Great news Foreigner won the rock and roll hall of fame. Finally. We did it
Finally!! 👏 👏 👏 👏
It only took 30 years. 🙂
Yeah...and you would NOT have done it without Lou.🤬
One of the reasons I don’t like the Hall of Fame. Shame on them for taking so long.
They deserve the hall....hands down a amazing group 💯
One of those songs from the era that just sticks in your memory. You can go 35 years without hearing it, then hear it again and start singing all the words, like no time has passed.
Helps that the words are “you’re as cold as ice” for 80% of the song
SO TRUE!!
I think all 80 @70@ 60' are the the best music ever!
I know what you mean.
A while ago I heard a song I hadn't heard for at least thirty years and had forgotten about. As soon as I heard it, every last detail of the song was instantly in my head.
It's fascinating that you have detailed memories that you don't know you still have and can randomly remember them for no reason.
I really wish I'd studied neuroscience instead of cybernetics. I hate computers now.
Im 16 and random in school I Start singing ,,cold as ice" and nobody knowed the Song, but I dont know when I headed it last time😂
Congratulations on The Hall Induction! The longest overdue artists in the Hall's history!
Not the only ones though.
45 years for Foreigner
I was 14 in 1977...many of us from this era have witnessed the best music and bands and it lives in our hearts forever.❤
Yes I was 10-11 but remember roller skating to this at a rink.
I was also 14. I totally agree ❤
@@whistlertaxidriver HAA! I'm 56 and was at the roller rink every weekend skating, sometimes on ice at the Polar Palace next to Miami Jai Alai. They would play that one song "ring my bell" all the time, LOL. Cheers
13-14 when this came out. I remember hearing this great song on the radio all the time!
how old are you right polly
Lou is what made Foreigner great!❤
I agree, it is a pity what his health problems did to him.
Absolutely. Foreigner! No question. Foreigner!!!!!! No one can ever replace you guys. EVER!
Hiphop really made a hit from this masterpiece, I am black but this a bad ass song
Lou Gramm is one of the greatest voices in Rock n Roll.
one of those classy rock songs from the 70's that will never be done any better.
No, the welfare trash can't black up this song with their underwear hanging out while they stink of weed. They can't play musical instruments or sing; only rap.

That's right! What a time it was, what music we had, the very best of the best!
This song came on in the late 70s but is really a classic 80s song. It got tons of airplay in the early 80s. It was on the radio all the time. What a decade.
A grade school boyfriend called and blasted this on my parents landline (that's all we had back then kids), to break up with me! Lol...still makes me rock out when I hear it!!!

Still loving there music in 2024xx❤
It's so good, MOP had to sample it. That 1:48 mark gave me a flush
Just wanted to thank Foreigner for helping me deal with the breakup on my marriage in the 80's. This song became 'my' song to help get through it all.

True
One of the greatest rocksongs.
This is truly a rock and roll classic, from one of the truly great rock and roll bands ever. You won't see this type of musicianship any more these days. Thanks for all the great music Foreigner!!!
Saw lou last night 08*31*24 at the Bank of NH Pavilion, He sang cold as ice, hot blooded, and JUKE BOX HERO!
Guy still belts it out!
Lou was beyond emotive with his sublime voice. You knew immediately what he was singing
One of those classic 70's songs that is better than you think it is.
Agreed
King of King Queen 👑 👸
One of the best songs ever!
It's a classic for many reasons. One, it's just a cool song. Two, it has a really catchy tune. Three, the band are really good musicians. Four, it really does describe an emotional experience that's almost universal. The hurt of rejection by someone you love, the bewilderment, the anger, the wish that they will regret it, and will maybe one day experience some negative consequences because of it. So many of us have felt that. Me very recently! Haha! Thanks Foreigner!
Very true, maybe one of the most underrated Songs ever!
Felt in love with a girl, but she is ,,cold as ice to me'' so tuning it up...
just a song huhoushfoSEfbruh

True on all counts. Still my favorite from that era, we truly had the best music. Anna In Ohio

JAMMIN' TO A GREAT HIT!!! ✌️
My ex wife dedicated this song to me.
Just saw Lou Gramm with Asia backing him at Mohegan Sun Arena. In my opinion, he is right up there with superstars like Freddie Mercury & Robert Plant. He voice and range is still superb for his age, despite serious health issues that he fought off. Amazing!
One of the best intros ever...!
Maybe the best
for sure 👍 great drummer Dennis Elliott
Finally.... Enough of those new live videos of this band... Classic Foreigner at its best
Exactly
Omg finally we have been saved. Lou Gramm forever
This song still sounds fresh now. Catchy hook - sampled many times; great musianship, arrangement and lyrics.
Imagine stepping off a train, back into the 70's (and 80's), and Lou Gramm is there singing to you. What a dream! ❤
:-)
But imagine stepping back into this song, and Lou Gramm's singing this about YOU
I consider myself very blessed to grow up in that era. It was yesterday walking to work and suddenly began to murmur it and decided to put it on my phone's ringtone. Can you believe that!
That was yesterday...
No

Classic masterpiece of a big rock ballad. 💜🩷

Love the incorporation of the piano in the intro of such a giant rock track.
We were told a long time ago, Timeless classic is a understatement. 🎵
This song is so great it’s unbelievable. They are still going strong today.
It is a really cool song.
they are a pastiche cash-cow tribute band now, Lou was Foreigner!

