Please do more of this, it can seem silly for people to see it in Minecraft... But it's an easy quick way to build something showing very clear explanations. Any person looking to buy a house should have this knowledge. We got our first house and the inspection showed nothing. The roof was not inspected, and had leaking verges. Bathroom that had to be ripped out due to water leaking and black mold.... You only find these things when it's too late. So bringing awareness is great.

you dont think scale seems to matter when it comes to giving a picture of whats going on. also he demonstrates water ingress in a roofless house. hows about showing us how it properly functions. this person makes it look like if the roof was sealed then the cavatity tray wouldnt be needed. thats why its a poor explination @@Rupis94

Years back I was working on a thatched property, I also live in one. They had just purchased it and the house had been inspected before purchase. Not much to discuss except I thought to myself, christ the thatch is a mess, but none of my business to comment on at the time. Went back for another job a few weeks later sealing up an old well. I asked how things were going and they said not that great as they need £40k for a full re-thatch. I mentioned the inspection and nope, no mention of it. Great inspector.

It’d be good if you could explain why weep holes started becoming a thing for new builds so it can be used to explain to folk why weep holes started being used in cavities when they were fine before with smaller cavities, that sort of thing.
The bricklayers think they’re pointless and say “I’ve never seen water coming out a cavity like a drainpipe” as if that’s a reasonable argument haha.

The inner and outer walls of our long row of semi-detached houses were replaced about 20 years ago due to rotted ties. Our walls, and those of our attached neighbour's walls, have "vents" (missing mortar between adjoining bricks) 4 courses above the top of the downstairs windows, spaced every 4 bricks around the entire exterior wall. They are also in the course directly above the upstairs windows, also spaced every 4 bricks. But the semi-detached houses either side of our do not have any at all, and would have been rebuilt during the same period. I questioned this, and was told it was "down to the brikkie doing the job".

You would have had a field day inspecting our last home. It was a council place, but 3 years of reporting water marked walls, and being told its condesation (it wasnt) the few spells of -7 last winter (previous 2 winters had been mild) finally was the last nail in the coffin. The whole bathroom ceiling came down, 1/2 of the kitchen ceiling below came down. Parts of my daughters room and the lounge came down. The external brickwork around the back door and kitchen window could be pulled out with 0 resistance. The frame and seal round the bathroom window came away and if the rain came at a certain way it would rain on you! The loft insulation was mouldy as rotten. And sooooooooooo much more. Worst thing is, a "surveyor" from the housing association we rent from, came out the day before all this happened and his exact words were it's absolutely fine, nothing to worry about. Just condensation. It wasn't condensation 😆 but yea, I'd have loved for you guys to have looked it over 😆
