+P Ammo Is Not Always Better for Self Defense

  • In theory, bigger is better as well as stronger and faster. Going for a bigger caliber gets you a bigger projectile generally with more energy and more often than not with more velocity. If you do not want to increase the caliber that you shoot, maybe because it would make for a gun that is too big to be practical to carry, you have a different way to go. Choose +P ammo. While the projectile is not necessarily heavier, it does leave the muzzle at a greater velocity bringing more energy downrange.

Now go and tell the FBI to switch from Hornady Critical Duty +P 9mm to standard presure 9mm version. 😂 As long as you get enough penetration +P is good option. We can see penetration tests off all ammo, so it is not hard to check.

Whoa!! you are like so totally wrong about the Golden Saber +P. 13 inches of penetration is 1 inch past the recommended FBI length so it is a big improvement. Using a computer AI to try to prove your point will lead to the end of this channel.
