Thank you so much for this explanation. I’ve always wondered what you meant by “fake weep vents” and now I understand. I no longer feel like a “tuna melt”.
Thank you very much 😊
Yeah same.
Are you a wood butcher though??
You're obviously just a winkle spanner!! 😂
Please do more of this, it can seem silly for people to see it in Minecraft... But it's an easy quick way to build something showing very clear explanations. Any person looking to buy a house should have this knowledge. We got our first house and the inspection showed nothing. The roof was not inspected, and had leaking verges. Bathroom that had to be ripped out due to water leaking and black mold.... You only find these things when it's too late. So bringing awareness is great.
but your wrong mate. scale matters
@@lewischatburn7899 I guess I am in an imaginary world where I said scale doesn't matter....?
you dont think scale seems to matter when it comes to giving a picture of whats going on. also he demonstrates water ingress in a roofless house. hows about showing us how it properly functions. this person makes it look like if the roof was sealed then the cavatity tray wouldnt be needed. thats why its a poor explination @@Rupis94
I'm sorry to hear about the problems you had mate, hope your house is running well now and your pockets aren't too dry
Years back I was working on a thatched property, I also live in one. They had just purchased it and the house had been inspected before purchase. Not much to discuss except I thought to myself, christ the thatch is a mess, but none of my business to comment on at the time. Went back for another job a few weeks later sealing up an old well. I asked how things were going and they said not that great as they need £40k for a full re-thatch. I mentioned the inspection and nope, no mention of it. Great inspector.
This is actually a very informative way of educating about housing to someone who has 0 knowledge
Exactly the point! Thank you
I can’t quite explain how much I love that this is done in Minecraft 🤣
Wow what an incredible way to teach and explain. Love this channel. X
Thank you very much ❤
As someone who just casually came across your Shorts here on YT (and someone who hasn't the first clue about housebuilding, so much so that I actually thought you were saying weave vents before), this was one of the most informative videos you could have done to explain what *weep* vents are. Thank you
Thank You! I'm glad it worked!
As a 30 year veteran 3D animator I have to say thats a genius use of Mine Craft!
I know 🤣🤣
Nice to see the face behind the voice, and a nice explanation with Minecraft too! Genius :)
Amazing tutorial, you need to use that as a teaching aid, so all these tuna melts fully understand the correct installation of trays and vents!
Thank you very much 😊
Orlando that was a fantastic explanation of cavity tray and weep vents. Great work.
Could you also do one for air vents at ground level that the Tuna melts keep covering up?
The dimensions aren't to scale
They allow air through both skins and into where there is a suspended floor to vent the space under the floor.
Spot on mate your a good honest man 👍🏼 no corners cut whatsoever when your around
Thank you very much 😊
Haha what a great idea to teach about it
Thank you 😊
You, sir, are an absolute star the way you explained this.
Thank you very much 😊
Welcome new home quality control to this new season of hermitcraft. Can’t wait to watch your antics with mumbo, grian and scar
A proper builder / inspector and a legend at Minecraft! What a hero! Rrrrudicalus!
Purely from the perspective of appreciating a good bit of L&D, this was a fantastic piece that has been very well executed! It takes real skill to be able to facilitate that volume of understanding increase in such a short amount of time, so bloody good work!
Never worked in construction, but seen your shorts a few times and found them interesting. I roughly figured out what weep vents are for from context, but this was a really good explanation!
Such a simple way of explaining it and making it incredibly clear how and why they are important. Nice one
Awesome visuals, great explaination!
Using minecraft potentially helping you reach some younger folks who may not be exposed to this otherwise. I hope you're inspiring many!
Great presentation idea.👍👍
A proper builder / inspector and a legend a Minecraft! What a hero! Rrrrudicalus!
More of these please! Very informative! Great channel.
Thank you very much 😊
You should come into building surveying uni classes with these 21st century version teachings! We all got taught like we were in the 1960s. GREAT CONTENT :D
Amazing explanation and no apocalypse finish in sight! Love your videos, so funny 👏
Thank you 😊
This should be mandatory viewing in the "How to Brick" training course.
