    Suggestion: pre-cut lengths of line with knot at end (heat with flame to "set" knot); insert from inside spool ; cut "slice of pool noodle to stop line from falling out of spool when stopped (centrifugal force will keep it in place when running).

    One can also increase the line thickness to keep the string lasting longer using heat will make the ties a lot simpler, as in they won't back out

    That is such a cool idea,I have a weedeater I bought from Walmart 2 years ago,it was designed to be bump feed,the part to fix it has to be ordered,but it works fine.I just pull out what I need,and it lasts for awhile.My nephew has a lawn mowing business and I was helping him out today,the twine got caught up inside and wouldn't feed,he basically throws a 200 dollar trimmer down the hill.So your video made my day.Did I hear some one say daddy stop?

This video should have thousands of likes, maybe alot of people aren't doing thier own lawns or they have professional quality trimmers but these things can drive you crazy if your like me (trying to get it done quickly while wearing a mask cause I'm allergic to grass and it's 100 degrees) between the string coming off the spool and unwinding more string constantly ugh. Good idea. I have never been a fan of 2 stroke motors, I always thought they were a necessary evil. I bought a Kobalt 40 volt trimmer with an extra battery in 04. I have a 3 acre yard with 17 trees. I can trim my yard and trees on 1 battery. I have a 10 acre run of fence along the county road I use to trim around once a year. In tall grass the battery would run down in 1-1/2 hours. I bought a fence mower for my tractor to cut the fence line. I'm 72 and getting lazy. Run your 2 stroke until it gives up they try a Battery powered trimmer. Mine works very well.

      I must have the wrong kind of battery trimmer. I have 2 batteries, fully charged each might last 10 minutes top, and it barely cuts anything but grass. Thick stalks on weeds and vine like grass takes forever to cut and makes the batteries die even faster. I weed eat less than 3/4 of an acre and it takes all week to get the whole yard done with about 6 charges on each battery. by the time I finish it’s time to start again.

    Great idea!!!!!! So you could sit for a minute and cut 10 or so string replacements and be ready ... my question is the holes on the sides of the string housing big enough for multi strands of string if so could you use more than one to strengthen the string and make it last longer????? or drill two more holes at 90 degree angles and have 4?????? I believe the string strength to be less now because when I started the string would allow me all most one whole weed wacking before I had to refill?? but not now!!!!!!!

    I have a TB22EC which also is real cheap, the string kept feeding out and I bought a replacement string head from Amazon that takes cut pieces of line and it was priced around 15 bucks. Needs a little bit more fuel on the high speed jet back out the high speed screw marked H just slightly and slowly on the carburetor until it seems more stable and revs without hesitation from idle. It will have good power and will be ready to go as soon as it starts on run. Look up Steve's small engine saloon. He is a wizard when it comes to small two and four stroke engines.

    Only problem with this hack is you could ruin the thread on the bolt if you hit something solid or even bend it being exposed like that which could render it useless unless rethreaded should you get a new spool for around $20

    The fuel mixture is better at 70% premium gas and 30% two stoke oil. Learned this from model airplane guys who use same motors for the bigger planes. Also a lot of these small engines are set at sea level so when you live at higher altitudes across the country they need to be reset. The adjusting tool for the carburetor is available on Amazon. Just take off the seal some manufacturers put over the mixture adjustment screws and high and low idle. Some days mine won’t start for the life of me others days you just look at it and it goes ☹️

    Cannot understand why a lot of people weedeat or weedwhack their edges after mowing. More logical to use the mower to pick up the clippings with a catcher after weedeating is done. Seen 1 guy doing a free lawn mowing job as a good will gesture for a lady that need help and for his utube channel. He could have taken at least 30 minutes of his time if he had simply done what I just described above. No need to create more work ... just need to work smarter.

    What's a string hack? It's to cut the grass not hack it.
    Shaft. Good idea! but married, not a good idea. I was divorced and then remarried, dumbest thing I've done. dumb, dumb, dumb.

    • @maritimegardening4887
      @maritimegardening4887  6 років тому +2

      "Hack" means easy solution. It's a slang term among the younger folk :) Re the marriage advice - I've been divorced too - that sucked, but the dumb part of the decision was my selection criteria, not the institution of marriage. I learned from the divorce, and looked for someone that is compatible for me. Step one in the process was figuring out who I am, and what I consider a good life. That took a few years. Step two was finding someone who had similar morals and lifestyle preferences.

    I can't stand it when people say weed whacker. Good god it's such a northern saying. People in the south call it a weed eater. Just like people from the north say stuff like Kudos to you. It's so annoying! People from the north think they talk and sound so much more intelligent. Let's have a civil war again and y'all will find out who's more intelligent.

    • @maritimegardening4887
      @maritimegardening4887  2 роки тому

      Since it's not eating the weeds, "weed eater" makes no sense. I suppose "weed cutter" or "weed slicer" would be best - but at least "weed wacker" gives a more accurate description of what the machine actually does. For what it's worth - I don't say "Kudos" at all. Also - which "North" are you talking about? Alaskans? Maine? Minnesota? North Dakota? Canada? Nunavut? Greenland? Finland? North of what?
