    Those kind of hills take a lot out of man and machine! I’m impressed how it fired right up while hot.

    What a ride!
    I was so happy to see the Sherco reach the summit
    I have the same model and I am so happy with it
    I find the soft map so much better in the tight single trails
    The view at the top was nearly as good as the Sherco itself 😂
    Cheers

    Hard to tell how steep it was until that root tipped you over! We don't have any hills close to that height here in the northeast. I'd have a hard time finding the self control to take a break to keep the bike from overheating like you did. Very nicely done!

    Thanks Greg. loved the scenery. That bike seemed to be a lot harder to ride than your 300 2 stroke

      The suspension is way to stiff for me, I think that's a big part of it. I have just sent the forks out for revalve.

    @racesla Рік тому

    Agree with you on the suspension, sent mine out to the Ride Shop for Jonny to work his magic, much much better in the nasty rocky, rooty terrain. Bike was a defection monster with the stock suspension. I'm running a 50T sprocket on the rear of my SEF, really helped in the steep tertian. Thanks cheers.

      That’s good to hear it’s not just me. My last ride on it the bike kicked my ass on some more difficult terrain, it was all over the place. Not happy with having to spend more money on suspension since my 2021 300se is good for me in stock form but it’s definitely needed on this one.

      @@PNWEnduro Glad but not glad that you are experiencing some of what I was describing in my comment to you on the last video, I just couldn't get the suspension to feel great (especially the rear shock) - although I think I have got it to a much better spot now with the clickers.
      I had mine out climbing some very similar hills in WA 2 weeks back and have the same summary - not a great hill climber. Might also add a tooth on the back like Howard says he did to give it a bit more kick. Although I really don't want to drop the top end speed or tighten up the gear spacing

      @@PNWEnduro Stock KYB on both 300 2t and 4t is not that good. You may think so until you have it revalved/sprung. I'm telling you, you are leaving 40% of performance gain on the table. Have done both (I'm 175 geared up) and absolute game changer on both. KYB is a great platform but Tech Touch valving is not that good once into midstroke.

      @racesla Рік тому

      @@mack73 The 50t is a big improvement for the hills and single track in general on this bike, but it does cut into the top end significantly. The 49t may be the way to go. James at inside Endure sent me a 52t after he told me that's what he runs for single track and hard enduro on his 300. Haven't tried it yet, probably tops out at 30 mph with that on lol.

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Рік тому

      @sfade my 2021 stock suspension is better than both of the last two KTM's that had full re-valve so I'm disappointed the 23 is not as good. I'll be finding out how good they are after the valving soon, on the forks at least. I agree the midstroke is where it's lacking.

    IMO, you need to rev that 300 four stroke a lot higher. She has a 13k limiter, use it:)

    I dunno dude. One thing is the "feel" but another is the actual time. I think I observed very smooth tractable power. A couple months ago I had an experienced ride describe my run up Karma as the "smoothest" of the group. I didnt feel that way at the time but I would be very interested to see side by side footage. It might be that you feel the 2T was easier cause it took a little more body energy but your 4T time was faster. Could be! Good ride.

      @@thesmoness 2 weeks ago riding similar terrain. Had a guy ride back to back on a steep hill like this - my '22 300 SEF was much harder for him than a '22 husky 300 TPI. Both were not his bike, so he didn't have much seat time on either which could sway it. It was as scientific as we could get.

    When I had that bike, it used to feel like it was pulling the heck out of my arms climbing things like that... no amount of squeezing with legs and trying to position myself correctly seemed to cure it... it just wants to pull!

    I noticed you kept the revs up out of the basement. Will the Sherco climb if you were just barely off idle or does it need some revs?
    Also, i noticed you shook your throttle hand at one point. Do you get numbers in your throttle hand? I do periodically and can never really put a finger on the cause. Even when I'm very focused on elbows up and not gripping tight I can get it from time to time.

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Рік тому +1

      Yes I find it needs some revs on this climb, more to keep momentum as several spots if you stop you will not be able to get going again. Just a bit of arm pump, the forks are way too stiff for me on this bike so I'm really struggling on more rocky/rooty terrain. Sending the forks our for revalve next week. Kind of a bummer as the 300SE suspension is stock other than a change in oil volume and I'm happy with it.