Really great way of explaining how they work. Excellent!
Thank you very much 😊
Such a great way to explain. Really easy to understand
I didnt know that I needed this content until now. Thankyou
This is bloody excellent! Bravo on a simple and easy to understand explanation :)
Really helpful to visualize it, damn all those tuna melts!!
Absolutely stunning. We’ll done Minecraft Homes! 😀
😊😊😊
Absolutely fantastic!
This is as educational as it is creative!
Very cleverly explained 🤘🏼
I'm loving the professional level cad tool you're using! ;p
what a good way teaching people
Really helpful explanation! Thanks!
Our generation is not screwed, this is good stuff!
Please do more like these, they are very educational 😀
Love this guy! Very funny! Carry on calling out all the dodgy builders out!
Thank you 😊😊😊
That’s Litterally incredible! Thank you
Absolutely need more of these styles of explanation. Cracking job !!
Thank you very much 😊
@@newhomequalitycontrol you're welcome mate, I'm looking to buy soonish and you're videos have been a beacon of knowledge on what to keep an eye on.
Hi NHQC, Thanks so much for making this, cheers
Thank you very much 😊
What a great explanation. I think this is the first time Minecraft has made sense to me 🤣
Lintle sits on he brickwork and block work. Then the damp sits on the lintle and forms a tray..every 450mm should have a weep hole..eg every 2 bricks..
Orlando how do cavity trays work when you have cavity wall insulation retro-fitted? And should you assume wherever there is a weep vent there is a tray i.e. it’s standard practice to fit a cavity tray above every window and door / opening? Thanks
Doing this in Minecraft was genius! I knew how weep vents worked before this video, but when I saw them in use on this model, part of my brain lit up. Good teaching is so important.
You’re doing the world a service in a fight against cowboy builders ripping people off.
Never expected to see a Minecraft video here, but an excellent video!
Thank you very much 😊
@@newhomequalitycontrol Thank you for all your content, if I'm ever in a position to buy a new home, I'll definitely be calling you guys, absolutely shocking what they get away with! 😉
It’d be good if you could explain why weep holes started becoming a thing for new builds so it can be used to explain to folk why weep holes started being used in cavities when they were fine before with smaller cavities, that sort of thing.
The bricklayers think they’re pointless and say “I’ve never seen water coming out a cavity like a drainpipe” as if that’s a reasonable argument haha.
Could you explain why? Genuine question.. I thought cavities were supposed to be ventilated into the roof space
Brilliant, just brilliant
Tripping rn loved the video
thats a brilliant way of explaining it. super clever haha
Amazing, I love watching your videos, that's clever using Minecraft. You did it like a pro. It is so easy to follow.
Love it ❤
Thank you for not only explaining weep vents but also doing it in a way I understand
I've always wondered and this was top quality meme explaining. Cheers mate ❤
I love minecraft and this channel. It's a win win situation for me. 👍🏿
Brilliant idea
Thank you 😊
Good Job!
That is so good!😂😂😂 maybe all the apprentice brickies should pass this minecraft inspired test.
Yeah! Thank you 😊
This was great!
Thank you 😊
I was looking for a video explaining weep vents this was great
What an awesome way of explaining something I didn't know that I didn't know, and that I don't need to know (I have no connection to the building trade, apart from living in a house). I watched to the end because it was so brilliantly explained for a dummy like me. Love your videos. If I ever buy a new build (unlikely) I'd be privileged to have you inspect it.
Bravo brother ✌️
I work for a housing association, you've really helped with defect property enquiries.
Also, great idea using Minecraft.
This is fantastic
Thank you
Thank you so much
love how you used minecraft 😂👌good effort 👍 sure the yeeehaaa cowboys will understand now 👍
Great. Next week can you do Quantum Physics.👍
Epic!
LMFAO 😂 nice simple way to explain this.
