and silver decorative foiling is dull or smudged and not of a very good standard. What I have noticed after doing some digging is it seems to be that the ones that say 'manufactured in China' are of a better quality than the ones that say 'manufactured in India'. Any help appreciated!!

    I just got the wuthering heights one and I hated the sticker on the front saying "barnes and nobles exclusive" thingy to which I removed,it got off easily however the sticker did took some of the gold printing from the word "brontë" so the letter B is just a half B and the R is somwhat fading between green and gold,the N and E has green spots and the letter T is barely noticeable 😭😭 I dont it hate but I dont necessarily love it. I think I'll leave it as is. But do you have any tips?

    • @BookBarrista
      @BookBarrista  3 роки тому +1

      That's a bummer! Wear doesn't bother me to an extent. I think most books gets worn if you actually read them. But I hear you about it being right on the cover! I think you could give feedback to Barnes and Noble through online customer support if you wanted. It wouldn't surprise me if they offered a replacement or at least advice for sticker removal next time.
      My other thought is a small brush and a couple of pots of nice paint could be a fun fix!

    • @Bee-zi6ne
      @Bee-zi6ne 3 роки тому

      @@BookBarrista Ah yess I'm pretty sure this will get worn down (its my favorite book of all time 😅) and I bought it up with costumer service but I don't think a replacement would be possible (I really hope they do something about the sticke replacement). I actually had a friend of mine buy it from their store and have it ship all the way to the Philippines (as b&n doesnt ship here) which took 2 about months. I just hope they stop with the putting the sticker directly on the books. 😩😩
      oooh thats a good idea!!! I'll definitely put that in mind. Weigh my options and possible outcomes. Thank you. 🤍

    It's rather surprising that a young woman would have a work by Robert Louis Stevenson in her collection. Girls generally find his works boring. Most of his works, including Treasure Island, Kidnapped, The Master of Ballantrae etc., appeal mostly to schoolboys. Other than that, loved the collection and those books look lovely.
