Who else was listening to this in 1977 and is still listening in 2024!
Absolutely
I was 10.
Lost my virginity to this. Lol
I WAS 19 IN 77
Same
Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame at last!!! Congratulations Foreigner!!! ❤
Really, well overdue, but fashionable late always is the thing to be, rock & roll man!
44 Years later and this song still KICKS ASS !!!
I watched the Eternals movie and it was like ho-hum, and then this EPIC song came on at the end of the movie! Now my thoughts of the movie changed for the better after hearing this song close out the movie!
Can’t say the same about Bon Jovi
Yes!!
Classics do not age !
@@aganzon2549 is
P ppl
Strange how a song and a voice can take you back to another lifetime. ❤
Seems like the first time 😂
Yes it does. I was in 8th grade when. It. And out and I heard it on the radio.
True
I am 2024 12am
You listening to this you my sister brother Mon and DAD..I love you
Congratulations to Foreigner on their much deserved induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Lou had the pipes
So crisp clean and clear
🎉 welcome to the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame
One of, if not, THE best voice in rock music
I’m 52 and raised on classic rock today’s rock don’t compare
Dude I'm 50 for 1 more week and this music was my childhood. Today's shit.... Is just that.
Congrats on the long overdue and the well deserved RRHOF inductions boys!
I was so blessed to have grown up in the 60's and 70's and not had to listen to the noise that is passed off as music today.
Starting with the New Miintinum the music can be described in one simple word"CRAP!"
@@user-vr4he8wj3m Did you mean to say 'Millennium', I have no idea what a 'Mintinum' is .😅😅😅
His vocals were unique and extraordinary. Perfect band. Perfect vocals. Perfect song.
I was thinking the same. Perhaps the perfect blend of British/American pop-rock. I’ve been listening to this A LOT!
Shirley you're kidding? Ha ha ,really this is they're best song I think.
Meeeee - still listening 😊
@@pb8601 After all, that's what they are.
Yeah he is vocals and voice is awesome all their songs are superb
The band that gave me the soundtrack of my youth. One hit after another after another. Man, what a run they had.
Yes indeed....
Yes
asweet!
Totally magic
It still feels like the first time listening to this song after so many years! ❤️
Met Lou twice in the summer of 2019 at classic cars shows and he is a great, respectful and kind fellow that had no problem chatting a bit and showing me one of his classic cars. Definitely a moment I will remember.
Classic cars means he's got a great personality.
WOW! How cool to have met him. ❤
@@susansquire7968 Coolest thing was I was only there because I was with my newly found biological dad (found after 49 yrs!). My dad was drumming in an older guy 50s/60s band there at the car show, so I got to explain to Lou the trip of finding my dad is a drummer like my son as well as my own guitar and bass practice! Genetics are cool!
40 years from now this song will still be great. It’s timeless.
Yes. It hasn't become dated now and won't 40 years from now.
Reminds me of my Guy! Miss you Babe 😢
Is any one still here in 2024😂
😊😊😊
Present and accounted for
YES AND GOUNG TO SEE THEM ONE LAST TIME THIS SUMMER!! ♥️♥️♥️
Every other day
🙋🏽♀️
Only Lou can make the tambourine look cool. Great voice that deserves more recognition.
He can make it look sexy
and Ian Astbury (The Cult)
One of my favorite voices of all time.
Logo like Castel del Monte,Mount's Castle,Andria,on italian 1 Eurocent.
Yup, the way he smacks it 💖
One of the greatest voices of all time thank you Lou Gramm
One of the most energetic tunes of all time
Foreigner was/is such an AWESOME BAND! Soooo many great songs over the years. And Lou Gramm is, without a doubt, one of the best lead singers of all time. What a voice!!!
40+ years later and I'm digging this tune just as much as i did back then. THAT, my friends, is timeless! :)
Me too!
