Kind of liking this Giant Man setup. The tiers seem a little weak, but make sense for the figure. No popular figures locked behind the tiers so that's a plus. Price point is easier to get behind as well. Really digging the ridiculous articulation they put into those hands.

It's always so crazy to see our words spoken on the podcast can be twisted so wildly durring this weird game of telephone. All it takes is just one listen to our actual show to learn that even though we are willing to pay the price for our favorite properties doesn't mean that we can't critique it. You said it here, EoV was worth it for you, but you can see why it wasn't for other people. I'll pay practically any price for the next entry in DBSHF, but yet I can understand when people complain about the 30th Goku, lmao.

a few months ago I was so close to getting the baff for 180 but chickened out. this haslab that's 10 inches bigger and more articulation for a few dollars more than what I was going to. worth it for me. not going to let anyone discourage how I spend my money and what'll make me happy
Not gonna lie, giant man has yet to join my collection and for $200 I'm all in. I paid more than that for an Ares B.A.F many moons ago. The tiers are not that attractive in my opinion but they're not bad either. All in all, this will be a welcomed addition.

I think it will fund and I believe it is a great straight forward and simple offering. As I said in your comments before, I just don't care about the character at all. So I am passing. I really hope it funds as it does look great and I can't wait to see all those who are great at posing, action figure photography and have dynamic displays, show him off.
Technically its 1/3 funded, but I consider a Haslab fully funded once all the tiers are met. I really want that Skrull head.
I also expected a "Giant Man family" through the years set, meaning multiple 18"-20" characters. The offering is a good product but targets very specific fans/collectors again.
As someone who never got the old toybiz giantman baf, this is a must for me at that price, and he looks great! Hope he gets some tier unlock figs after face plates but if not no biggie.

I love the current HasLab and I understand wanting more 6in stretch goals like classic wasp or even a Yellowjacket but I don't need them to sell me on this figure, especially if they will be offered in a more general release. I can see those figures coming out within a year or two from now. So sorry about dealing with the toxic fans. It's a struggle and I've said it before about social media, everyone has their right to an opinion, but not every thing should be shared or said.

Think I might be in on this hazlab. For the price I’d say it’s well worth it. I don’t mind that they played this one safe as it gives a chance for collectors that may not have had the bread to purchase the Galactus and sentinel a chance to own a hazlab for a decent price.

I’m just happy whenever new toys are announced. If I think the price is too high or bad quality I won’t buy it. I agree with you on this one in trying to bring this back about the figure and not just company hating content. It’s a Chinese buffet, you pick and choose what you want and call it a day. We all got real life problems and don’t need toy community problems when we are all trying to escape that noise✌️

Listening to Ryan Ting's other interviews , its clear Giant Man was locked in during the EOV campaign ; and when it didn't succeed , they pivoted . I believe big G was initially going to be $300 with three figure unlocks , but they got spooked and played for the safe win .

I think Giant Man looks fine. I just didn't really read Avengers when I was younger. I was more into X-adjacent stuff, Spider-Man, Batman, and a few others. I just don't really connect with the character. If it was cheaper I might have gone in. Even if it had free shipping I would consider.

I don't care if someone wants to be negative. But I do have a problem when that negativity comes with a smug arrogance that says "I'm smarter-er and more moral-er than you." And that's what I've been seeing a lot of in these discussions.
These are luxury items. Anyone remember when eggs were $8 a dozen? And what are we paying for utilities these days? But this is the battle to fight?
If Big Egg and Big Electric are getting theirs then you best believe Big Toy is going to as well. Hasbro and Mattel are publicly traded companies and as such they're beholden to hitting specific fiscal goals. And they're gonna do what they must to do that. That should never be a surprise. Call it out as much a you want but that won't change. And in the end is this really a "score one for the good guys" kind of situation? I just feel like the fate of the free world doesn't hang in the balance because Giant Man only comes with face plates and costs $200 instead of $175.
I say focus on what you can change. There's been a bunch of independent companies with brand new IP that have started up this year. If I felt that strongly about this and I had a UA-cam following I would spend a lot of my time talking up those new upstarts instead of all this other business. That's what I've done with my money. I've put a decent chunk of my toy budget to new stuff and I wait for the big company offerings to go on clearance. But Giant Man ain't never gonna be on clearance. So I'm backing that business.
Love what you said and more importantly the way it was said. As I commented on another podcast recently, just stick to talking about the toys. Crap on the toy, the price or even the company, but stop crapping on others just because they don't review what you want them too. It's like some people just want to start a "console war" amongst content creators in our community. You just got yourself a new subscriber today. Respect.

