  • Welcome to the First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow.
The powwow is a time for celebrating First Nations culture, languages and the spirit of dancing and singing.
The annual First Nations University of Canada Powwow is one of the most significant cultural events in the province. Celebrating its 42rd anniversary, it is one of the largest powwows in Western Canada and sees over 8,000 spectators and participants each year.
The family-friendly event bridges Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures. Everyone is welcome.
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, which acknowledges the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Throughout June, National Indigenous History Month is observed. This is a special time for all Canadians to reflect on the history and sacrifices, wisdom and traditions, and meaningful contributions of Canada’s first peoples.