Yes. I'm still hearing it just like the first time, the very first time
Believe that.....This quality song never gets old
K P Me too brother me too. For me there will only be one lead singer for Foreigner and his name is Lou Gramm. Who that other guy is I don't care.
Dude,it's 4 real!
RIP Ian McDonald (shown playing rhythm guitar & backing vocals) who passed away February 9, 2022. He was a co-founder of King Crimson & Foreigner and he was also a multi-instrumentalist: sax, flute, keyboard (mellotron esp.) and guitar.
Thank you even though it's sad. I was unaware of his passing.
💔♥️💔
Boston and FOREIGNER changed music for the youth .
They were absolutely sensational with Lou
Lou is the man.
They just don’t make music this awesome anymore.
Thats because today all people want is cardie beeeee
🎉😅😮😢 1:58
Nothing feels like the first time.
I don't think there is a better band that bridged the sound of the 70's and 80's so perfectly. It's time they are in The Hall.
Ever time I listen to this it FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME, EVERYTIME.
You said it Brother!
Agree 💯
Right now! March 11th, 2024 !! ❤
May 2024 and into ♾️
So so happy to find these old Foreigner video's !😭 😢 😭
Lou looks & sings just like I remembered. ❤
Love this song. Very special in 2023!
Unbelievable, They are not in The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!
Unreal! They deserve it!
they were good ol boys, good guys always finish last!
I was introduced to Foreigner along with all the other classic rock bands by my babysitter when I was 8 or 9 and she was 14 or so. Thank god for Chrissy! I have been drumming and loving music my whole life because she played her albums on my parents hi fi system! Yes, I said hi fi. Thank you Chrissy!!!
Unbelievable Lou Gramm didn't like I wanna know What Love is!! True story! listen to the interview with Mick Jones on the CBS interview. Mick Jones said nonetheless, he sung that song like an angel on that song.
Name a band any band that was better and had more hits! There are a few that could be argued but when this band started from 76-85 or so they were a good as ANY9NE!
Feels like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame got it right for the first time in along time!! Congrats Foreigner.
Love the synth in this one. 60s, 70s, and 80s is the perfect time for music.
Al Greenwood is very underrated.
🎉😮😢😅 2:15
Lou Gramm! A velvet haunting voice!❤️
Lou's got the Robert Plant vibe going on
Kind of more Roger Daltry with that tambourine
70s GIANTS
I believe Lou Gramm and Steve Perry are the two greatest vocalists of all time! Their Music says it all.
They are both good but Freddie Mercury is better.
Great singers, but they can't touch Dio
Absolutely true! I love them both ( Lou and Steve)
Add Bob Seger ,Micheal McDonald,Micheal Bolton,Van Morrison.... the LIST GOES ON!
We sure as hell know that Paul Stanley ain't in this conversation....
This song doesn't age, sensational production values also, took me straight back to my junior year 1977
I graduated in 1979
One of my and my hs boyfriend song. One of many but definitely one of the best!!!
🎉😅😮😢 2:06
Oh boy! At 64 this sure takes me back to some good times!
I am amazed that I have known this song for literally decades and have never seen this video. Excellent...thanks for posting.
JP Cantrell same here
Isn't it great to actually see what they looked like at that time live__🎶🎶🎶🎸😋😋 I mean it's phenomenal I love it too
@@peck404 I know...it's very interesting to see them young....huh? lol
First time for me seeing this video too!
Literally just thinking to myself - I'm 56 and grew up with them, HOW is this the first time I'm seeing this? It's freaking incredible and awesome!!
The real Foreigner!
I’ve been listening to Foreigner since 1977, but the 1st time I saw Lou Gramm look in the camera, I’ve been in love with him ever since!😊
🎉Me too
They deserve to be in the Hall of Fame . This is one of greatest bands in History ❤❤
One of the most beautiful love songs ever written
Bygone era, never to return.
damn I love Foreigner. Just does not. get. old.