Very good explanation
Thank you very much 😊
I did construction studies in school and this is a much better explanation than anything I got 😂
Thank you very much 😊
You're welcome pal.. love your content. I'm currently in the process of looking for a mortgage and the amount of things on a new build I know to check for thanks to you is unreal. Please keep it up.
love this
😮 you're brilliant
This is gold 😆🤣🤣🤣👌🏼
For months I thought they were called weed vents 😂 Great explanation though! I always see so many people in the comments who aren’t sure what they were either
Thank you
Perfect way of explaining it!! Minecraft 😂
It really is. Thank you very much 😊😊
@@newhomequalitycontrol I thought my new build was bad when I bought it. Mine hasn’t got a patch on some of the ones that you look at sweet Jesus Christ.
In a block of apartments, the plumbers didn’t even bother solvent seal in the soil stacks in bathrooms. Imagine bath water, toilet, sewerage and shower water leaking out into the bathroom. And to top it off the waste pipe connecting to the soil stack was going uphill. 😂 turds don’t go uphill 😂
That was bloody brilliant mate..Im wee bit ole school an don't Roblox😂...me grans do tho....just brilliant mate!!
Mad Minecraft skills
Didn't know you were changing your channel from quality inspection to a Minecraft gaming channel but there we go XD
Were going after the Endo dragon next week! Then jumping into some resident evil 😂😂
The inner and outer walls of our long row of semi-detached houses were replaced about 20 years ago due to rotted ties. Our walls, and those of our attached neighbour's walls, have "vents" (missing mortar between adjoining bricks) 4 courses above the top of the downstairs windows, spaced every 4 bricks around the entire exterior wall. They are also in the course directly above the upstairs windows, also spaced every 4 bricks. But the semi-detached houses either side of our do not have any at all, and would have been rebuilt during the same period. I questioned this, and was told it was "down to the brikkie doing the job".
Thank you for this video, I had no clue what they were for. I thought they were for ventilation and drying the inside of the bricks lol
Legend.
This is the longest I've ever watched Minecraft. 😅 Nice explanation.
He took: “Explain in Minecraft terms” literally
Jokes aside it was actually a really good way to explain it
😂bloody fabulous way of explaining weep vents using Minecraft.😂. Why not? If you have the tools at hand, why not use them?😂
Superb 😂
Bloody legend.
I’m 40 and I have the brain of a 6 year old.
This now makes sense!
You would have had a field day inspecting our last home. It was a council place, but 3 years of reporting water marked walls, and being told its condesation (it wasnt) the few spells of -7 last winter (previous 2 winters had been mild) finally was the last nail in the coffin. The whole bathroom ceiling came down, 1/2 of the kitchen ceiling below came down. Parts of my daughters room and the lounge came down. The external brickwork around the back door and kitchen window could be pulled out with 0 resistance. The frame and seal round the bathroom window came away and if the rain came at a certain way it would rain on you! The loft insulation was mouldy as rotten. And sooooooooooo much more. Worst thing is, a "surveyor" from the housing association we rent from, came out the day before all this happened and his exact words were it's absolutely fine, nothing to worry about. Just condensation. It wasn't condensation 😆 but yea, I'd have loved for you guys to have looked it over 😆
This video made me weep lol
Good video, informative, I’d definitely have you guys out to check a home I was going to buy,
Thank you very much 😊
Atlast, an educational medium I can really get behind..
But, my man, we really need to work on your wasd skills ;)
I've hated fake Weep vents for a while now, but I've never really known why😂 now i know. So thanks.
Ha! That was ace! But why put in fake weep vents in the first place?
You're a genius 🤣🤣🤣🤣
When the fake cut down weep vents are found, do you have a method to check the collection tray is actually installed as well? Ones seems redundant without the other in the explanation 🤔
That's great but can it withstand a creeper explosion?
This video is genius.
Thanks 🧠
BTW, "Ridiculous" is now my phone's notification sound!🥰
How do i defeat Endo man ?