I don't see why people would have a problem with this Haslab. The figure is much bigger than the Toybiz BAF and cost about the same of what the BAF cost on ebay, mercari, etc. I wish we would could have gotten a updated Yellowjacket, classic Wasp, etc as tiers but this is a great value. You're going to have people who are diehard haters of Hasbro and they'll never be satisfied. They do have some valid arguments about Hasbro's practices but for the most part, they're some miserable people.
Sometimes when people are miserable, they want everyone else miserable. I wonder if any of them really like toys.

Great stance, Boog! The next chance you get to talk with the Legends team, could you ask them if there is a possibility for the Giant-Man base body to be used again (when Giant-Man gets funded) for other giant characters (Goliath, MOE Goliath, Titan, Micromax, etc.) down the road?
Hasbro makes mistakes , they've had QC issues lately ( hopefully it ends now that the windows are back ) but I'm still going to buy them .
Even with the price hike they're more affordable than a lot of the other companies .

I love the Giant Man itself and i definitely want it, but i am disappointed that the teirs are once again face plates that i feel should have come right out of the gate with the figure. Also it really sucks that the Sentinel came out the gate with an additional 6inch figure you didn't need to unlock and had an additional accessory for it that could turn him into another character and, aside from the EoV, we have yet to get something like that again with this Giant Man being no exception. It's really silly and ridiculous that we didn't get a regular 6inch scale Giant Man with this Haslab.

As for Giant-Man, it initially seemed safe to me too but now I'm beginning to think that going no-frills is a big gamble. Feels like a glorified preorder and the stretch goals aren't appealing enough to drive orders. Maybe it's irrational but I would have backed a Giant-Man and Wasp set in a minute for $250 but G-M solo at $200 doesn't move me as much. I think if they announce some related figures over the next month or so (PulseCon, etc.) it will help. I won't be surprised if it clears 20K but I also won't be surprised if it stalls at 10K, either.

I'm glad they didn't lock a bunch of coveted figures (Yellowjacket, Wasp, etc.) behind a $350.00 scheme. Great! But its not "toxicity" if people are saying they don't see this as being worth $200.00. End of the day its a 24" Legends figure with extra finger articulation. Big woop. What would have made sense, was including a 6" Giant-Man in this costume, or even a Wasp in her original outfit. Use the plastic that was wasted on these faces/heads and include a 6" figure instead. If they had done that, this thing would have been fully funded by now.

I'm sure in the end it will fund. I'm not a giant man fan nor do I believe it was the best BAF ever. I'll most likely back it towards the end. The lack of good tiers is what holds me back from jumping the gun right away.

Nice that it isn't padded with $100 with fomo paywall figures. That said, I would have thrown in a really ktstchy crazy rare Wasp frankenbash on the last tier, just her with crazy apps. If they included a rare Janet it would definitely have put me over the fence. I get that a lot of people measure the value by the extra figures (which are not baked in or free), but the problem is they need to sell like 18k or so to justify the extra tooling and packaging at possibly a $300 base cost. I hope backers get those 2 extra faceplates at 12k and 14k! I still think there would have been room for a Wasp as the last tier without going over 200. Put the two faces at 12k and Janet with mini toy Wasp at 14k. Just a tiny sweetener I think, that is where I would see the sweet spot.

A big issue right now is that there isn't anything in the cultural sphere that is inspiring people to spend money on buying Marvel collectibles. Can you honestly say that since Endgame came out, there has consistently been such incredible storytelling in movies and comic books that you just had to give Marvel more money?
For me the answer is no. At this point, I'm selling more than I am buying. Hasbro's total laziness is a problem as well. No accessories, barely any new sculpting, almost zero paint, no wash, barely any detail work... just a bunch of laziness that doesn't make me excited about giving them more money.
I was ready to pump money into all the Krakoa X-Men offerings and then nothing happened.
My one main gripe is that the zombie head although cool is just kind of pointless unless hasbro intends to do waves of marvel zombies. At this point there's only 2 zombie figures and they aren't from the comic sooooo it's like whats the point of making that a tier? Like there's nothing to get out of it. If the tiers were an unmasked head or even a hank pym figure. I do also think the smiling face is creepy as fuck. However the articulation on the hands is great. It will probably be a pass for me. I just wish the line was way more consistent and actually finished teams and what not.

I think between this haslab and the Transformers haslabs it proves that stretch goals are included in the base price. That is why it is only 200 no other 6 inch figures added to the cost. If this finds preorders will open for other versions of Hank Pym, and Wasp.
I don't understand why anyone would think Hasbro wouldn't include the tiers in the price of the whole projects. It's pretty simple. The price is based on units produced. The more units, the less the cost per unit, the more they include. The number of people who think tiers are "extra" or "free" astounds me.
With Galactus, I wasn't going to get it because it was too high a price for just the figure. When they added 3 additional figures, I was good with it. With Giant Man, I'm good with this price for just the figure, but I want that Skrull head so I hope it hits 14k.