RIP Ian McDonald the original saxophonist and keyboardist for Foreigner
I'm in my early 20s, and if I ever find that special someone in my life and we decide to get married, this song has to be played at our wedding.
Starting at 1:31, I love how the "ooooh" and "aaaah" background vocals gradually build to complement Gramm's intensity. The harmonizing is awesome as well.
An amazing song from a great band! Foreigner deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!
Oh yeah, this song is gonna have more views after people leave Eternals!!!! It is a marvelous song!
That ending made me excited for the sequel.
Crank it up and let the neighbors enjoy it too
1:48 -2:22 . Lou Gramm has an awesome voice, damn it's so good
It's my favourite part of the song - it's what got me hooked😁
🎉😅😮😢 2:23
In the car, cruising around Australia. Memories. Solid. Love it.
This song never gets old. Love it!
Feels like the first time
Great!
Hit machine of the late 70's early 80's. So many amazing songs!
I will get off in the 70s. 70s 4 me
Indeed, Their 1st 4 albums went 5+x platinum and their 5th, 3x platinum. 80 million to date.
MID 70s Didnt care for their 80s either, WAY more ROCK in the 70s LIKE THIS
Never get fed up hearing all foreigner songs never dated just the best brings back memories of when I was a teenager
Ahhhhh Lou!!! That voice! Such a babe ❤️❤️❤️❤️
UA-cam somehow taking my post down asking people to vote for the for The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame?! Ridiculous.
GREAT GREAT GREAT VOICE!!! EPIC SONG!!
I just got their greatest hits at Walmart....I'm jamming to this going down road...if u don't move to this....better check your pulse 😂❤
A rock classic
The mark of an amazing band. They stand the test of time. When you jam as hard to them 40 years later as you did when they first released the song. Foreigner you still ROCK!!!
😢
Epic.
When music spoke to us not at us.
Classic song and lyrics that transcends time .. Just as good today as it was back then!
What a gem of a song and a gem of a band. Mick and Lou were so freaking amazing then.
Gotta love that chorus! Always Gave me the major chills and I was only 7 in 81 listening to it and knew what a hit it was! Still gives me chills Today!!
I watched the Eternals movie and thought ok a ho-hum movie. Then this EPIC and FANTASTIC song from youth came on to close out the movie! My thoughts of the movie changed for the better when they selected this song for the soundtrack!
OMG YES SAME GURL YES EVEN BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE ~ Things didnt work out in life as i had hoped for... :(
I was also 7 In 81!
"I came to the music industry with a great wish to create. I never wanted be a money machine". Thank you for your pure talent, our Rock hero! Louis, thanks a lot! Songs penned by you marked my life. We had some tape reels at home... but our legendary Soviet record company "MELODY" released only the legendary second album "DOUBLE VISION". The epic fourth album "4" was ripped by my father from a good friend. Old music never gets old!
😊
I ask a friend is it just me or did we grow up in the greatest area in music? He said yes we did !
Lou Gramm has one of the best voices in rock and roll very underrated dude
Better than anything on radio today!
Awesome, song!!!!!👍, one of foreigners best 🎶 song 🎵 s!!!!! 1977 , was A GREAT YEAR FOR MUSIC 🎶!!!!!! REALLY TAKES ME BACK TO THE GOOD TIMES!!!!!👍
I'm 25 (born in '97) and not only was this band the soundtrack of my childhood, so was Journey, Rush, E.L.O., and so many others! I will never let these songs die!
So glad to hear younger folks that like the music of the 1970s & 80s. Really makes my day. I was 22 when this came out so I was one of the lucky ones to have lived in that time and the great music.
Macintosh Apple , that song 🎵 was 20 years old in 1997. Sadly, Lou Gramm was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late 1996 and was told by two different doctors in Rochester N.Y to "get his things in order." Fortunately, by God's grace
in April 1997 , the doctors at a hospital in Massachusetts spent 13 hrs by Lazer surgery removing Lou Gramms tumor. Lou came out of retirement in 2021 to show the fans, he's not tired yet.