This song rocks!! My brother and sisters and I used to play the Foreigner album a lot in 1977 after my dad got us a new stereo from Sears with turntable and 8-track for Christmas 1976. We all chipped in to buy the album. Wish I still had it. Still my favorite track on the Foreigner album.
You are too honest!

Westbrick can build an igloo made up of bricks for every shot he misses, coldest player of all time. 🥶 🧱
Since this song was on the radio almost literally all the time, and also because I may never have heard it again even once after the 70s ended, if I close my eyes and listen, I can almost believe that when I open them I will be back in that lost world. Can you believe all the things we've seen since then?
Is any of it REAL? 😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵
Yeah I wish I had a time machine so then I can use it and go back to the late 60 and live there for the rest of my life.

@@emily-xj3xv really can’t. Kids were ding dong ditching and I ran to get my gun and felt bad when I watched the camera. The world has turned me cold.
The days of REAL MUSIC.
Going through a messy relationship or should I say "relationship" related affair. Manipulation, lying, trickery, double sidedness, all the good old tricks. Wouldn't be so bad, if it wasn't my first time. I am not completely clear of folly either. But as an enthusiastic first timer, my emotions drew me in. Lessons learnt all around. And this song truly has been a gem for getting through it all.
In the last lap of this mess now. Not long to go.
gl man
2 faced devils. They're everywhere.
This song is timeless
The simplicity of the music, lyrics, and visuals of this era are lovely and refreshing
Now everyone thinks it's hip to be satanic, vile and crude. Everyone is covered in awful tattos even on their faces. They spend hundreds of dollars for haircuts, dye their hair absurd neon colors, wear unnatural colored contacts , major body alterations including body and facial reconstruction. Butt and lip injections. Facke eyebrows. Fake oversized boobs. Makeup contouring that is a makeup mask to hide true facial structure. Promotion of every drug and alcoholpossibke, wrecklesness and carelessness. Polygamy, orgies annd impersonal sexual relations, sugar daddies, oh man I could go on and on
Music ain't simple man..
@@yashnanda3427 indeed - this song actually isn't very simple at all - EXCELLENT musicianship on display! One of my all-time favourites.

The REAL deal here. 1977 was a golden year. This sounds amazing in my Bose headphones......
Foreigner and Boston hit the scene pretty much at the same time. Hard to believe that both bands were turned down by almost every major record label...sometimes twice. Foreigner finally landed with Atlantic.

The 5 greatest Rock Concerts I ever attended, in order:
1. Foreigner, 1976, Montgomery, Alabama. The sound, lighting, costumes, voices. They were absolutely superb.
2. Foreigner, 1978, Montgomery, Alabama. See above. They don't slack. Still reigns supreme.
3. Mother's Finest, 1976, Montgomery, Alabama. The Finest. Baby Jean put on a helluva show. Make no mistake folks, these people rocked the Civic Center, and to this day 45 funkin' years later the only concert I've ever left totally breathless. Baby Jean was the sexiest woman I've ever seen on a stage. Period.
4. Eagles, 1979, Auburn, Alabama. What turned out to be one of the last dates I went out with the woman I would marry was this concert. We're still married 42 years later. This was one of the few last times Eagles would perform together before they split, some months later Frey and Felder came to blows. This concert was a bit weak, the tensions showed a little. But their famous harmonies were still tight and the guitars still soared.
5. Kiss, 1975, Montgomery, Alabama. The makeup. The glitter. The blood. The flashpots. What else can one say? I wore black bell bottoms, white cowboy boots, red shirt, black leather vest, dog collar with a silver crucifix affixed. And was 15. Kiss was loud. New. Cool.
Congratulations on your 42 years of nuptials! I enjoyed reading your enthusiasm about what must have been magical times for you.
I was born 1979 btw and married to my beautiful lady for 20 some years.

ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER BY ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER
You're as cold as ice
You're willing to sacrifice our love
You never take advice
Someday you'll pay the price, I know
I've seen it before
It happens all the time
Closing the door
You leave the world behind
You're digging for gold
Yet throwing away
A fortune in feelings
But someday you'll pay
You're as cold as ice
You're willing to sacrifice our love
You want paradise
But someday you'll pay the price, I know
I've seen it before
It happens all the time
Closing the door
You leave the world behind
You're digging for gold
Yet throwing away
A fortune in feelings
But someday you'll pay
You know that you are
(Cold, cold) (as, as) (ice)
As cold as ice to me
(Cold, cold, cold) (as, as, as) (ice)
You're as…