The Haslab obviously has three sides. Those who like, those who don't and those who are indifferent and don't care.
I don't tend to see the ones that are against it telling their audience not to back the haslab. They're giving their opinion (reasons) on why they're not backing it.
Of course everyone is free to agree or disagree with said opinion. Telling them their opinion is wrong because you don't agree is not what I would consider "having knowledge"... but that's just like my opinion man...

With others being toxic they are just antagonizing and act like they aren’t. It’s all in their delivery. Some people don’t care and some people can’t even comprehend how idiotic they sound.

I'm on the fence on this one. The figure looks okay, but the stretch goals are very weak and I do feel it's overpriced by about $50. The zombie and Skrull face plates are useless to me. If they announce a classic Wasp to go with this before the HasLab ends I might pull the trigger.
Every time I see a pic like your thumbnail with the HasLab and the Toy Biz BAF side by side, I immediately gravitate to the Toy Biz BAF. It’s one of my favorite figures in my collection, and it just works better for me aesthetically and in terms of storage/display space. If not for that, I would have backed the HasLab on day one.
I think they shouldn't have had any tiers. Just have everything that was shown be a part of the cost. And if they wanted a lot more orders, then towards the end, they could add a special figure.
I also would love to see five or six packs for quick army building and that's for Marvel Legends,Mattel, and all the up and comers. Peace.
I think if they would've gave the figure better neck articulation and a balljoint at the waist, it would probably have been more enticing. They went all out on the hands, but gave it an enlarged Renew Your Vows buck for the body which isn't a great match imo. That, and they probably should have included some type of growing effects or something else along those lines. Aesthecially, it looks nice, and I hope it funds for everyone that really needs it to finish their classic Avengers team, but it's really a bare bones offering tbh..

Sorry you're caught up in the negativity surrounding a certain disgruntled ex-employee. Why he can't just forget about Hasbro and HasLab and just focus on trying to make his own brand better, I don't get it, either. Anyway, forget those fools, they'll never be happy. This Giant Man may not be a dream project that some people wanted, but it's the project the brand needs right now. It's priced right, nice and fair, and so are the tiers. Are face plates exciting? Not really, but after a lot of feedback about them hiding desirable figures behind a HasLab that people didn't really want, this was the better decision for the Legends team. Same on accessories that just add unnecessary cost. I'm happy to get back to the basics and have these projects about the big item and not extras. $200 Giant Man, let's go.

Also, I think the Giant-Man Haslab is worth its price. I collect a variety of things and I’ve paid more for less. I like model kits and one thing I love collecting is the Bandai SMP Super Sentai/Power Ranger line. Each can range from 80-100 USD. Each kit is no more than 6 inches, and the fully assemble kit is hollow. It’s just the nature of the beast.
I also agree the Haslab car definitely isn’t worth the asking price. If it was $250 then yes. $220 for the car and accessories, and $30 for the figure.

I was thinking the same thing about Bobby and crew. I respect their opinions but it’s beyond that from what I saw on their latest podcast. At least specifically from Bobby. At this point I have to think of Valaverse as just another Hasbro... they both make toys I would occasionally like to buy but that’s it. Hasbro is a corporation at the end of the day and Bobby a disgruntled employee. 🤷🏽♂️

For me, it’s a green light to seize the opportunity. My only qualms would be the tiers aren’t amazing but not weak either, I would like to see the variations in Pym as well, as opposed to a skrull head (it’s a great sculpt but would require a complete skrull overhaul of whole teams,same with zombie heads). The other is the price point fluctuations between releases make me wonder if the Giant Man release has showed the fine line that is crowd funding. In a economics perspective, a kid with initiative could mow about 6-7 yards and have enough cash to buy a Giant Man.
It all comes down to personal taste. I could do without the zombie face since I don't have any interest in the zombie stuff. If that was a Wasp figure instead I'd be happy. But I get that a lot of people are into that and Hasbro knows there are people that will buy 3 figures just to show the 3 variants. The question is, are there more people willing to pass because of no Wasp figure than there are people willing to buy multiples.

For $200 im tempted hard as hell to fund this and i dont even need a giant man. People will whine no matter what. Some will argue “oh were entitled to our opinions” and thats true. You can say you dont like something but we be too damn grown to whine and bitch about certain things.

The hate seems limited for this Haslab. It's certainly out there but it doesn't seem so in your face liked with the EVO. I think it's great, just not a big fan of Hank enough to get it. The detail is incredible.
It's one thing to call out Hasbro for re-using the same outdated body mold over and over again.
It's an entire different thing to just attack people for enjoying their hobby.
Again, I think this is a better offer than the EOV, could the tiers be better? sure, but the base offer is good, other 1/4 (18 inch) figures are around 150-170, so the price is reasonable