@@waltersimmons946 That is good news !! I didn't remember hearing about his diagnosis in 1996 (no internet for me until 1998) Hope Lou is still doing fine in 2023.
@Muffs 55mercury He's doing fine. About 10 to 15 yrs ago, the doctors cut back on his medication (he was taking about 12 different things). Some medication he will have to take the rest of his life, but he's in a better position, and so is his voice. BTW, on UA-cam if you had not seen Lou .He's appeared by Skype on John Beaudins ROCK HISTORY. You can see those interviews from last July and August . He's still ticked off about Mick Jones ripping him off over the royalty ratio for "I want to know what love is."
As a U.K. guy. OMG How good were Foreigner. Top bands bring a transcendence that elevate you in dark times. There highs and lows are our lows n highs. Respect 👌
Mick Jones is British and he founded 'Foreigner' 🎸
They were going to call themselves Trigger, but the name was already taken, so Mick Jones chose the name "Foreigner" instead, citing that no matter whether or not they were playing in the US or the UK, three of the band would be foreigners - Mick Jones, Ian McDonald and Dennis Elliott were British, while Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi were American.
I was 12 in 1977 and an older neighbor up the street had this. I was totally blown away by how incredible Foreigner was!!!
Chills at 2.16. Every time.
Love this band, so many great memories. Love Lou Gramm
Love it! Up there with Steve Perry! ❤
Foreigner took things to a whole new level. When I first heard this, I knew that these guys were gonna be around for a long time.
I'm glad this song still gets air time because its message is definitely timeless.
It's better now in 2024 than 1977
RIP Ian McDonald
no overload. simple rhythm, good melody, great voice.
Rock and roll at its finest.
What an awesome song. It came 5 years before I was born, I heard it for the first time at 18 and I am here in my 40s listening to it.
best band ever
What a voice, what a band! I always loved Foreigner😘
These songs bring me back to the great old days, what ever happened to this music, and the time's were awesome
Damn, James Gunn's musical superpower transcended into Eternals as well, huh?
Oh btw I love that everyone in my cinema were singing along ❤️
Me too
This is from what scene ?
Mid credit scene
obviously Gunn did not invent using songs from 70s to 80s in superhero films but this song just feels like something that would be in a Peter Quill mixtape
Rewatching Eternals after knowing that *that* character is traditionally a Guardians of the Galaxy character, this gave me such intense Guardians vibes with the way the music kicked in during their introduction that I'm hoping this actually leads into whatever happens in Guardians 3!
RIP Ian McDonald!
This is a fantastic song makes you wanna get up and dance
Thanks..im in a wheelchair ♿
@@mrabrasive51 you can still dance !!!
Great track! 1st June 2024, Congratulations Foreigner ❤🎉
Saw Foreigner in 1977 at the old Capital Theater Passaic NJ. It WAS the best live concert in my life. LOU LIVES ON!🎸
Foreigner had one of the best 10 year runs in rock history. All six albums went platinum, the first five sold at least three million. The first five albums all peaked inside the Top 5. All six albums had at least one top 10 single. 9 songs reached the Top 10 and 14 song reached the Top 20.
Wow, Lou is so young in this. So cute!
Still, after all these years this still sounds incredible.
Feels like the first time. It's been a pleasure. I'm glad you like it. Rock on
Lou vocals, eternally grateful.
Would've loved footage of him recording this tune in 76 and 77
70s Foreigner ROOOOOOOOCCCCKKKKED
2023 STILL great! This song was playing when I was driving to work after just buying my 442 back for the 2nd time! I loved that car!
Should have dumped that woman and kept that
Car!!
Can you listen to a song 10 million times and never get tired of it I did
44 years later and this song still rocks 🎵 👌 🪨 🎸 😎 🙌 😜 🤪
